My Universal's Customized Extended ROM

Many people are asking me what I throw into my Extended ROM since I play around with tweaks and CAB files. Well, I decided to finalize most of it and make it available for public consumption.
Mind you, I have a Qtek 9000 (Universal) which I flashed to the JASJAR CE ROM which appears to be more stable, O2 XDA Exec Radio ROM, and the mix of CAB files from various devices plus my own concoction.

How flash from spv m5000 to jasjar ROM
Hello, I think I understand and apreciate your explain. but firstly I have to remove from the extended rom the .cab from orange and to add your files .cab, and then to make a hard reset. so after that my spv m 5000 will change to jasjar. sorry but I don't understand if with this files that we have to inserted in the extended rom will change my spv m5000 to imate jasjar. could you explain me that?

This will return the GlyphCache to 2000H (8192 bytes), the standard.

Just a small question: how can I modify the file Default_Unsigned_Regional_USA.sa to change the regional to Australia? Of course, if regional is Australia, the date format is dd MMM yy

I had to search for the particular keys that get changed, then set them in the CAB file.
Since I don't remember offhand what keys get changed, you can try opening the CAB file with OCP WinCE CAB Manager (www.ocpsoftware.com) then look in the Registry section for the keys and values.
Next, go ahead and use the Regional Settings to change to Australia and whatever else you need.
Then, use Resco Explorer or another Registry Editor to see what the new values are and pop them back into the CAB file. Done!

I do not seem to be able to find the following cab. Is it missing or have I gone mad?!?

My "particular" ExtROM.....

Hi...this mine "ExtROM"........I'm use it w/ my last WM6 ROM (based on LVSW's v2.0.1.1)....however i think that it should work on any rom (wm5 too...)
Its "particular".....I have inserted some useful programs BUT...nothing are installed (alias, copied to the device)!!...everything are alredy "installed" to extrom....
I'm created it for me....so, maybe its unuseful for everybody.....

So....now, after an HardReset, when the "Customization" popup appears, ONLY some shortcuts will be copied into your device (20 kb), and a few registry tweaks will be also installed (1/2 kb)...........but when you'll enter in the "Programs" directory these programs will be present:

You need to go to the wiki and find the cab which will unhide the extROM for you. Then in the extROM folder click shortcuts

I have collected the .cab of my preferites program, unpacked, compress the exe using UPX, edited the registry of each program, make the shortcuts from \Extended_ROM to StartMenu, packed all shortcuts and registry to a proper .cab and edited the config.txt to install it!
Finally a I merged all file into an .nb using a tool named "HTC ExtRom Editor" (u can find around the forum), and using NBHGen i have conerted it to .nbh.....ready to flash!

I was just wondering, how did you create the shortcuts into a cab file? I cannot seem to find your shortcuts.cab only shortcuts.cabtxt? I take it your shortcuts / registry settings are in shourtcuts.cabtxt? How did you create this file?
Also I cannot find your HSDPA /enable line in your config ?

Can ~WinCE Cab Manager create the shortcut/regedit cabs?

sd config tool final doesn't have the daemon that start at 1st flash, becouse a lot prefer to choice where install cabs, bwt the tool is on "impostazioni->sistema"

nope.... try to install the cab in one of my 3ds.... the link pstat into 19209 3d redirect to you to the cab of dsconfig tool, maybe isn't the last version, install that and try, into programs you can find the lnk file now...

it search all .cab files in your storage card, and list to you, ony have to select the ones you want to install, and it, one step one install for you, you only have to select where: into storage card or into the system folder!

yes by double tapping on the line at the end of the cell name (excell style) will expand the cell to visualize all the carachters and the horizontal scroll bar will appear. thanks again ervius - very very useful tool. ciao

Taken OUT: Wellcome Center,Mp3 songs from htc,Windows Update,Htc Show (starting Video).
What's In?Opera build 1938,NetCf 3.5, PCtoUSB updated (Active Synch, Mass Storage, Internet Sharing), Manila updated to v.1.2.34591.1_1813,and other HTC apps.
Extra APPS:WkTask (configured and already in italian),PsshutXP (Already configured to OFF Button. Just Press & Hold the Power Off Button and PsShut will popup), Obex Index (Configured to receive Bluetooth files directly to "Memorizzazione interna").
The "3" Diamond configuration programs (shaps,Diamond tf3d and Diamond Config),pocket RAR,GSen (autostart disabled. I have Found that autostarting Gsen could make manilla Crash), Power SMS (usefull tool for SMS.SMS count,multiple send ecc ecc. It can be found in start menu just under "messaggi").
Diamond Caluclator SKIN,Diamond Windows Media Player SKIN,Force VGA, FinixNOver battery (colored with %), Clear temp(To Remove Junk and Temp files),
Oxios Memory(To clean diamond Memory from unesed .dll), PimBackup, commManager with 3g Icon .... and finally...

