Hi, I'm using ax3l 2.03 rom version of lvsw's rom. When i take a photo it is stored in My documents (main memory). There is a folder there called My Pictures but the images don't get stored in it. I've explored the registry but all I've found is HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/HTC/Camera. I can't see anywhere to alter the storage destination. Can anyone help please?
Thanks in advance.
Pete
Further exploration shows a few Dword references to storage and Saveto with the value 0(00000000)???
review the thread of AX3L and you will see that he mention what you said as a bug can't be solved until now
Thanks, I've read the thread and already seen the references to the problem without any solutions offered so I started this new thread in the hope that someone more knowledgeable than myself and that otherwise wouldn't or hasn't read the original thread could offer a solution (hopefully something simple to add to the registry) - maybe I should edit the thread title to WM6 picture storage to entice people that don't use AX3L's rom to read it.
Just been reading about similar problem on some Hermes wm6 roms but with images to storage card. Followed some of the suggestions there but no effect, I've tried altering the storage position via the registry but hasn't changed things at all. Also discovered that the value 0 refers to main memory and 1 is storage card.
waiting for resolve the "storage-problem"....try my patch....
This cab (ready to install) contain only few registry tweaks to:
Improove Photo Quality
Improove Video Quality (only on the bigger MP4)
I had tested ANY registry values for many many times....finally, i understand that THIS is the only way to improove both video and photo quality.....
If you want, try to edit other values (for example "birate" vor video)....the result will be only a less-quality photo or video!
Tested on my ROM (any version) and on the LVSW's ROM v2.0.1.1

I've FIXED it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats great, so will there be a new Rom or a cab to fix this problem?
Hi AX3L,
first of all, great rom... for this fix... is it this registry fix?

yes!! is this!
Is this patch in 2.0.5? If not, maybe you should release a CAB to change the registry settings?
Thanks AX3L for the rapid relpy and the fix, downloading the cab now. Thanks again.
Pete
Wow! Great job AX3L!!! ....help me out a little with that fix (anyone). Do I need to create a new key, dword, or string value? I'm guessing a string value but not sure.
@AX3L....I'm d/l'ing your camera.zip right now to give it a shot and tell you if it makes any difference in quality of pics/vids. Thanks again.
Add a new string value. Value name - (the first bit in the speech marks) and value data -(the second bit in the speech marks) - both without the speech marks.
Just extract this file and copy it to your PPC, open it with the Resco Explorer Registry Ad-in or with the SkTools Registry Ad-in, I know not the finest method but it worked for me!
Thanks for the info. xda is over my head most times.....lol. I have no problem making the registry change myself, I'm still learning though.....
*edit* got it....thanks
Same here,I keep playing and hoping I don't do any serious damage ( He who dares wins? or breaks it)
@AX3L....here's some feedback on the camera patch.
Not sure what the .cab does but the pictures look good. It's hard to tell a big difference but it definitely seems to take them a bit faster? I'll test more but seems fine to me. The registry fixed where they are stored....perfect!!

I guess the title pretty much sums up my question but just to let you know what I've done so far I'll explain fully.
I've been dropping my audio files into the 'Rings' directory for my ringtones without problem. I can then assign these with Start-->Settings-->Phone.
However my dilemma arises when I wish to use a personal audio file as my incoming SMS tone. I've tried copying these to both 'Rings' and also to 'My Music' (although anywhere would be ok I'm sure?). When I try to select an audio file from Start-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications I can't see any of my audio files in the 'Event' list to choose for 'Messagin: New Text Message'.
Can you help? Thx in advance.

Try reading the instruction manual..
Start\Sounds & Notifications\Notifications Tab\
User drop down menu to get to Messaging: New Next Message.. Make sure the 'Tick Box' is filled in and use drop down menu to change sound.
If you desire a custom sound, put custom .wma sound into "Windows" on PPC.
Hope this helps..?
Cheers!
After searching for the present notification samples (namely Alarm1, Alarm2 etc...) and finding these within the windows directory of the handset I simply decided I'd store my audio files in the 'Windows' directory to see if they appeared in the 'Event' list.
Tada! I now have funky audio files for my incoming SMS tone. Hope this helps anyone else having difficulty with this problem.

