Thanks Shadowmite, you save me a lot of time in hacking the registry on Japanese keyboard and clock display. Certainly, some more in performance.

was wondering when you were going to make your own thread

Is this the Version Bundled with V2.5?
Just wondering if this version of HTCustom Tweak is the same as the one bundled with the latest Custel V2.5 ROM.

its in the one that I JUST posted.

HTCustom
Thought so...
Not to beat a hornet's nest, but based on the screenshots it looks like some additional functionality and lay-out changes have been implemented since JJ's initial UI.
Looking forward to using it...

Problem with dd/MMM/yy...
I am having problems with the following format; dd/MMM/yy.
I changed the format and I still received the dropped 7 in the date. I read the wiki did the registry tweak, and used this prog as well. Still no dice. i'm on a plane now getting ready to head to NYC, so if u have any ideas I'd appreciate it.

If you are having the dropped last digit, add at least 2 spaces to the END of your custom string. If that's not enough do one more...

can you put there version number on the front page of the app please so we can see which one we have installed. i looked but couldnt find it

Are you looking in the titlebar?

yes but when you have the date and time up there like most of us do the version is cut off all i see is V1
i just did a hard reset or i would post a screen shot for u

Noproblem, releasing 1.3 in a few moments including that change, plus a few others, see the first post...

Downloaded your source code ,but I just can not open the .sln file.
VS 2005 Just told me:"Error retrieving information from user datastore. Platform not found."
What platform do i need?
new to this kind of things.

Resolved.
It needs WM5 SDK to be installed, I had only WM6 SDK installed.
Studying now.

Cingular 8125
I've got an 8125 w/WM5, but cannot see this one after installing (tried many times). Also, after installing, I see "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile software."
Does anyone have any suggestions? I *really* want to try this one out!
Thanks,
Rufus

look in the /windows folder for HTCustom and make sure you have the latest version of .net framework, he may have forgot the shortcut again

Rufus, it says that with the hermes as well (because its WM6 not WM 5). Keep in mind that this changes specific registry settings and those are probably not a good idea to try on the 8125. I don't think it'll hurt it too bad, but the settings may not take well.

Ok, I've updated the rom with HTC Network wizard 1.0. This one includes network settings for Japan and other countries as well.
I don`t know if you are aware of the PIE slow scrolling bug that is/was present in 3.60 ROMs
If you already fixed it, ignore this post, if not there is a fix in the pandora kitchet threat, or you can see my post history, you will find it both ways in case you need it

me too. it's better if htc home, htc task manager put seperated as a cab. anyway i like your roms very much.... so stable, fast and clean!
@X01HTuser:

@hang.tuah, @jarotbudhi:
here ya go ..
error keyboard mapping?
I found that there are some errors on the keyboard layout. If I typed "!", it shows "~", the "?" shown as "@" and so on. Could you fix it? Beside that, overall it is good.
use the AdvancedConfig_v1.0 floating around here, this will help your keyboard probs.
@dextran:
I'll do that in next ROM release ...
@dhn_ndn:
Oops .. I'm using Softbank X01HT so I've set the keyboard layout in this ROM to fit Japanese layout:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="197649"
I've attached the cabs to change the keyboard layout for Tytn and 8525 .. take your pick! Don't forget to power off your phone and then power back on when you have finished. Soft reset will not make the changes stick.
@X01HTuser
Thanks!
sakajati hows your new rom coming along, can't wait for it. And keep up the great work.
Phone Reboots
First off love the ROM.
Fast and does the Job.
Only problem i have come across is with the HTC Home plug-in.
I click on weather and select my location being Cape Town, South Africa.
I was amazed to see it there without me having to edit the XML file.
Anyways i select Cape Town, South Africa it connects to HSPDA or 3G and then bam black screen and my phone restarts.
I am going to try using a different Home Plug-in and edit the XML file like i normally do. To see if it solves the problem.
Will post a reply if it works.
Thx for the great ROM.

