Where can I learn about ROM files...?? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi everybody...
Like many many people, I've following some threads here at XDA about the releases of WM6 Roms since de first XDA-Live to the newest black 3.0 rom and all of them have a lot of really good things...
I've learned to make custom splash screens thanks to the guides of MrVanx and using the Tadzio tools could modify an OS.nb (the one from the Doppod release thread) file in order to free some memory by cutting off things like the sample pictures and videos, ringtones and trash like that that is embledded in the ROM...
Now I would like to go the full way and customize even more my own ROM...I would like to remove some programs and utilities (in fact for me they are useless ) and even attached to the ROM some other programs like JasJamming or Dutty have already done but here comes my problem...I'm not such a guru and still have a lot to learnd about modifying a ROM and the question is as stated on the title: Where can I read and learn about the diferent files in the ROM???
I dont want to remove important folders from the rom... but the name of the files dont tell anything by itself (at least not at this point to me) so I really will apreciate if you can point me or give some suggestions about where to star...
I think its a lot better to anoy you with this post, maybe get some usefull help and thake the time to learn; than screw my TyTn and be banned after posting something stupid like I brick my device what to do ...
Thanks in advance !!
regards
Mablan

Rom kitchen???

Has anyone made a rom kitchen for the dash? Or successfully extracted the files from the OS?
I really want to cook a custom rom.
I did call me the cook...
I will take that as ricky or Kavana have it and thats about it
For all the lurking I have done on this forum that is all that I have seen, I have not been able to locate a rom kitchen yet. However; I think that there would be a whole new mess of questions if someone just posted one up. All in all, it would be nice, but the amount of hassle it would cause for the experienced people would be too much to deal with.

Diamond Rom Support

Do to the popularity of the new DIAMOND, I opened this thread to get support for the DEVELOPMENT OF A DIAMOND ROM.
I seen a Diamond ROM created for a few other devices, and thought it would be nice to have on our vogues. I would especially like to see one made that could be used with the PPCGeeks Kitchen , but any type would be wonderful.
As always, it's hard to get a developer to start a project based only on the request of one person. So if you would like to see a DIAMOND ROM build, for our device, please show your support. If you know anyone that can do this, ask them.
Thanks guys.
Tune in next time, same XDA time, same XDA channel!!!
I haven't read up on any Diamon ROMs, so what is there to expect from it, what's included?

XIP and OS are (at this point) beyond the level of time and patience that I am willing to commit.

It is not a PPCKitchen.org kitchen, but it is a kitchen.

I really have no clue what any of that is you just told me to do.
I want one that can be flashed, unplugged, and I walk away. LOL
I wouldn't be able to walk away for a year after trying that.

I would like a ROM cooking TUTORIAL

Hello People,
I wonder if someone could give a small tutorial how to start cooking your rom, maybe something as easy as putting a NLD wm into a 1.93 stock rom. I have been searching and downloading several kitchens, but nowhere is told how to start or what to need.
I really would like an example or walktrough the basics. I think I want to cook my own roms too, and I know I can bite me into these things ... never a cook too much is there?
I would be interested too. I have seen Kaiser kitchen but I never seen how to remove application from a room or add new one.

ROM Porting.

Call me stupid, but I have searched around ALOT on this forum for an answer to my question but have yet found any relevance to what I am looking for.
I want to start cooking my own Artemis ROM's. As far as I have read the easiest way is by using something called HyperCore kitchen. Now, I've started using this, but have found out afterwards that cooked ROM's available to download on here, cannot be extracted properly so as to be able to make one of them custom for what I want.
And as there is no official WM6.1 ROM for the Artemis, I am at a loss.
Basically, what I am asking to do, is to find out how to port a Kaiser WM6.1 official ROM so that it would be usable on the Artemis. Alternatively, perhaps find out what files are required from the Kaiser ROM to make the official WM6 Artemis ROM into WM6.1.
I hope I haven't confused you all. Any help would be greatly appreciated, maybe from bepe, tom_codon, Anja, NhatHoa? Any of you guys still about these days?
90 Views and nobody else knows anything?
This is starting to bug me now
I have looked everywhere. I have used the search, the wiki, google! I can't find any reference anywhere that explains to me how I can properly make a WM6.1 ROM for my Artemis using the required 6.1 files from a Diamond ROM.
HELP!!!!!!!
Start off with a base ROM first instead of porting. Porting can get very tricky and complicated. I'm currently in the attempt of porting a ROM (for the Hermes) and let me tell you, it's not easy. If you want to know more, i can show you what i'm doing via IM (faster) or here.

How to make a cooked rom

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering where I would start if I wanted to make my own cooked rom, like where do you get the os part from ? what tools do you need/use ?
Is there like a rough guide to make a very basic starter rom and do my own thing from there ?
Thanks
Have you even tried to use the search or read the forum?
There is plenty of information available.
I dont know anything at all about making a cooked rom, so am a bit clueless as to what to search for to get the information.
could someone provide a direct link to the coking rom thread? tried search, gave me mixed results..
you need a kitchen basically. probably easiest way is to find a rom that has a kitchen too and modify that. here's a link to a 6.5 kitchen
