Hi,
Can someone help me with this: I want to dump a WinCE image from a device, i.e. an HP Jornada 548 or from a WinCE based PNA.
At the end I want to do the following: extract i.e. Solitaire.exe from the ROM of my HP Jornada 548 (WinCE 3.0) and run it on the PNA (WinCE 4.2).
I have Solitaire.exe from a WinCE 4.21 device, but it refuses to run, because the OS has a lower version that what the executable is for.
All this is just for fun: would be nice to play Solitaire on the next major traffic jam...
Cheers,
vma

hi i have a 4150 with wm2003. i downloaded the file from ur site and i want to know if i can update my device??
10x.
it can if somebody at hp or ms compile it to that platform and leak it
like happent with the 2005 for xda2's
roms unlike normal windows only have the specific drivers required by the device and if the hardware is not 100% the same then the rom dont work
kinda like trying to install macOSX on a pc
I have a Magician, for which no leaked WM5/6 has ever been found. WM2003SE is the newest OS for this device.
I'm not new to cooking ROMs, porting XIPs, or OS, but converting a WM5 device to WM6.1 is cake compared to WM2003SE! Very much is so different!
It was previously my understanding that there are 2 main barriers:
1. Bootloader must be WM5 compatible.
2. XIP will need to be built with a new kernel.
Since WM5/6 are built on Windows CE 5.0 while WM2003SE is built on Windows CE 4.2, would all the info on Microsoft.com that talks about migrating from CE 4.2 to 5.0 apply to WM2003SE to WM6.1 as well?
For instance, their site says a CE 4.2 bootloader should work with CE 5.0. Would that mean the bootloader doesn't need to be changed for WM2003SE to 6.1?
Also, the kernel is completely different. Would it be theoretically possible to use Platform Builder to create a new CE 5.0 kernel using OEMInit from the old kernel?
Basically, is Platform Builder the correct tool for migrating all the device-specific files in the XIP?
Is possible to install the ipaq wireless manager existing on the hx2400 series on a ipaq 600 series
I want the ipaq wireless because the the default bluetooth manager on the 614 is not very good.
I have a rom with kitchen for hx2400 series, can I get the packages from that rom and install it on my 614? If it is possible please let me know how to do it.

Hi !
I tried to extract iPAQWireless.exe from a French 114 SE CE 5.2.1616 (Build 18120.0.4.0 ROM MP-1.01.02 loader MP-1.00.00) to run it on my French 614c (SE CE 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2) ROM MP-1.00.06 loader MP-1.01.00).
Nothing comming up when I run, only asking about a runing auth and after that, I ear 2 alarms sound...
Anyone got an idea about the possibility to get it work ? I can send my .exe if you need it.
I also noticed all HP preview of iPAQ 6xx are showns with iPAQWireless on today screen... It's certainly possible, but how ?!?...

Hi there. Allow me to start off with I AM A NEWB. LoL
I stumbled onto this site after doing hours of research on the net. Long story short, I have 3 HP Ipaq's. Mine, wife's, and son's. 1 runs Windows CD 2003, the other 2 run Windows CE 2002. I would like to find out how to upgrade the OS's on these mainly because Windows Media player on them is very dated, and is difficult to use as a MP3 player.
The following are the model #'s:
1. HP Ipaq h2200
Rom Revision: 1.11.01 ENG
OS Version: Windows CE 4.20
2. HP Ipaq H3900
Rom Revision: 1.00.00 ENG
OS Version: Windows CE 3.0
3. HP Ipaq h5450
Rom Revision: 1.11.19 ENG
OS Version: Windows CE 3.0
I realize these are older Ipaq's, but they all still work perfectly fine for our needs. I would like to possibly update them to Windows Mobile 5.0, or do I want to do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if I just learn.
Thanks
Hi to all,
i wonder to change the WinCE 5 of this system, with a more flexible OS such as WM2003 or WM6.
Seen that is an industrial system, how I can create a rom for this system?
Exist a software tool able to create an .nb0 file using the various .nb files, for example from the HTC ROM, in order to have the OS and boot file ?
Thanks in advance.
No one can help me (I'm a newbie!)
Please help me!
I have a similiar Problem.
I want to install a windows mobile 2003 or higher on a rugged PDA.