The aim of this ROM is to create one that looks and feels as stock as possible, while still getting the latest and greatest in there. IT IS 'STOCK' IN LOOK AND FEEL.
How to install
Install HardSPL on your device from here
Ensure the device is hooked up and ActiveSync is showing 'green'
Run this update to flash your device
That's it, you're done!
Known issues
None
YOU MUST READ THIS
TouchFLO 3D has been repacked for this release to allow uninstall and future upgrade without a whole new ROM core. There are two implications of this.
1. When you do the first boot and it installs stuff, the TouchFlo install will appear to freeze, and will take a number of minutes to complete. Don't worry, it IS working, there are just circa 950 files to install! Be patient, and all will be well. Go get a beer. Talk to the wife. The watched pot never boils. etc.
2. If you want to uninstall TouchFLO 3D (from the regular remove programs) menu, you MUST disable it from Start -> Settings -> Today, and then you MUST be aware that uninstall will take a LONG time. Actually, not a LONG time but a REALLY REALLY REALLY LONG time. You will probably think it has crashed or isn't going to work, but have faith - it will.
Credits
Paul for AppToDate, everyone who installed the last ROMs, XDA-Devs for HardSPL & CustomRUU (Olipro, cmonex!). You all rock!
And Finally
If you find any issues, post them here and i'll do my best to fix!

Downloading now, thanks
Hi TLR,
thanks for the new version... i have been using your ROM since V1
Downloading the ROM now and will provide feedback.
Once again, thank you.
I will download this and try it tonight - thanks
I only took the plunge to TLR2 the other day, and every morning when I pick up the phone (which has been charging overnight). I can't wake it up. It appears off, but if I pull the stylus out, the hard buttons light up. The only way I can do anything is to press the Soft Reset red button. Any ideas??
Any info on free memory, speed and 2G compatibility?
Regards,
Carty..
Thanks for the new version, still going to bug you about adding the excellent HTC Cube, do you think it might be possible at some point ?
Hey T.
Thanks for this new contribution.
btw, may we count on an updated cab of manila?

Hi! To be sure: in V3, you used the touchflow with less animations I presume? If so, is this .cab file the version wíth the animations?
Reason I'm asking: I like these animations/effects and I don't mind missing the extra speed
Thanks TLR,
Will give it a do - at some point but I just installed Diamond Project ROM

About GNes
GNes is an app that rotates the screen according to the G-Sensor or according to the setting for a specific application.
Most important, GNes is designed to conserve CPU and battery power.
Settings:
- Global settings are for all applications that are not specifically listed
- Disabling all rotations modes means that the application will use the last active rotation mode
- GNes will not activate the G-Sensor in case that there is no or one rotation mode selected, but it will rotate the screen if necessary.
- By setting one rotation mode to an application you can decide what screen orientation the application will use.
This default settings could be personalized using AutoRun:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\bepe\gnes]
"Enable"=dword:00000001
"Global"=dword:0000000F
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\bepe\gnes\exclude]
"HTCAlbum.exe"=dword:00000000
"Camera.exe"=dword:00000000
"Opera9.exe"=dword:00000000
"Manila.exe"=dword:0000000F
"Labyrinth.exe"=dword:00000000
Auto Run Support
After flashing the ROM the device will boot up and do some final install steps followed by a reset.
Before that reset you can add your own personal settings or install cab's that you want to be automatically installed after a hard reset.
To use this feature you need to create this text file to the root of you the Internal Storage:
\<Internal Storage>\sdconfig.txt
IMPORTANT: While of the first boot the name of the "Internal Storage" will be just "Storage" for all languages, which will make things easier
SDconfig content:
Install a cab file
CAB: \Storage\Install\sample.cab
NOTE: Set the read only attribute for the cab files, else the cab's get deleted after install
Executing a Provisioning XML File
XML: \Storage\Install\sample.xml
Executing an Executable
EXEC:\Storage\Install\sample.exe argument
Including another config file
CFG: \Storage\Install\sampleconfig.txt
To add personal registry settings you can use Provisioning XML Files or make a cab, but there is an easier way:
EXEC:\Windows\regimport.exe \Storage\Install\sample.rgu
RGU file means Unicode Registry file
...so it MUST be Unicode!!
The first line MUST be "REGEDIT4"
The last line MUST be empty!
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\IconConfig]
"HorizontalIconSpacing"=dword:70
"VerticalIconSpacing"=dword:73
"IconTitleFontSize"=dword:6
Code:
delete a whole key:
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MyKey]
delete one value:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MyKey]
"MyValue"=-
Cab files:
Transcriber [0409] [0407 [040C]
SDConfig: CAB: \Storage\Install\Transcriber_0409.cab
Manila Languages [nl-nl]
SDConfig: CAB: \Storage\Install\Manila_nl-nl.cab
Stuff for a mysettings.rgu file:
SDConfig: EXEC:\Windows\regimport.exe \Storage\Install\mysettings.rgu
Show 4 icons per row in Programs and Settings
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\IconConfig]
"HorizontalIconSpacing"=dword:70
"VerticalIconSpacing"=dword:73
"IconTitleFontSize"=dword:6
Opera Home Page
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Defaults]
"HomePageURI"="www.google.com"

