pause in dialstrings not possible?

Due to that problem, I've been in contact with HTC and O2 Germany.
O2 Hotline has no solution.
HTC says it works if you will put a 'p' into the number.
e.g. +4917955222p5 for the o2xda service hotline.
I've tried it,
also +4917955222w5
and +4917955222,5
but the orbit stops dialing always after the last '2'
O2XDA Orbit RomVersion 1.25.207.1GER RadioVersion 02.67.90 ProtokollVersion 4.1.13.28 ExtRomVersion 1.25.207.101
perhaps it works with other radio versions?
any idea?

It should work OK, mine has a similar number for voicemail using the access number and the "p" followed by the PIN code. Tried it in both speed dial and contacts and both work fine, this is with the UK version of Orbit ROM 1.25.206.2 and radio 02.67.90.
Have you tried setting up a contact to say another mobile number and adding the p plus some numbers to see if that works after the call is answered, that way it might prove whether its definitely a device issue?

Help Please - 02 XDA Orbit - Official 02 UK WM6 ROM - Can't Make or receive calls

Hi,
I bought an O2 orbit from Ebay which has the 02 official WM6 rom installed.
But it can't can't Make or receive calls.
But when I put my Virgin SIM, the Signal strength bar is in full, The network seems to be seletced as T-Mobile UK.
But can't dial out...no Dial tone
When I try to ring my Mobile, the voice message says 'Can't connect to this number at the moment'
Please HELP

I know this may not help MUCH but the fact that your mobile is saying T-Mobile instead of Virgin is normal - Virgin pay to use T-Mobile's infratructure as far as I know so it is normal to see it say T-Mobile.
Have you tried other SIM cards? Get a free O2 sim card and try calling it, or use a friends SIM, etc.
Also, have you tried flashing the Radio ROM? I don't know if it has changed over time or if there are any updates but try flashing a new one if you can find one.
Also, someone on this forum once managed to get ahold of the ROM O2 use to unbrick XDA ORBIT devices - the repair guy left his MicroSD card in the device and the ROM used to unbrick devices was on it - it had Windows Mobile 5 on it and was the original version. See if you can get ahold of that ROM and flash it. Or just try and flash the WM6 ROM from O2 again.

need help with my htc s621, was using it in Vancouver/ Canada;
couple of mounts ago used a service here to unlock it and was able to use it in Iran while I am staying;but with some problem;
on regional/Locale there is no Iran in the country list, there is problem that I think it is related to it;
when I make a call using the keypad, the call will be ended so it won't make a call, but if i save the number into the phone book and call the number from there; then it works, to mention that I changed the locale to Sweden, because this way at least i can make a call from phone book, and when I get a call can not return the all using the number, because it will add the country code to the number, so I have to enter into phone book and remove the country code then be able to use it.
anyway I can make this work?
some kind of ROM update ?
I have searched many local shops here, but there are other models of htc around but not excalibur to get some help;
appreciate any help;

Hi,
I am also in Vancouver although my phone is a T-Mobile Dash that I got on eBay. You really have a different problem here. I assume that you are using an Iranian SIM card when in Iran and not your Rogers/Fido SIM.
Another guy I work with has a Rogers s621 and even though I unlocked and flashed his ROM for him (originally to the Kavanna 6.1 and now to the EVO 6.5 ROM) he had trouble on trips to China with his China Mobile SIM which itself needed to be unlocked to use it. He ended up buying a phone over there instead.
I assume you are still using the Rogers 6.0 ROM, which is better than the T-Mobile but far behind either of the two I listed above. I would flash to Ookba's 3VO ROM, it is really great and runs beautifully. But follow the direction to the letter, don't skip any steps. I have no idea if it will solve your particular problem, but even if it won't you'll be a lot happier with the phone using it here in BC.

yes I still have the Rogers 6.0 ROM; and use an Iranian SIM card;
I wonder if I upgrade and then some problem occurs is it possible to downgrade to what I have, perhaps a way to backup the ROM I have.

As long as you follow the instructions on my previous post al should be ok, but in case it fails you can always go back and install another ROM, but believe me if you install any new ROM (6.1 or 6.5) you´ll be so happy that you won´t want to go back

it is very nice, I like it but the name of my country Iran is missing in this version also,
by the way I believe this ROM is application unlocked, I wonder why I can not install any application on it;
I searched online and found couple of free apps fo wm 6.5 but it won't be installed. I have not got any error or something.
some of the apps will go half and some up to the end but I don't find it anywhere.
any idea why?
if anyone has installed an application on htc s621 using same ROM please provide a name and a link to download if possible.

