Legit WM6 for 8525

Looks like all the 8525 users around here are going to get genuine ROMs in the relatively near future
I smell some more cooking coming on when they hit ;-)

there has been several posts already a few days back when engadget broke the news...

This has been posted several times already. We know and We wait but it will be July before AT&T gets it out the door.

See? This is what happens when you spend what little internet time you have wading through the posts in the various ROM version threads - I totally missed that one and thought I was the first bringing this important news to the group
I try and keep up when I'm at work but this is such a busy forum right now, it's difficult to do that.
Is there any point asking if T-Mobile UK are planning to do it too or has that already been anounced and I missed it? ;-)

I got told a very stern "No!". I think they're stupid if they don't, it's one thing I miss about O2; the ROM Updates that is.

Yeah, I've always come back to T-Mobile after a year or so as the monthly bill is always cheaper but the radio on my original rom was so damn old that I could never get 3G reception even in prime spots in London but after upgrading to 1.18.30.10 (think I was on 1.15.xx.xx before) I've not lost reception once and calls are even clearer than before, had problems with a delayed repeat of what I'd already said before like a second out of sync. Can't wait to see BE 2.0...

I will go out on a limb and guess it is at that link in his sig on rapidshare - called Shadowmite_ROM_v1.rar (or something like that)

Flattering though it may be, if it were me I'd be contacting the seller and "suggesting" they not be selling it with a WM6 cooked ROM. IMO, it puts XDA in a precarious position. I found one running CUSTEL's ROM a couple weeks ago and the listing was subsequently cancelled after I notified him of it.

I know people who purchased phones from distributors in Europe with LVSW ROMs pre-installed

I'd be tempted to notify that seller that there are atleast 2 porkies on that auction, but Im sure they already know.
1. The main listing it is described as new. (later its described as lightly used)
2. Its described as still under warranty.

IF your ROM is nothing special and you don't distribute it, how come this guy has a copy?

i think wheather or not someone sells a modded phone running wm6 should be between the author of the rom and the seller not anyone else. there are some people out there that would just rather pay for someones time rather than taking the risk of flashing a rom themselve. further more the amount of crying some members do about noob questions being asked i dont see why anyone should care other than the seller and chef. if it was your rom and you had an issue with someone selling there phone with it on it then you should contact the seller. i have sold several phones with roms on them other than the ones i have cooked and i make sure i donate money to not only the cooks but others as well. you are not the ebay police and there are plenty of sites to links to roms for these phones xda is not the only one i h8 to burst your bubble. and by the way if you werent paying attention the roms have been removed from xda if you remember. so he didnt get it from here so no reason why M$ should be worried anymore. obviously shadowmite doesnt care so dont consern your self with things that dont consern you. im not trying to be a **** but people such as yourself are not bending over backwards to help people mod there phones so if someone is nice enough to offer it you shouldnt bother them. feel free to pm me if you would like to have a further discusion no reason to bring this back up in the forum to bring any unwanted attention.

I'm selling my JasJam in a few days time and it will go with i-mate's own ROM in it; everything will be as it were: IPL, SPL, OS, ExtROM and Radio. Luckily with the latest radio ROMs all traces or previous adventures with SuperCID and all can be wiped.

AT&T Forums have banned all WM6 threads

I coasted over to the AT&T HTC forums today to look at all the WM5 users who are pissed about not having WM6 yet. (they should just come over here). Well turns out the Sentry has banned and locked all threads regarding WM6 and refuses and will erase every post regarding WM6 for the 8525.
WTF !
p.s. I have tiny balls.

thats not how you fix a problem by erasing instead of confronting the issue with wm6 release official for 8525

Well I read some guy posted pics of 2 old men having sex. Probably the same guy who's been posting AT&T Eats Babies all over other threads. Ok so ban him and erase HIS posts.
Banning all WM6 threads is pretty 1984 of them.
By the way I read on Howard forums it's coming out Oct 19th. But who knows if that's true.

For what it's worth, someone in the AT&T forum emailed the CEO and got a call from that office. That person stated that it would be out on Oct. 19th also. Personally, I won't believe it until I see the download link.

they've reopened WM6 discussion as of 9AM this morning.

It takes some courage for a newer Windows Mobile user to come here since one of the top posts is a warning about unofficial ROMs. The threads warn about everything from bricking your device to your balls falling off . . . well almost to your balls falling off. Once someone decides to come to the "dark side", it takes a while to figure out what what downloads to use. The instructions were easy and the just the upgrade in radio was worth the effort.

Then I apologize my friend. Even if somebody had a thousand posts, I would only buy from him if the transaction is absolutely formal and reversible. When the seller has only a couple posts, it becomes only more risky. I just wanted to warn josh, because I have been using his ROMs lately, and I am aware of the recent accident his Hermes had, and I don't want him to face another trouble based on Hermes I am sure he already knows what I am saying. This is the Internet and there is no point in transferring your precious money without a guarantee and crossing your fingers. Once again, no offense intended. Nothing personal. Just a friendly warning.

Ebay is even risky these days. I almost got raped for a tilt by an asshole in ebay. But i eventually got my money back after almost a month and a half battle with him!

Sounds like you didn't follow the flashing guide, did you install the keymap for your loaction? US, UK in sig, the Dash you have is the same as the all the rest just has a black shell and a difference on the keypad and is not a Dash2.

Im the idiot no the people that want to buy it for 400.00 dollars are the idiots and yes it is the dash 2 not just a black dash it doesnt come standard with that bull**** 5.0 operating system it comes with the bull**** 6.0 and there are many of differences and no this isnt the first time i have flashed a rom to the dash its the third the previous two times it worked fine and i did not change a thing about it so i am glad everyone who posted has the new dash and has tried the kavanna 6.1 rom on it to see if it works there is so much different on this phone compared to the old s620 and like i said i did not do a thing wrong it worked fine all the way up to where i needed to text and it didnt recongnize my keyboard if you would like for me to make a video of me doing it again and showing every step of the process i will and then you can tell me that i was right and didnt do anything wrong ok ? ok so why dont you stupid ****s like the guy gixxum smoke my pole go actually buy a suzuki because you probably dont have one just yearn for people to think your mr.cool guy 2000 because your name is gixxum then after that guy buy the new dash and try it your self and then come talk to me

alright guys this is waaay out of cotrol! i'm not posting as much as i used to, but i STILL do read the threads daily. watch your tongues.
To the OP, there is no DASH 2, just a reimaging of the original DASH. Same hardware, with new eyeshadow, and different default ROM. Others here do have the same DASH as you do and have reported no issues with KAVANA's or any of the other 6.1 ROMS released here.