Since I know that last time I did not post a log of what is included, I have done it for this one:
Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Build 28014
*NetCF 3.5
*MySQLMobile 3.5
*Schapps Advanced Config 3.3
*Stock Dialer (other dialers are causing issues due to the bottom bar)
*Titanium Plugins (Office, Facebook, CommMgr, Fave People)
*No Manila (I might add it in a future release, but I personally don't use it much)
*HTC Album 2.5
*Bing
*Windows Live (from Stock)
*WM6.5 Widgets
*Office (from Stock)
*Adobe Reader 2.5
*PHM Notepad
*PHM RegEdit
*Facebook IM
*Jblend Java
*MP3 Trimmer
*Pocket RAR
*CHome Editor 1.6
*File Explorer Extension
*UC capable
I tried to make a rather lightweight rom, but I will include more stuff if requested. Hope you all enjoy it!
Bugs So Far
So far (12-17-09)
*BT Notification icon does not show up on the top bar
*Input under Settings>Personal is hidden. To fix this, simply erase the key "Redirect" from HKLM\Control Pannel\Input in the registry editor. As with any registry change a soft reset is required.
Extra Apps
Now this rom is UC capable. Here is my personal package with M2D in it. Unzip it in the root of the sd card and it will run upon second boot. You can add/remove any cab package that you want. Simply place your cabs inside of the folder that you will unzip (\Storage card\XDA_UC). Enjoy...

Rev 2 (12-17-09)
*Now UC Capable.
Rev 3 (12-20-09)
*Cooked a few apps from the UC into the rom.
*Now Mass Storage is available
*PCM Keyboard added for better input options.
Would like to see one with manilla in it, if u can.
Your download host appears to be very slow. When it finishes in an hour or so, I'll report back. I like that you didn't include Manilla.
edit: registering appears to speed up the download 6x.
how do you install this rom? its different then all the others ive used, this one only has the ruu ?
What else does this ROM have ? Tell me some of the bugs it has?
AND I WILL SEE IF I WILL FLASH IT TO MY HTC TOUCH

Download one of the others and replace the RUU with this one.

You downloaded a rom and not an RUU. But simpleagony is right. You can download another rom or simply go to my tutorial and you will find the RUU upgrader. Here is the link
mirror for those that want it faster

Can't you just put it on a sd card and rename it VOGUIMG.nbh
That's how I flash all roms.
New Rom Uploaded - First Post Updated
I just finished re-cooking the rom to see if I can get a few things going. Here is the changelog:
*Added HTC Black Glossy theme
*Added PHM RegEdit (forgot it in the previous build)
*Added Titanium weather
*Added CleanRAM 1.9.1
*Mortscript (which was already present but I forgot to put it in the previous list)

Aside from not being able to get a "BT ON" notification icon on the top bar, I haven't seen anything else. The list with the included software is in one of the posts.
One last thing, why are you yelling?

I uploaded a new version to uploaded.to. It should be faster now.

sorry for the yelling sometimes i forget i have caps lock on/i noticed when you touch the top of the screen or by where the signal bar is there is supposed to be like a bar that slides down and in your rom it doesnt have it also try to make the icons less blury.
but overall GOOD ROM

Try the new rom. The problem of the bar not sliding down was because of skinning that I tried to do on the top bar. As far as the icons being blurry, I was thinking of making 4 rows of icons, which would reduce them in size, making them less blurry. Thanks for the suggestion...