I don't know if this will help, or whether you have already tried it. You would probably have to do this while in Iran with the Iranian SIM card in the phone. Try entering your settings menu, All Settings > Phone > More > Networks > Menu > Preferred Networks. Scroll down to see if your Iranian network is shown with all the other international choices.
I have no idea how this list is generated, I assume it is by Rogers/Fido here in Vancouver. But you may have a political problem on your hands rather than technical. Are the sanctions against Iran reaching to some organization of cellular providers and the Iranian carriers are being blocked by them from being on the list? I don't know the answer, you would know a lot more about what is restricted in Iran (from within or without) than I would.

OK; Here is what append with my phone;
I upgraded to 3VOLUTION series to see if the dialing problem will be solved or not, everything was OK after installation no errors or something, but as for the calling, as my phone had problem calling out using keypad, now this time after upgrading to wm6.5 my phone could not dial from phone book either,
so practically useless phone, it could only receive calls.
I searched for a solution online , did not find any answer, looked around phone shops here in my city, until I found a guy that said he can make it work, he had a box so in less than 20 minutes did something and phone start working properly, I can make a call from keypad and phone book no problem,
and in the location status the country of Iran is not listed either I am not sure what he did using the box.
I did asked the guy if I upgrade or downgrade WM can the same thing happen again, he was not sure.
I am thinking of downgrading to 6.1 since there are not much application found for 6.5.
but I don't want to pay the guy again for the same thing.
does anyone know of this things?
what he actually did with the box that can not be done without it?

T-mobile software branding, keeps me from using mobile data in sweden?

I'm writing to you all as a recent user of my new htc desire which I
orderd from germany on Handyattacke.de and using it in Sweden, Gothenburg.
Handyattacke said it was a sim unlocked mobile with T-mobile software branding.
Now to the problem.
When I yesterday started to use the phone i quickly realized that the phone refuses to accept my Swedish opperators APN details... I've tried with diffrent simcards with same results.
I've even spoken with a nice lady on HTC customers support, who haven't been able to help and checked that my swedish operators (which I'm also working for) are correct.
What the hells should I do.
I want to be able to use my mobile data surf.
A friend of mine spoke about rooting the phone. Would that change and coulod the rooting chnage the software into swedish firmware.
Would appriciate all the help I could get.

When you say that it "refuses" to accept your operators APN details what do you mean?
I'm assuming you are entering them manually into Menu->Settings->Wireless & Networks->Mobile Networks->Access Point Names? Once you've entered them, are you pressing menu and then Save?

That's correct mate and on order from the bird at Htc support center.
However. When I save and try to connect it says that the connection fail...
I'm so botherd and handyattacke.de even reply my questions.

so u mean u now can't make calls with it or sms with it? well, i've got another weird problem.. i bought a lg o2x which comes with a vodafone software-branding.. the seller said that it is sim and net-unlocked.. and i'm using an O2 sim... i can make calls and sms with it.. but i cant use the mobile internet... so.. have u tried the 'rooting' stuff ? did you manage to delete the software branding?

[Rezolved] Can't send SMS with CM11 (FreeMobile (france) carrier)

I've got a XZ1c, after my Samsung i9100, and i got the same issue : I can't send SMS with CM11.
On the Z1c and the i9100, i've tried to setup the SMSC with different method (regular number, encoded), and nothing change.
I've put my simcard on another phone (samsung S7710), with genuine android (the one from the manufacturer), and i'm able to send sms.
My mobile carrier is FreeMobile (France). I've change the phone, not the OS. I've tried with another simcard from FreeMobile, and i got the same issue. I think this is a Cyanogen problem. I've got this problem 5-6 month ago.
At a moment, I was able to send SMS, but only when my phone was connected on a FreeMobile relay, on "roaming" on an Orange relay, it wasn't possible to send any SMS. Now it's impossible, even the Z1c connected on a FreeMobile relay.
What do you think? Have you any idea?

Have you tried checking the APN settings for the carrier? good place to start.

It's late, but i just fixed my problem. The sim card was in cause. Free Mobile send me a new one. It appears that's a known problem!
The people on HL just wake up, i'm really pissed! I waited for months, wiped my phone and called multiple time ! :crying:
