How do I change to German keyb. localization of Keyboard after updating to WM6 black? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hi everybody.
I searched the forum already - to no avail...
Just updated my Hermes to WM6 Black Edition. Problem is, that I have a German Device, and now all my keys on my hardware keyboard are set to english localization.
Is there a way to switch to a german keyboard mapping in some way?
Maybe by updating the registry?
Help would be highly appreciated...
thx in advance,
trial

Have a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279158
I never tried it because its not that important for me to have a german keyboard configuration.
Keep us informed how it works

thanks for the link!
it seems to work in most of the cases - except the umlauts like 'ä ö ü' can't be accessed via the keyboard shortcut for some strange reason.
apart from that it works quite well...

I have an app that does it

you have to replace yout sym.0409.txt in windows-dir... search for "sym.04.09.txt" you will find the replacement in the same thread where you find the "German Language Changer"

Hi,
I have had a JamIn for the last year, and have just switched to a T-Mobile MDA (Its the TyTyn / JasJam) - but they dont put the Intellipad on it. I found your post, and thought all was going well (the pull out keyboard is fine for typing an email, but the intellipad was spot on for a quick text message). Unfortunately - I installed the fil eyou point to, and reboot device. It shows in the input options - but never actually appears. When its selected - it seems to show the onscreen keyboard, and not the intellipad. Any ideas? I thought I may be able to get the files off my JamIn - is there any mileage in that?
thanks doedoe..work perfectly on my X01HT

uninstall 3rd party phone dialer and using the default one.hopefully can make intellipad works fine with your phone
soft reset
i have this problem with most input apps i install.
some of them re-appear after a reset.
pls post if you find a solution.
anyway is there a diff between intellipad and phonepad?
my mda vario has a dutch phonepad. but the ones mentioned above are in english and way nicer.
i installed both and the both seem to work...
I have rebuilt my PDA countless times trying to get Phone Pad to work. No matter what order I reload my applications ultimately one of them breaks it and it stops working.
As reported when I select Phone Pad as in input method it just swaps back to keyboard. Very frustrating.
I do not believe I am running any third party dialers either so I have no idea what the cause is.
If anyone has found a workaround or solution I'd really appreciate it being posted.

WM 6.1 UK Keyboard Layout Required...Please.

Hi Guys,
I have updated both my Units with 6.1.
US Keyboard layout is working fine. But I have a UK units. So some of the symbols are in the wrong place.
I have done some searches but only find stuff for the US English, not the UK English.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
I did try and edit the file manually, but it seems to crash the software...
Thank you in advance.

Yota keyboard!!!!

I love this keyboard, with the Yota dialer that I installed, how can we get it as a standalone keyboard, for the rest of the phone to be used? if so, how about making the keys slightly larger?
help help... willing to donate...
really agree that the YOTA keyboard is a beautiful piece. Please consider to create a stand-alone.
Million Thanks
Are there any efforts to make this keyboard a standalone application at all????
I'm just sick of all the keyboards, which doesn't work with my XDA! None of the HTC-style or Diamond-style keyboards are still working. I just tried nearly all keyboards for QVGA I've just found in the Forum
My last hope (because it is quite marvellous in appearence) is the Yota keyboard.
Does anybody have a working QVGA version?

What language do you use?
Leave me your e-mail, I will send you CAB for HTC Touch HD.
First you have to install Fingerkeyboard 2.1, select English language and then you install CAB from Yota, integrated to Touch HD.
Sorry - English only...
Yes please to that as well!! (if you don't mind!)

Hi Valti,
Why don't you attatch the file rather than emailing it to people, then anyone who wants it can just download it.

