Hi all. Been experimenting with emulators, have tried pocketgba & gnuboy CE and find them both to hardly work at all with sound (tried a variety of roms with no joy) the Orbit makes horrible noises no matter what settings I seem to try and the GBA stuff is unusable as it's so slow... is it me, or do I have something wrong in my setup?

HI !! I currently own a Tmobile MDA (HTC Wizard) I'm thinking to get a used BA and let go my Wizard. My question is how is BA as a Phone? How is the performance playing video, music and Emulator? what about WM5 ? are there still flaws, holes, problems upgrading to WM5? BA have SD card expnbl slot and we all know SD card is much more affordable than mini Sd, which expnbl for Wizard.
Well I have a IIs and I find it great. But I am upgrading to a Tytn because I prefer the size and like the keyboard better. About WM5 of coarse because it is not officially available for the BA it still has a few bugs and can be a bit frustrating at times. The BA as a phone it is alright but nothing special. I find that playing video on it the odd frame or two is lost another problem is I have found that the video and the sound become disjointed. It plays music well enough. I find it runs emulators fine. Hope this helps.
Pesonally I preferr my BA over my Wizard.
The Wizard tends to slow down ALOT depending on what apps I have running and I find myself resetting my Wizard alot more than I do with my BA.
I also like the BAs keyboard a little better because the numbers are aligned like a telephone not on the top row like a normal keyboard. The Wizard has them on the top row. I find myself searching for numbers far more than I do with the BA.
Hi, I've been experimenting with A2DP on my own Prophet and a friends Wizard. We've sorted streaming music wirlessly without skipping. Seems to work OK However we would like to somehow get the TT voice instructions broadcast over BT too. Is this a bit of a struggle with these underpowered machines or does it just require a couple more tweaks?
Ok so it seems to be a pretty universal feeling that the bt does not work well on the Hermes. I personally am having trouble with filesharing.
So i searched (forum and google) and found different threads for different bt stacks, but I want to know what is a solid, stable, well-working one I can put on my phone?
I was under the impression that the BT stacks were pretty well intertwined with the ROM making them all but impossible to mix and match. But then I haven't really tried myself, so don't let me rain on your parade.
If anyone would know the answer to this question, it would be Sleuth. He is best man for tweaking BT that I know of. BTW, I haven't had any trouble BT filesharing (assuming you mean objectpush?) with SuperD-Lite. What are you trying to share with?

Oh i see. Im not very knowledgeable about how bt is incorporated and all.
Well I've had trouble finding, linking to, and sending files to my bro's phone (it sometimes works, sometimes doesnt). First he had an LG CU500, now its a Blackberry 7130c. Same with each. I've tried the "file explorer to find file and select 'beam file'" method and Dr. Yar's bluetooth app. Working bt isnt life or death for me, but it was always handy to share a ringtone, etc.
I just tried again with the blackberry. I went in with file explorer, chose a small mp3 on my storage card to send, chose "beam file", waited till his device showed up, clicked on it, and then it said "failed". Is anyone else having similar issues?
EDIT: Ok so now i go and find my old Razr cuz i know bt works on there, and lo and behold it sent! I guess its sometin about the blackberry. Although im still interested in if htere are any ways to improve/upgrade bt.
There was development underway on the Widcomm Stack nearly a year ago... check out this from the wiki Hermes Widcomm Stack I think you will find your answer there.
...and yet I find this stack 10000% better than what was on my 6700.
Especailly with my Audi, the BT never turns off when the phone goes to sleep and all my contacts show up in the HID.
It has been perfect so far!
I had issues with Bluetooth when I was using the latest official WM5 release for my Cingular 8525. None of my Bluetooth headsets would stay connected or even paired. But since upgrading to the "official" AT&T WM6 ROM, Bluetooth works just fine!
I have had very little if any BT issues using vp3G's 3.0 ROM. Very happy but waiting for 4.0!
I'm on Schaps 3.54c and my 8525 has been perfect with my Parrot3300GPS in my car. The parrot picks up battery, signal, contacts, etc. No problems. I wish my Wizard behaved that well.
Hi @ all
I'm using a HTC TYTN II and want to connect it to my CARPC (full working normal PC) to make phonecalls read and write SMS.
There are a few progs that work with "normal" mobile phones but not with PPCs.
It should be connectable to USB, so I can charge the accu whyle driving.
I tested a remote controller to control the PPC via touching the CARPCs 7" touchscreen, this works okay. But I need a prog that will give the sound form the PPC to the CARPC and the microphone input from the CARPC to the PPC.
My fav. would be a programm that can fully control the PPCs phone functions and but not required the sms functions.
I think you know what my problem is, and sorry for my bad english I'm from germany.
Man, I just started working on the same project! Although I only want to connect the PC to my in-dash display for simpler things like Slingbox, web browsing and talkstreamlive radio.
I found this in my searching...

Hope this helps and keep in touch as you progress and I will too!
Thanks

Hey man, ive been looking for the same thing! i was using a program called err damn cant remember, but basically it just displayed my phones screen on my liliput and i could dial that way, ill see if i can find it, its been a while since i used it, syncing bt back and forth just became a hassle heh
I used to have a control that could manually select profiles; Car, Home, Work etc. It also switched to Car automatically when the carkit was connected. Maybe it wa in WM2003 or WM5. But I can't find it in any WM6, 6.5 ROMs.
Can someone post the cab for it plz?
Thanks.
the lack of profiles in windows mobile is annoying. any crappy 10 year old nokia phone has several customizable profiles, wm still doesn't. while i haven't thought about it in ages, i have to admit, if anybody has a nice app for that, i would use it as well, especially if it supports hardware changes like you say. different profiles for car kit, charger, BT handsfree... would be nice.
That's odd that no WM had it - maybe it was bundled in an Operator customisation then (e.g. Orange or O2)...trouble is I've blown all my old ROMs away!!
Anyone up for building a neat Applet then?
Have you all tried something like SPB Phone Suite? I think this comes with this option.