It's not got everything but try here.. It's on the T-Mobile UK site..
http://www.manuals.t-mobile.co.uk/start.asp?manual=844
The online manual is VERY HANDY, thanks for that link *bookmarked*
I'll probably d/l the pages and reference images to use offline incase T-Mobile suddenly decide to remove the pages one day (knowing my luck this week).
I'm actually unable to register fully with http://www.clubimate.com as the PDA2K is pre-owned and consequently I need to pay $59.99 to get access to updates and downloads. Which unfortunately for me includes manuals and ROM upgrades. So again I can't thank you enough for the MDAIII link

I wouldn't worry about the clubimate registration as, if required, an i-mate ROM update would proabably be posted in here..
Regarding the Manual, it's probably best to made it usable off-line as I'm not too sure how long the On-line manual will be available.. They've recently stopped selling the MDA3, you know!

i was trying to do the same..but it doesn't seem to work
i copied both versions *.wma and *.wav..in /windows
but it still does not come in the list..though it comes in the incoming call list
im using wm5..though i doubt that should make a difference
hello??
seems no one knows !! i dont think its that tough?! i tried changing the registery value to the location of the file
still does not work
I should be getting my new artemis tomorrow. Im off on holiday soon and im hoping that when you take a picture there is an option to log the gps coordinates so you can tell where I was taken. Maybe you can even import them into google earth????
If this isn’t possible maybe there is some 3rd party software. Or any other good gps tracing applications??
Soz if this has already been covered, I have had a look at previous post!!!
There are lots of apps which get GPS coordinates. These are mostly for some Bluetooth GPS devices as diagnostics software. The German .NET Magazine dotnet pro had an article about getting GPS coordinates. If you are familiar with .NET programming you could write an additional GoogleEarth export.
Alternatively you could look after some ready made tools.
Im really surprised that nobody else wants to do this on a pda especially as the Artemis has a built in gps receiver!!!
!
I have since learned that this is called geotagging and some digital cameras with now embed the gps coordinated onto the picture. Web sites like http://www.panoramio.com/ which make a kml file to view your pics in google earth.
At the moment tho i have to find these coordinates by using picasa 2
and using their geotag option but you still have to find the location manually on google earth
download picasa here: http://picasa-server.com/?s=yp_uk&OVRAW=picasa 2&OVKEY=picasa 2&OVMTC=standard
It would be so much easier to be able to just take a pic on the Artemis and have the coordinates automacally embedded on to the file!
Any new ideas????
I heard that the Dopod ROM has this feature (geo coding). So solution for other ROMs yet.
im quite happy with my rom at the mo, dont wanna mess about with it. But if thats the only way i might have to look into it
Here is the solution to activate the gps photo on the Artemis...
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\
create a new folder called P9 and then
"ProfileName"="GPS Photo"
"MainCamCaptSize"=dword:00000040
"Enable"=dword:00000001
"2ndCamSupportCaptSize"=dword:00000054
"MainCamSupportCaptSize"=dword:000002D4
"2ndCamCaptSize"=dword:00000040
"EnableRecLimit"=dword:00000000
"RecLimitSize"=dword:0000005F
"RecLimitedType"=dword:00000000
"EncodeFormat"=dword:00000003
"CaptureFormat"=dword:00000002
"Property"=dword:018013BD
"CaptureType"=dword:00000008
"ProfileName_0409"="GPS Photo"
or you can import with Resco the attached registry file.
Some friend tell me that they have on the registry the folder P9.
In this case you must only change the registry value Enable from 0 to 1
That is awesome, great that this can be done via registry. Wonder why htc disabled it per default.