Of course you can, but some people do not like that method (and some others are not sure of flashing procedures altogether).

[ROM] Egzthunder1's WM6.5.3 Build 28205 Rev 0

Hey all,
28205 Hot off the press
COME AND GET IT!!
[highlight]Note: This is a UC Rom. When the zip is decompressed, you will see a folder called XDA-UC that has a bunch of cabs inside. Place that folder (and all of its contents in the root of your Storage Card. Right after the initial boot is done, soft reset the device. When it starts up again, UC will start by itself saying that it will install all the contents in the UC folder. Be patient since it will seem as if the device weren't doing anything. When its done, it will ask you if you want to reset it. The whole installation of cabs takes between 5 and 7 minutes (because of Manila)[/highlight]
Change-log:
28205 Rev 0 (1-4-10)
*Brand New WM 6.5.3 Build 28205
*Fixed BT icon not showing in the top bar
*Generic Carrier Rom. (you must install your DCD carrier cab or else your ##Phone Codes will not work [ie EPST, DATA, etc])
*Added Total Commander
*Few tweaks to improve battery performance
*Removed Facebook (I will add it in the UC folder if I get enough requests)
*I tried cooking EzInput 1.5 and 2.1 but I cannot get the rom to cook for some reason. I will try to look into it and see if i can find a fix.
I have attached a list of what is included with the rom and in the UC folder.
Known Bugs:
*Manila Home Tab Weather does not work. I tried the fix for CDMA device but the only thing that does is to stop Manila from being able to start up. Any suggestions are welcome. [highlight]- Resolved -[/highlight]--- First, set up the weather in M2D's weather tab, then install the attached cab, and finally Soft Reset. (thanks codf4ther)
*The dialer will randomly have a scrollbar on the side when the keypad is hidden. Nothing major, but will try to get a better dialer soon.
*Phone Codes folder is missing (forgot to cook it in). I will try to cook it in the next release.

I'd be very appreciative if you could start cooking EzInput keyboard into your roms. This keyboard just doesn't take kindly to being added as a cab after the fact.

Egzthunder has a pretty easy way to add Manila to the rom on first boot if you want it. Works pretty well on my Vogue, and keeps the rom clean for the purists.
Any changelogs as to what is different in these builds?

Nice, I will have to give it a try once the new ROM comes out. What is the link for the Manila add-on?

I will upload the xda-uc folder once the rom is done.
Can't wait to try out your new rom. I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow so hopefully you can get it uploaded today sometime, so I can install it. If not I'll try to be checking the site thru the week.
Look forward to it. I'd agree on the HTC EZinput keyboard and love to see the HTC Task Manager work in the quick menu. The last one had it installed but, would never appear up top?
Small update:
I have not forgotten about this. In fact, I have already cooked one for 28205 and I am testing it as we speak. Things that I found so far:
*BT icon in the top bar still does not show. It might just be a reg tweak. I will look into it.
*Cannot use Phone Codes for some reason.
*Issue with nueStorage (notification does not show)
*When touching the top bar, the information is displayed (notifications, battery, etc). However, the graphics are kinda messed up. I will try to post a screenshot later.
If I can finish it, I will post it later on.
Thanks for the update
Link on the main page isn't working?
Or is it being overloaded by too many people downloading?
---------------
Tried from another PC and got it to work... very strange!
Any screenshots available?
First post updated with all the information requested as well as screenshots...
Just downloaded & will flash later today.
Did you by chance add some better rings & alarms. The ones in your last ROM were basically all the same. Also, is the pull-down task manager (should be upper right) part of you ROM. I currently don't see it.
Weather
For the CDMA weather fix, did you remember to set the weather on the weather tab before applying the patch? Otherwise it'll stop Manila from starting.

I put some more "sounds" but I have not tested them. As far as the Task manager drop down, Manila pretty much blocks it. I do remember that there was a version that does not get covered by Manila. I will look for it and will try to cook it for the next one. Thanks for the feedback on that one (I did not notice it)
