Clicking this link will download the right cab file for your Dash. Be aware, this is a trial though and will probably expire.

Thanks for the link, I guess it's a later version than the one I own. Still doesn't work with my mpg files though

Opera Mini is not the same as Opera Mobile.
That link is for Opera Mobile 8.65 beta. It is a full-featured web browser using the same rendering engine of Opera desktop. The free trial expires in October.
Opera Mini is a completely free Java based program that can be downloaded here: http://www.operamini.com
If you need help with either of them, here are the proper support forums:

Opera Mini 4.2 (multisigned) as default browser?

I'm using the NRG Rose ROM 1.6. Instead of using the option to install Opera via the option under My Tools\Extras I downloaded the 4.2 multisigned version from Opera's website. This permitted me the option to not have all the security warning show each time.
Now I'm wondering how I can make it the default browser? I tried using a cab file called "WM6 SD OperaDefault.cab" and "WM6 OeraMiniAsDefaultBrowser - WithoutSelectionDialog.cab", but they didn't seem to work, perhaps because they were designed to work with an earlier version of Opera.
Are there any other solutions? Perhaps a registry tweak that I could do manually or something like that?
Thank you,
Tim

how did you get the signed version , cause I've tried multiple times, 4.1 and 4.2 , from my desktop to my phone , and straight into my phone from their site. I keep getting an unsigned version.

I installed the JZSmartmort file and it successfully set Opera mini as the default when I click on links in my email, but.... it doesn't seem to be able to successfully put in the URL once it launches opera mini.
It launches opera mini, then it goes into where it should put the URL in, backspaces out the default www. that opera puts in. Then it fails to paste in the URL that I clicked on. It then returns to the Opera Mini screen and ends after clicking on the opera menu button. Any ideas?
Thank you,
Tim

Did you try the link i placed as it should work you will have to ammened the .mscr's as mentioned later on in the thread, i haven't tryed it but know others have

Hi,
I tried the JZSmartmort opera launcher and the StartOperaMini: Mortscript by Badbob001. I haven't successfully gotten it to launch links from email or internet shortcuts into Opera Mini 4.2.
In one discussion point, sagementor states:
Originally Posted by sagementor View Post

But I haven't seen any sort of file that references those names. And in the startoperamini.mscr there is no reference to a version, just 4.x .
So at the moment, if I want to launch a link in a received email or associate a sliding panel shortcut with a URL, I have to use slow ol' PIE .
But on a different note, I love the Spb Backup software. I can now play around with this stuff and restore it to it's 'before' state if it really messes things up. I've already restored several times today.
Thank you,
Tim

Opera Mini 5 Beta Signed

Hi guys,
does anyone have the signed Opera Mini 5 Jar, when I go to m.opera.com/next on IE on my Touch HD, they don't show the option to download the signed version anymore. I'd really appreciate it, if someone could post the version here.
Thanks.

can you re upload mini.JAR ?
Error
This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.
This limit is reached.
To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.
Thanks
lol
Opera Mini 5 beta 2 was just released...
EDIT: Managed to get a signed version of Beta 2, attached it to this post!
How I got it? When downloading Opera Mini Beta 2 from the official page, take a close look at the URL: It says "cert=none" - just changed it to "cert=all" and guess what? It works!
Do you have cab file?

Not sure, if a cab file makes much sense with a java-application...
Do you have problems installing the file I uploaded? Do you have a Java Runtime Environment installed on your device?
If you haven't, I recommend Esmertec (attached the file to this post). Just install Esmertec, open it, tap Menu, tap Install, tap Local files. It should find mini.jad automatically!

You have to load the file I posted (mini.jad) inside the Java-client you have on your device!
It worked for me!
But since I don't know what Java you have on your phone, I can't tell you how to install the file!
Put these in your pipe and smoke em.. 2009 QVGA and VGA Java 20090217_51R2 with Opera Mini. All three versions 4.2, 5 Beta, and 5 Beta2
And I made them so they require little user input. Just click Opera Mini and boom installs and loads right to the accept page. Make sure to uninstall old version first to keep the remove programs clutter down and if you have someone elses Java versions etc.. remove those as well to avoid dead shortcuts.
2009 QVGA Java with Opera Mini 4.2
2009 QVGA Java with Opera Mini 5 Beta
2009 QVGA Java with Opera Mini 5 Beta2
2009 VGA Java with Opera Mini 4.2
2009 VGA Java with Opera Mini 5 Beta
2009 VGA Java with Opera Mini 5 Beta2
Enjoy,

Can you please advise which is the difference between Opera and Opera mini ?
Speed
for some reason, Opera 10 takes an age to display any kind of page (even with the speed booster turned on)
whereas opera mini 5 runs like a dream and displays full web pages superfast.
i've got both on my blackstone but i never really use opera 10. it's opera mini 5 beta 2 all the way.
talking of which any one know when the full version is coming out ?

Are you sure this is a problem of speed? Can you try to open a local HTML page: copy a few HTML files to your device and open them in Opera to see the difference.
If you're using Speedbooster as well, it should work smooth and fast: just add the opera exe at an aprox. 80% priority (not maximum!).

Opera Mobile works on WindowsPhone withou Java. You're not using Opera Mobile but Opera Mini 10 beta 2. Opera Mobile beta 2 is HERE.
Opera Mobile is NOT Opera Mini.

Anyone have the answer?
This thread is pretty old, but did anyone ever find the answer to this? I set the registry keys as follows, but it doesn't work perfectly. Clicking on a link will launch Opera Mini, but it doesn't go to the page.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\ EFBROWSER
/1 - "\Storage Card\Program Files\Opera Mini 5\OperaMini5-WM-armv4i.exe"
HKCR\http\Shell\Open\Command
(Default) - "\Storage Card\Program Files\Opera Mini 5\OperaMini5-WM-armv4i.exe" %1
That link given was for a whole other program that has to be installed and is way to complicated a solution.