Yes. This is correct when the last ROM you updated from was the Dopod one.
While we are at this let me share my findings:
1. You can improve the camera pictures (at least if you uped. from dopod rom as I did) by going to the ext.rom with total commander and running the cab CP_061025_P800W_CamAgentCab.enus. The pic quality of the plain PDAMobiz rom is worse than the htc or real Dopod one, with a yellow hue
2. The radio rom is not updated, so it inherits that of last ROM before you went to the PDAMobiz one
Cheers
anyone done this yet? im just about 2 try!
It works!!!!! if you upload your pics to http://www.panoramio.com they will then create a kml file to view in google earth!
Cheers guys!!!
Yes, it works!
If you start the camera application,m you have to choose a different Profile in the left top of the screen.
Choose the Camera-sign with the cross, so the phone tries to get a GPS-Fix.
If the fix is established, you can make a photo.
But is the any other possibility to use the new information in Google Earth as panoramio?

I've tried this and suceed to take photos. But how and where can I see them geo-referenced??
if you download googles free picture viewer/editor in properties you will find the coordinates. make sure that you have selected the gps mode on the camera it will flash up searching for gps signal.
GPS-mode in camera works great, thank you very much. However I've lost vibration function for incoming calls, probably coincidentally, but I'm not sure.

For the vibration function try to see in HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Script
you must have in the script a v with a number i.e v2 means vibrate for two second, or v0 vibrate always...
For those who are having trouble with the OneNote Mobile that originally appeared in tripledes' 3.5 ROM and has been cooked into some other ROMs since, here's the deal. The two registry entries shown in red below were coded incorrectly in the original RGU such that "InstallPath" and "Attachments" were being created as subkeys instead of key values. The key shown in blue may be missing as well, but it's absence doesn't seem to prevent the app itself from working.
So the 1014 build of OneNote seems to work fine provided it has the proper reg entries. The one exception being the last remaining note isn't removed from the list when you delete it (an issue that was also present in build 1010).
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile]
"Version"="12.0.4518.1014"
[COLOR="Red"][HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile\12.0]
"InstallPath"="\Windows"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile\12.0]
"Attachments"=""[/COLOR]
[COLOR="RoyalBlue"]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Windows CE Services\Synchronization\Objects\OneNote Note]
"Display Name"="OneNote Note"
"Store"="\Windows\OneNoteSyncDevice.dll"[/COLOR]
Cool, just tried it on CUSTEL 2.5, it works!
Thanks alot!
Using Custel2.5, how do I make these changes? Is this answered in the wiki?
OK. Nobody flamed me at least. What I meant to ask was, is there a registry editor included in this rom already or do I need to install one such as Total Commander on the 8525? Is TC compatable with the new WM6 roms with new builds, kernels, etc.? It seems like it's an old program to me. Sorry if these are noob questions but, yes, I am a noob and I will probably never be more than that. At least not at the present time in my life. Don't need to be spoon fed but a little advice doesn't seem like alot to ask. If I had the passion and time I could learn anything on my own, I have a very functioning brain. However, my time at the moment is mostly spent working 60+ hours a week, and rebuilding my home after Katrina the rest of the time. This is a hobby, my diversion. I do read the threads and the wiki but at the moment I also need to rely on you guys that are the pros. But, if you need to know anything about rebuilding a house after a major disaster, just ask. That's something I have become well versed in.
10 out of 10 to you vp3G Nicely done! I suspected it was registry related.
I believe the blue entry is needed if you want to sync OneNote with your PC.
@ezmike: For now, you need to use a registry editor. CUSTEL 2.5 has one built in (Taskman Regedit).
@Sleuth255: Yeah, that's what I think. I don't have Office 2007 anywhere but my Hermes, so I don't know for sure. I boosted that key from the desktop cab used to install 1010.

I don't think it's terribly likely given how Office Mobile is wired into the rest of the ROM. It's roughly akin to Internet Explorer on a desktop, IMO. I may give it a whirl if I feel really ambitious, though.
Thanks vp3G and austinsnyc. Much appreciation for pointing me in the right directions and for posting the cabs, etc. I really am trying to learn as much as possible, and guys like you are helping more than you will ever know. Thanks again.