No Problem, happy to help.
hmm, just downloaded it and installed it, and while it does look really spiffy, the file structure seems to indicate that this is just a version of FingerKeyboard?
First of all, there's a "fingerkeybd.dll" in the YotaKeybd installation directory. Then there's the "skins" directory, along with a bunch of skin files named in the same format as FingerKeyboard.
Finally, it conflicts with FingerKeyboard after installation and soft reset such that I had to uninstall and reinstall FingerKeyboard again
I hope this was licensed properly from Rozenthal and Exidler....
thanks alot

On Screen Keyboards

Hi there,
I'm usually in the Blackstone or Rhodium forums and have a mate who has the Xperia X1 and asked me about the on screen keyboards.
Looking at this phone, he only has the normal on screen keyboard which needs the stylus to be used, is there anyone out there that has the "Full QWERTY" and "Phone Keypad" Keyboards as a cab to install?
Thanks
search for FINGER KEYBOARD 2.1 or something like that. it's much better than the se kb.

Are u serious?
what's the point of a software keyboard when u have a hardware one?
imho, the best solution even is to install nullkeyboard to stop the annoying software keyboard from popping up.
Try SPB Keyboard. Its great
Hi, Although u have the slider keyboard already, but for obvious reasons one may need a software keyboard too. Try SPB Keyboard (just google it and u get the links). It also gives u lot many plugins to shoose from various layouts/options of keyboard.
I have been using it for long and its works great on X1.
fingerkeyboard is by far the best!
hm.. this might help u

Although hardware keyboards are great, you need two hands to use them. When you want to send a quick message or send something quick on Twitter etc, one hand is prefered, hence the Software Keyboard is needed.

Cheers for the link
I used the Touch IT Blackstone keyboard set which includes a handy keypad, simulating a normal phone pad. I mostly use it for one-handed sms.
The filename is Touch-IT Blackstone Keyboard.cab or something, so a search would probably yield results.

Tried fingerkeyboard, Blackstone and SPB one. Actually I'm with the xT9 keyboard, that id the official finger-friendly keyboard that SE ships with the R3A ROM release. It is by far the best one I've ever tried.
Try it, it's here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494026
The xT9 is the best keyboard. The only one you can use with one hand!
hmm i'm keen too... does anyone have a working QWERTY HTC ezinput 2.x for the X1???

that was my issue... there's other ezinput 2.0 that i've got/tried...
and the fn keys are outputting different things...
ezinput 1.5 works BUT has smaller keys and the font is messed up (courier?)
oh well
still eager for someone to fix this issue...
what about the issue that older EzInput keyboards had with the predictive text on the X1i?
I remember when i installed 1.5 it would no longer pre-populate names as i was typing in the To: section for a text message
dont really care about t9 or predictive text...
i just want to type and use the fn key to properly output numbers rather than using sym all the time >.<

Disable XT9

On my Touch Pro I was able to disalbe XT9 by the following reg keys
Turn off
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409
Ime File=\windows\compime.dll
Layout Text=COMP IME
To Turn on again
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Layouts\e0010409
Ime File=\windows\eT9Ime.dll
Layout Text=eT9 IME
With my TP2 it now longer works. I am trying to disable XT9 so I have the microsoft drop down for suggested words.
Does anyone have the setting for this? Sorry if this has been posted already, I searched around on Google and just found the technique for XT9 for models other than TP2 which don't work.
**EDIT**
Found my own answer...
Enable XT9
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0030404]
"Ime File"="M5ImeMgr.dll"
Disable XT9
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0030404]
"Ime File"="compime.dll"
Works on my Hong Kong ROM and may not work with other ROMs.
will this make XT9 persistently stay on and not be forgotten every time you close down that panel (for hw keyboard)?

I would make a cab but some people have said that it caused problems by the dll file name being different in their ROMs. I am using Hong Kong ROM, what ROM are you using?
My XT9 not working now since in install Studio Kuma Chinese input CAB. I have a Hong Kong TP2 English Version and i need Chinese handwriting input. But since in install the CAB. I lost the standard XT9 and I no longer can input Chinese using anyone of the standard input method.

Try this cab. It will return the registry settings for XT9 and input to default.
Hope it works for you.
Thanks At0mAng. I'll have a crack at your CAB. BTW, do you have the original TP2 Chinese handwriting CAB from your device?

Do you mean the new EZinput? I am not Asian so I never use the Asian input. I believe there is a way to enter chinese characters by hand. I can try to CAB up the EZInput from my dump and see if it works.