First Of All A great THANK YOU to ALPHA ZERO,DIB, And all the great guys on XDA like FinixNover for his battery and all the guys with all the diamond Tweaks Programs.
This is my second Rom but the first here on XDA.
What's there in the rom? All HTC updated applications, Wtask in Italian already configured, FinixNover battery Meter (colourful battery with percentage), Manila Carbon theme, Advance config, Clear Temp, Diamond TF3d Config, Diamond Tweak Italian 0.5, OPERA Browser 9.5 1938, Oxios memory, pimBackup, pocket Rar, psShutXp.
What was removed? Windows update, initial movie HTC, Wellcome center, mp3s songs.
Why should I use it if I already use the HaVeN 1.0.1 19965? If you want a pda with already included and configured applications like Wtask, FinixNover Battery with more tweak and various hints (scrolling with the pads "wheel", wakeupsms etc. etc.) it is for you….
How much RAM do I have at start? Memory storage 68.34mb. Memory Program 51.51.
On what is this rom based? It is based on ATOR6 which in turn is based on the Official HTC 1.93.
What of yours is in this rom? All configuration via registry keys of Wtask and psshutXp.
Some optimizations feasible with Shaps Advance config already made for a better fluency in manila, better sensitivity of the screen, possibility of scroll through menus via the touch pad at circle of the diamond pad, turning on the screen in case of receiving SMS, optimization cache graphics and other 3 or 4 things.
I don’t use wtask, what shall I do? It can be disabled, just go to the program settings. You must hold at the top right in home and press preferences-> scroll down up to Automatic Implementation -> disables. However, I think I have it configured in an optimum manner. It’s the only program that lets you switch from one application to another without having to return to home. I would say that it is the best software that there is once you understand it. You can close open programs simply by holding down on the icon and selecting Stop.
In a Screen appears a different background. I want it! It should be located in the gallery images. Save the image of your pda and use it as wallpaper.
Gsen not work propely what should i do? Disable Graphic interface for x/ok button in Wktask settings.
NOTE PagePool its setted at 0.
You can easly change Your pagepool following your self needs.For Italian Guys You can find a guide HERE.

1) Where/how did you configured S2U2 and wktask? Did you insert regkeys directly into hive files?
2) Are you able to remove SQM, SqlceMobile and Catalog from the rom...if yes, but you don't wnat or have not time for this, can explaine to me how can I do?
3) What have I do to upgrade SQL?

1) I have created a file called confighaven.provxml with inside all my registry tweaks and all the configuration keys for wktask and s2u2.
i have put this file inside OEM\OperatorPKG.
in this folder ther's also a file called config_operator.txt.
i have added this line to that file : XML: \WINDOWS\confighaven.provxml
so the config_operator now its:
LOCK:Enabled
TSK: \WINDOWS\HTC Black.tsk
XML: \WINDOWS\Menu_Operation.xml
CAB: \WINDOWS\HTCMMSProviderCAB_20080506.CAB
XML: \WINDOWS\confighaven.provxml
CFG: \WINDOWS\config_PT.txt
So at startup,when he start to set the theme (HC_black.tsk ecc ecC)he load he load also my configuration file that set all my registry tweaks and configuration for softwares,adding them to windows registry.
i have done it without any guide .... i just followed my sense and tried out many times... dunno if this is the right and easiest mode to edit registry but it simply WORKS.
now i can set all my registry tweak and optimization simply adding registry key to confighaven.provxml.
this is a part of my looong confighaven.provxml:

Hi haven,how much ram could we gain using manila 2d?and the visual effect should be still good enough?
I haven't seen screenshots of this rom you're talking about.
Keep up the good work (by now,i'm with TOR 2.2,still testing)

in my p3600 manila 2d its really really fast.. and the visual effects are good...
i think ther's a gain of 6/10 mb of ram with manila 2d.
im preparing a ultra light version with batterystatus and other today plugins without tf3d.

