Hey iwas also interested in searching a bluejacking app. but i did ot find any program for windows mobile smartphone or exclaibur en general so far... If someone knows a speciel app, please let us know!
hmm...
i just might know but give me an hour or so, let me try it on my phone - i don't have any bluetooth phones at the moment that i can try but i'll post back in an hour with the results once my brother comes home.
hmmm...so far, no luck...tried 3 programs and they don't work....can someone chime in?
Hey, I've been looking for the same, I've tried Sniperand with no luck, one free app called keep bluechattin' but it is too limited, another one called Mobiluck, working fine, with some limitations, (haven't found a serial or crack), and there's another I haven't tried, called "My2thing"... If someone finds a better one, I'll be glad to know too. Greetings!
Same here. Dash App
I came across six apps. None of them seem to work.. I will keep looking. If I find anything, I will keep you all posted

Without access to the /system (ie root) then no...no we can't! ****..this lame as application is gonna ruin this phone isn't it?
I saw that too and wasn't happy. I hate to have to root my phone and image it just to get rid of that application. It hasn't asked again since the first time. Hopefully it wont ask again!

Its not verizon i had it on my alltel touch pro and i think it just puts the city name when someone you don't know calls you. It never stopped doing that for me after the trial was up and it never popped up saying i need to pay. So it might just be an extra icon you have ti live with.
It is defiantly always running in the background!

Just because it isn't exclusive to Verizon, doesn't mean its not crappy bloatware.
+1 on getting rid of this when root is achieved.
I'm new to Android to so I apologize if this is totally out there. CityID is part of the ROM so it is protected. But I imagine that Cequint must be able to push out an update for CityID or their libraries from time to time.
What if we made our own version of CityID with the same manifest that did nothing and installed it using "Unknown sources"? Would Android see our newer version and use that instead?
Is this possible or do we need to wait for root access?
If you ForceClose it the trial returns to 15 days LOL.
There are some reverse lookup apps that show the name of the caller. Skydeck is well reviewed and I'm testing it.
When my trial period ended it asked if I wanted to keep my subscription and I hit no. It then allowed me to uninstall. Has anyone else had this happen for them?

I guess I have 1 day before it expires, hope your right.
I wander if the idiot that designed the program actually gets money from people.

Ok my free trial ran out last night, but this lame excuse of a program still runs for no reason, but to spy on my phone.
I was not able to remove the program.
This is a good reason to root this phone.
Ok so im new here and im new to the smartphone user crowd but I am pretty good with computers and think I may have found a way to remove City ID (and any other apps preloaded or not) from the Incredible. I was playing around last night and found an "Uninstall" button for City ID but I being a new user to Smartphones and honestly not yet willing to destroy my baby hehe was afraid to press it. Anyways for those (if any) of you out there are willing to try it and see what happens (im not held liable for anything if it goes wrong this is strictly your decision)..here is how you find the button:
1) Enter Astro File Manager (by default it takes you to your SD Card)
2)Hit the "UP" button, it will take you to your phone storage directory.
3)Choose the "System" folder.
4)Choose the "app" folder.
5)Scroll to "City ID". Click on it.
6)Choose "Open App Manager".
7)Voila..there is your button.
Please post if this works..alongside with any side effects etc..it would be greatly appreciated. Hope this helps someone.
Also posted this on XDA-Developers. Look there for replies too if it works. i sure hope so anyways. Search "City ID... how do you uninstall?".

No, it doesn't work. We have root now, so you can uninstall it. Someone posted directions somewhere. You just use the rm command from the terminal.
With this removed, do you still get city/state information (I imagine you would as Verizon advertises "Caller ID" as one of it's services). Was this just some moot/redundant app left in to try and make some money off of suckers?

Caller ID is name and phone number.
The translation from phone number to City/State is what CityID does. When removed, there is no display of City/State, but you still get Name and Phone number. As the translation of phone number to City/State for mobile phones is patented by the makers of CityID, Verizon can't provide that service without using the CityID application.
In recent days my account balance is continuously being cut to 0 from my account. I cant figure out why this is happening. So i want to know if XDA cost me anything over the data charges bcause i have a gprs plan already activated for my number. And the customer care is giving me a silly reason of downloading some paid java stuff on my device. But its impossible as i am just opening the XDA app and facebook. I wonder how this can happen.. its almost impossible. Is my service provider cheating with me...?????

Dude, you are barking @ the wrong tree. Talk to your operator.
what do you think i havent consulted them, I've been talking to them from a week but even after couple of long talks the result they gave is same that I've downloaded some paid Java stuff and I was just crawling on XDA application and Facebook mainly... so that's why I thought to consult you guys... and Please, don't let me be at the worst of mine because I'm your father in these kinda talks... if you don't know about it then thank you.... for wasting your worthless time Here. And don't show me your name even anymore. You better step back from where you are standing... it's you who is messing with a wrong guy rather...

Look, it is not XDA fault that you have a ****ty operator giving you trouble. XDA app (or Tapatalk) is normal web client using HTTP (a.k.a. browser). No paid Java stuff or whatever. You will not solve your problem here. If you operator sucks, go choose a different one (a.k.a. vote with your legs/wallet).

Exactly. Its related to your operator problem - they are simply making false statements to avoid giving back the credit.
Thanks for confirming my friend... I was not sure about it that's why I asked about it... now I can make the operator feel guolity cost somewhere I was having a doubt in my mind... sorry if I said something *****y to someone... don't really mean that.....

From the profile information, I can see you are using Tata Docomo, and offcourse their customer care people sucks. Ask them, what exactly the paid java game you have download, and I am sure they wont be able to tell you the name.
Better option, move your current number to better service provider. You will miss the cheap internet plans of Docomo though, but atleast you will not get zero balance.
Xda doesn't cost anything to access beyond usual data costs which everyone should have in their plan.
So I'd ask your provider for the exact date and time of the alleged download, and the server it was downloaded from... I think they will soon realise they don't have the info
So, I was just looking to see if Smart Remote had been updated to include something that they promised me would be coming up soon, and it was not there in my list of apps in the play store. Doing a Google search brings up nothing! Why am I posting here? Because this app was recommended by HTC, both on their blog, and in their recommended section in the play store! HTC has even deleted their blog post. I paid $10 for this app! Does anyone have an explanation? I'm feeling very ripped off right now, and I can't help but blame HTC, at least partially, as I only got the app because of their recommendation (which, to add insult to injury, they've deleted!).

Thanks, but try reading my question first. I was asking if anybody knew what happened. I already contacted the play store and got a refund, so that's not even the point of this thread.
Anyways, for anyone interested, there's an ongoing thread in the S4 forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2351176
Was this the one made my TouchSquid? I had a few issues with it myself and got my refund from the developer last month, but a few days ago I got an email from them telling me to try this

Its another remote but made by a different person?
