Connected to network, but no internet - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I have no problems with connecting to my network, but when I'm connected...IE won't work.
When i wanna go to a website it goes locating the site a long time and then displays the message" the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later" . All the time thoug the connection icon stays connected. is it something wrong in my settings. Had wm5 before (now Schap's rom 3.30b) and had no problems at all.
Please some help

Are you in Australia using the telstra upgrade? I had what sounded like exactly the same problem after upgrading to the telstra ROM but fixed the problem by finding the telstra settings and turning them off. Can explain how to find these setttings if you are n telstra.

Flash back to your stock WM 5.0 rom provided by your carrier, it's in the Wiki.
Its the same.
Do you mean UMTS/3G? HSDPA should only be active momentarily and only while downloading data.

where do you live and who is your carrier provider?
in my countery there is same problem but it's a carrier problem.
if your carrier sale this device you can asked them
Which Mobile network in which country.
Maybe we should make a list in the wiki of networks which are having problems with calls when in HSDPA mode?
Tmn Portugal.
I have the same problem with Movistar in Spain. No problem with calls over the 3G/UMTS connection though. But as was previously said the HSPDA is only used when transfering data so this doesn´t effect me too much. However this can be problem when you are using skype or push mail which transfers data on a regular basis. I´ve tried other Radios but the same problem and Movistar can only suggest disconnecting before making a call eek: ), which is helpful!
same here... dutty v2... i use push email via live mail... and get droped calls... or people not riching me.... 1.40 radio... ORANGE RO
Same in Sweden
I do have 3 in Sweden and have exactly the same problems here
i get this too. vodafone UK on black 3. ended up turning HSPDA off
I'm on "3" in Denmark and have the same problem.
It should be noted that Nokia phones can do HSPDA and receive calls, so while I'm sure it's carrier related, it must be a mixture of the carrier and the Hermes...
I have switched HSPDA off but tries it every time I flash a new ROM or new radio. Has never worked since WM5 and am now on newest LVSW ROM with same result...

GSM connection drops in Belgium & Luxembourg

Hi guys,
I had a strange problem this weekend, my P3600 (bepe rom, dont now the version), works fine in Holland. But when I drove into Belgium the phone switched over to the Belgium T-Mobile, and the connection was gone! The phone tried to re-connect and each time there was an connection for a few seconds, and then it was gone again.
This lasted no matter what I tried. I used the connection Wizard to set the settings the the Belgium network, but that didnt work also.
The phone became terrible slow and even the GPS function was affected (tomtom was not able to find the gps device). After shutting down the gsm with the commanager everything worked fine again, but I was not able to make a call obviously. Back in Holland the phone switched to the Dutch Tmobile and calling was possible again.
Has anyone have this problem before?
regards,
Ron
belgian user here, and never had those kind of problems. maybe the problem is the operator you were supposed to switch network to (depends on your local operator, and which belgian operator he is supposed to work with). maybe you should try switching the band manually to avoid 3G connections, and to force GSM connection. these are the only kind of connection problems I've met here in Belgium...
hope this can help...

I use Vodafone and just finished a trip to Luxenburg, Belgium, France and Germany and then back to Netherlands. I use Karmba ROM and had no problems..
thanks for the quick replies guys!!! i tried to set the gsm operator mannually, but it was pretty hard doing that, as the phone was occupied searching for a network. (errormessage "phone busy"). there is a list with preferred operators in the phone settings part. i think that could be the problem. can somebody with a positive experience post his/her settings? For T-mobile Holland that is ofcourse.
thanks!!!
ps. 3G was switched off
Whos ROM

Whos ROM are you using? Try Karmba_a....v.3.0
For good reception in Belgium you really should use one of the big three operators: Mobistar, Proximus and Base.
maybe a problem of the radio rom?
what version are you using?
belgium doesnt have a t mobile network afaik
Try a different radio rom.
Here you are some,I hope I can help you.
Bye

Indeed, that's why I recommend only the 3 main operators.
tnx guys!
I will give my Trin a new Radio rom and check what will happen then, it can't be that difficult I suppose
btw I used al the operators my phone was able to see, and it didnt make a difference..... strange....
If I have more problems, I will drop a line
tnx again

Cannot select manual network?

Hi,
I've purchased an unlocked TP2 from Clove and it seems to be working well, except for one irritating problem. I cannot select a network operator manually. I have the tab available but everytime I click on it, it gives me a 'device.exe' error.
I have been experiencing a lot of missed calls and my network operator suggested that I change the automatic settings to manual. This obviously did not happen and my callers continue to get a 'customer not reachable message'.
I tried calling HTC (India) and they had no idea on how to resolve this issue, partly because the TP2 hasn't been released here as yet.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
had the same missed calling problem, but it lies on the EDGE network where i always ON, change it to 3G and problem is gone. however, battery life decreased significantly
Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the 3G selection tab. I wonder if it's because the one I have is a Euro version? Will dig in deeper.
Thanks

Look under start\settings\phone\band change it to only use GSM and it will stop switching between bands, however data will be much slower on GSM than UMTS.
Cheers,
Beasty
Still no luck. Will keep on pegging at this.

Network Connetion Problems

hey guys, newbie here
i went throught the forums but didnt really find an answer to my problem with the TP2
my TP2 looses connectivity to the network pretty often. even though it shows a good connection to the network and i have good signals, i cant make calls or send sms until i switch to Airplane mode and then back to Phone mode. i read on the board that this problem might be because of the phone trying switch between 3G and GSM, so as they suggested i made the default network band as GSM and im still getting the same problem. plus from the past few days, i have pretty much stopped recieving international sms, which can get pretty fustrating if your girl is in another country
also i been looking for a way to reset the network settings
just for info, i am still running the with the original WM6.1 that came with it. th only updates have been for the radio version (gps thing) and sms hotfix
ROM : 1.19.415.1 (51489) WWE
Radio: 2.46.25.30
the network im on is Etisalat (3G network)
any help would be really appreciated
anyone

No mobile internet after FroYo update. (3 UK)

I got a desire from three before they started branding/locking them. So I have a unbranded desire, and did the FroYo OTA update.
Now the only connectivity I have is WIFI and normal signal for calls. No G, 3G or H.
What do? ..
fixed... :S
They told me to change my home page to their planet 3 and it worked..
still works when i change it back to google though
I have this problem too, exactly which settings did you change?
I faced same issue with another operator.
I check and found that APN settings was deleted.
You should try adding the APN settings again.

thanks that solved it!
and just posting for any other noobs like me!
click 3 under settings->wireless&networks->mobile networks->access point names
does your 3 skype client work with the official upgrade? I did not seem to work with the custom froyo roms
Same problem here but I can confirm that the APN setting needs to be re-enabled and then it's all good to go again. Panic averted!