But it always shows full charge...i tried installing it in 4gb memory and in device memory,same result...obviously i soft resetted after installation.
Is this batterystatus the same kind of stuff?'cos i tried greenbatteryfix too,but didn't like it so much,so i'm still ins earch of something like that

i780: wm6.5 TITANIUM+WEATHER+HINTS+Needfull-Things4W6.5+2be?olved *new 15.04.09*

- the titanium plugin changed from 3.a to 3.b (Temperature units Option Fix, minor cosmetic change).

update (!!!new!!!):
The weather-bug is solved!!! Now every i780-user could use weather information in the "windows-default"/"Titanium" plugin in. Remember, it only works with wm6.5. The problem was the resolution in the used cpr-file. i modified the Titanium_320x320.cpr and now the weather plugin runs!
Just follow the steps, and you will have a really nice weather plugin in the standard wm6.5 today panel:
1. flash a wm6.5 rom on your i780
2. be sure to be able to use wifi or grps, because the weather plugin needs data from the net
3. Disable Titanium (windows default plugin) in Settings -> Today -> Items
3. Install Showaco's Titanium Weather - QVGA Version - by mnemonique v3.a (link below)
4. overwrite the existing Titanium_320x320.cpr (\windows) with my modified file (link below)
5. soft reset the device.
6. enable the Titanium
7. Scroll up to titanium weather v3 in Today's Panel and on the panel to start Setup or
8. Select/Click Setup in right soft key.
9. Highlight 3) Configure Forecast Options/Setup, Click OK
10. Configure Zip or Location Code | Temperature Units
info: find your location code in the txt-file below, f.e.:
City Name = "Bremen, DE" Location = "EUR|DE|GM005|BREMEN" Country = "Germany"
then the location code to be entered is: EUR|DE|GM005|BREMEN
11. after you've configure the settings, Select Cancel in right soft key to display Main Menu
12. Highlight 2) Run Full Update and exit

Here i´ll place community questions about the Titanium-Plugin (especially i780 related), which you post me and couldn´t be answered yet - may be you know the solution? I´ll post the solution and the publisher name after you post me the answer via PM.
1. everytime i got a voicemail-notification (via sms from my mailbox), the voicemail-panel doesn´t show anything, still "no new voicemails", what to do? (asked by dennito)
Hint-list:
1. Wrong picture-Path:
there is no registry part editable but a very simple way to make your pictures on the storage card visible in the today panel.
solution: just rename your existing folder on the storagecard where the fotos are in f.e.: from "my pictures" to "pictures" - or create a new folder "pictures" on the storage card and put your picture files in there. that´s all - now all your photos will be shown in the today panel - have fun!
Needfull-Things4W6.5:
I think it´s time to expand this thread, i offer a small bundle (see zip file below) of needfull things to make the daily usage with the wm6.5 rom´s a little bit more easy/comfortable. The offered programs i am using day4day are:
1. autolock: this tool locks the todayscreen automatically if you press the power-button once
2. a jpg-file in 320x320 realllllly nice for the daily background (thx mascian)
3. comm manager: the ported htc-comm manager to expand the (bad) build in connection manager
4. honeycomb startmenue: the selection style in the start menue will look a bit smarter (thx mascian)
5. ibattery: a really nice battery indicator
6. soft-reset: just a small tool to make a reset without anything more
7. SRS-WOWHD: amazing tool (wm6.5 modified), which will really upgrade your sound-quality! important to know:first install the cab, second you have to install the driver with f.e. resco file explorer, the standard file explorer from windows won´t allow the registry installation - after install, reset, then modify it as you like it in start->settings->system!
8. resco file explorer (trial): very good (touchable) file explorer
9. FingerSuite: very usefull app which replaces standard menu and messagebox for our windows mobile devices - top! link:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459125

As reported by pocketnow.com, you can always count on xda developers.
Note that this only allow you to add remove item, not customized the picture album folder and weather etc.
Continuing our reports of the "Windows Mobile 6.5 isn't even out yet but..." XDA Developers wrote an application called Titanizer, based on early leaks, that will allow users to customize the Home Screen of the upcoming Operating System, called Titanium.
Titanizer requires Flash 7 installed and once executed (needs no installation) can be used to disable or move around tabs in the Titanium interface the same way it was possible to customize TouchFLO 3D tabs.

for me the weather update works after following your description. I'm using krizky82's WM 6.5 ROM. Just installed the weather plugin, so will report back later if I can see any bug.

I am also runing krizky82's ROM but I couldn't overwrite the file in the windows directory. What is wrong??

This is 96dpi right? Is it possible to have a 128dpi WM6.5 ROM for i780?

Try this (as attached), it looks much better on 96dpi, just replace this file in "\Windows" directory

the windows build in explorer won´t overwrite system datas, you need sbp explorer or wincommander to overwrite the file.

Thanx. I was using Resco Explorer but it didn't work. I tried Total Commander and it is working now.
BTW, the Titanizer Titanium today plugin I posted a few post before cannot work with this weather plugin add on.

i know this matter, but i don´t know how to fix it. for me it works in celsius - may be the location code is responsible to change the units automatically. i entered the location code from my city in germany and everything is shown in celsius.