Ok, I'm sorry I must be dumb... I can't figure this out. I have tried the reg settings, I have installed the onenote files over and over and I still cannot delete any onenote files nor can I take a picture and insert it. Hey Ezmike.
FYI, TC works perfectly fine in WM6 (I'm currently on LVSW's build). I use it, not because it's the easiest or fanciest, but I'm a big fan of Christian Ghisler's and have been using TC on my desktop since about the time of Julius Caesar or so. Good luck with your home man!!!

ok guys few questions
so i have kitchen and i want to remove and add some apps
so i guess key is EXT folder and i delete folders(names of apps) of which apps i want toremove but how to add files??
the easiest way is if you put your files in oem\subfolder or sys\subfolder.
when cooking/flashing, the files autom. went to windows-folder.
but no links in startmenu ... make it manually with cecmd on your ppc.
not easy way but easy enough ... download packages... look for needed application and cook/flash.
now the cook-way: its your turn ... cab or oem-files.
both takes time to prepare correctly.
both ways needed utilities.
look film for minimum needed and how-to it.
but i say to with respect:: if you dont understand this or film than you have to read/study a little bit more.
keywords are: cabtooem, yapi, registry - rgu - p*xml, packages

As probably most of you know, the LEO or HTC HD2 had an issue with the images taken by the camera. HTC has released a fix today. This fix means an enhancement in the quality of the photos. Some guy, have made a cab, the orginal exe file provided by HTC was not able to be installed on our HTC HD, but the cab made by this guy yes...
So I have installed the cab in my device -after a back up of course-, then I have made a soft reset and once the device has rebooted I have started to use my camera. For me, but maybe is just a placebo effect, the photos taken after the installation seems to be much better, a great quality improvement has been noted by me, and also the video seems to have a faster response.
But as this fix was intended to the LEO maybe is just a placebo effect and not a real effect. I have to comment that I am using one of the new roms based on LEO. So I do not know how this fix will work on an stock rom. Just make a back up. Just in case.
My current manila version is 2.5.19.202525.0

Has anyone tested it on WM6.1 Roms? or will it work on Roms based on Leo's Rom only??
I have official rom from htc and camera fix works great. Images are better and it has additional options.
But first time I started camera picture was out of screen but it fixed it self by it self after couple of seconds.
you might be right
Just tried this on my 6.5 cooked leo ROM, there is a definate difference, the camera does seem a little quicker and the image is more crisp with more Gamma and contrast.
images
Here are the images, it occurred to me though as a different focus area was chosen in each image the white balance could have caused this changed, perhpas someone else could have a go.
Tried it on my HD with stock rom,I thought it was a marked difference,thanks for that.

LOL @ gwbard's post..
i'll try on my WM 6.1 and report back
Working on my T8282 with Maryone WM6.5 (details in sig)
-Noticed slightly faster performance... maybe...
-All extra camera options were already there for me thanks to HDTweak
-Am about 95% sure the quality of photos has increased
But maybe I just want to believe...

Works beautifully on imagio. Seriously, words can't describe the increased level of functionality of the camera on this device. I wouldn't bring my phone out to take pictures before because of the 10 seconds it takes for the autofocus to work, but this thread has shown me light. Under two seconds autofocus and shutter now. Fantastico.
Does anyone know what registry values this cab installs or writes? I would like to try it on an HD Clone. Ideally, it would be nice to know what changes are made to the registry.

Thanks. I extracted that file and renamed it as a DOC file. I can see only one Registry change:
type="Registry"><characteristic type="HKCU\Software\HTC\Customize"><parm name="Ver" value="1.0" datatype="string" /></characteristic></characteristic></wap-provisioningdoc>
Everything else seems to be installs of DLL files and some data run statements. I kind of hoped to see or know more about any other Reg changes as some of the keys are different on Clones.
So, results are positive, huh?
Okay, I'll give it a try soon.
Thanks for sharing this.

using it on duttys leo 6.5 rom and its definately speeded up the camera shot, there is still motion blur but I guess its improved and now I can take photos quicker before my son moves.
