Upgrade mini S camera module - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I took my XDA mini S appart (as you do) and noticed that the camera module is very easy to remove/replace. Then i got to thinking "could i find the same module with a higher resolution?"
Is it possible to get another module of say 2MP or even 3MP that i could just slot in?
If anyone has done this or has any ideas it would be ace to hear for you
thanx for looking.

As far as I know no one has done it... I do have the mini S with me now and the camera is fine...but the resolution is small than the Orbit (2MP)..That is all.

Full screen Camara (Noob question)

Just got my new xda2s, and wanted to know if there was a patch or something to make the camara full screen like my old xda2 in capture and video mode, or is that just the way it is now.

Is there no way to make the camera output work full screen and unlike the xda II the zoom doesnt seem to work.. or is there something been done wrong?
bR
To zoom you must reduce the resolution of the picture in manage picture settings (bit of a scam really)
i too would like to know about the full screen camera function like the old xda's cause my mate has one and i prefer that better to the small screen version on the M2000
Yeah, bizarre that, there must be a registry hack to allow the zoom to be used in standard capture mode? Mine works fine in video, but not in photo mode!
I must admit that when I bought by Blue Angel, I didn't really consider the camera other than to note thats its only 640x480 - there are just TOO many other toys to play with. But after having used it a couple of times, it would have been nicer to have a higher resolution, zoom etc, but what the heck, this is a PDA/phone, not a Nikon
All I do to get a "zoom" is crop & resize the images in paintshop pro before printing them.

Camera - green capture screen instead of picture

Hey folks!
Datasheet of my device:
SPL 1.40 olipro Bootloader (Hard-SPL)
Previous ROM: Faria-R32 / Dr Puttingham WM6.1 STORM KLICK
With Faria-R32 cam worked perfectly.
Installed a several new ROMs today, then installed important apps for me over Device Update.
Problem:
The camera is working, but the screen is totally weired and green if I start the cam app. The menues are there, but it looks like a green tv with no right installed terrestrial antenna (Tried CoolCamera also, the same). What am I doing wrong?
No matter if camera app is included in the ROM or if I install over Device update...the problem's always the same...
Till yesterday everything went fine with cam...
Anyone a hint or is this a known problem?
Thanks in advance!
Greets
I had this problem also
I fixed it by opening her up and reseating the camera and little pcb board next to it.
It worked for me
Make sure when you close her back up that the closeup lever and backplate align.
i have the same problem
@MystaMagoo : you think this is a hardware problem? Could it be the camera driver?
No, opening the Trion and adjusting the camera system didn't help...
But there is something weired. When I intall Coreplayer, and activate ATI Imageon Video Output, I got the same weired green screen playing videos. If I switch to the others (DirectDraw...) I can watch the video.
Software issue?
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!
i jus got my camera working, i just made a new hard spl 3.28 and it is all good now!!!

Record Video From Front & Rear Camera?

Wasn't sure if if this should go in General, Q & A, or Apps..
In any case, I'm wondering if there's any way or any app out there which would allow for recording a video at the same time from both the front facing and rear facing camera?
For example, as a motorsports enthusiast who goes to track days at times on road courses, I think it would be very neat if I were able to attach the phone to the windshield using a suction mount with the rear camera facing the front of the vehicle and have a way to record a video with both the video feed from the rear facing camera (showing the view out the front of the vehicle) as well as from the front facing camera (showing the view out the rear of the vehicle) and have the app do a PiP (picture in picture) of the video. It would be a lot more easy and slick than using two separate camera's/video sources, and then later having to time sync them using some type of video editing software on a pc.
Just a random thought I had and figured I'd throw it out there for information..

Sounds like an extraordinary idea for an app!
don't know if it's possible.
I will try lol
but i don't think theres any app out there who can do it,
Yeah, I've searched around and haven't found an app that does anything like what I describe, but I'd have to think it's gotta be possible to query both of the video signals from each camera at the same time and then put them together and save it to the SD card. I'm certainly not a dev or programmer, but with as versatile as Android is I'd be surprised if it's technically not possible, just maybe no one with the know how has felt there was enough desire/interest for such an app,...yet.
This sounds like a great idea but not to sure our phones could handle the over head needed for that multitask. Maybe one of the newer phones with dual core could but I doubt this one could. Now that I said that someone will prove me wrong

[Q] p52XX Camera Mod

Hey everybody!
There was something that caught my attention lately and I wanted to ask a dev if he could give a look to it.
Supposedly the rear camera module on the 10.1inch models (and possibly 7.0inch ones) supports 1080p video recording and the front facing one 720p. Could somebody give a look on the kernel/drivers and media_profiles.xml (possibly the camera app too) and try to enable them?
Thanx in advance!

Camera video problem

Hi. i just purchased a note 8 pro, for the most part satisfied, however i noticed something when i record 4k videos using the stock camera app. basically the phone cant keep up with the fast camera movements. im not sure if there is a term for this problem, but you can see it in the video below, when i move the phone, the change in the display cannot keep up with the movement. i have to wait for the camera to update and its annoying.. is there a way to fix this, or is it a hardware limitation?
