since windows mobile 6 has the automatic update... and since the Test Rom is out... If you installed the test rom on the dash and then when it launched, Updated it... wouldn't it recieve all the updates and be current? Just a thought.
No, this is not the case. You can't do a ROM update through the update service.
i understand that aspect of it. im not saying to update the rom but the other ****.. like fixes that they might have... or will the final version be a Rom update not the devoloping rom?

You should, but only if the final isn't the same as the leaked one. You can also flash the final build once its released, manually.
You could just wait 1 day, too. I know it's killing you to get your hands on Froyo (it's killing me) but patience is a virtue. To be honest, I don't think it would have been as bad if Sprint didn't say we could initiate the update by downloading and installing it manually earlier. People have been hitting the "Check Now" button since last Friday (myself included). Why say that at all if you're not going to allow it?
BTW - your post title is very misleading... may want to change it to a question of some sort instead of statement implying what it isn't.
I highly doubt Sprint wouldn't allow the people that updated early to update again. That would be absolutely ridiculous. Either wait for the next update or for a root method on your current version.
I am on an LG quantum, and 98% of stuff is working great, but I am having a few issues. Completely random reboot, LG apps don't work right or at all (PlayTo tells me to update then close), some UI effects lag or bug out, battery isn't any better than NoDo expect with batterysaver. Is anyone else seeing these issues?
Sent from my LG-C900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
So, have you gotten the official update? I'm on RTM 7720.68 and I still haven't got the update.
Looks like we have to wait another 2 weeks...
Look here...
http://www.wpcentral.com/mango-update-release-september-15th
I am on 7720.68, but I think there are some firmware issues with my quantum like some little bugs that weren't there with nodo (random reboot, minor UI effect issues) anyone else on mango noticed anything like this?
guess we have to wait another 15 more days..
im using quantum too. no random reboot problem but got little bug on 7720.
13 more days
Good thing i havent flash my rom. Im using HTC Trophy. ...
So do we still get the official update directly from 7720.68 or do we have to revert back to nodo?
I believe you have to revert to Nodo for you carriers update.
its possible tha tu can update from 7720.68. because previously i flashed my radio from 5.65 to 5.66 using custom tools RUU
then u downgraded to nodo, but the radio was still 5.66 .then i installe dmango , zune again changed my radio to 5.65
so there u go...
i`ve just got a mozart from ebay and it had mango on it 7.10.7720.68 with radio 5.54
how would i update this radio if i can , and how do i find out if its unlocked or not.
would this get any updates when the official mango comes out. i`m stuck really i`m used to android os which is easy to change and mess with. but i`m licking the windows os at the mo.

One of those HTC reps yesterday let slip a "last week of September" for Mango. So we still have a good month to wait roughly

Maybe it is only a problem with my device (random reboot). What type of bug are you getting, and see if PlayTo now called SmartShare works, when I launch it, it tell me to update to the latest version (I am on 7720.68), then closes.
Thanks

no issues here either on 7720.68. SmartShare does the same thing on mine, but I believe this will be fixed once new firmware comes from LG with official Mango update. No reboots and everthing is very smooth.
Is build 7.10.7720 the final rtm or is it 7.10.7721?
or at least it seems like it.
i downloaded the port over version the other day before all the "close this thread now" stuff. And i have loved it so far.
But, i just got a notification on my phone that said there was an update available, out of curiousity as to it being verizon or venom, i clicked download and it said the following.
"You using illegal copy of our ROM, to fix it apply update" and so forth and so on.
My question is the Venom rom now ready and they are just sending out an update to get up to their specs or is this update going to kill my phone. I have no problem taking this rom off and putting something on if this update was designed to kill the old version, just want to get some answers before i go in any directs.
was just struck off guard today with this development...
thanks,......

i don't think anybody would side with venom if they released an update that killed somebody's phone over a ported rom.

i agree, i was just trying to find out if anyone else had seen this and did the update to see what gives.
UPDATE: i tried to install the update and it fails every single time. not sure what it is supposed to do, but it fails. just thought i would shoot the update to everyone. i am fairly certain that i am not the only one.
thanks,
see if the ROM that we are using was ported from got an update.. since it's a port, it's likely the update is for sprint...
thought that is what it might be, but the "illegal" ROM part made me wonder a bit more than usual..

turge had asked members of the verizon one community to supply fixes to enable verizon to work properly with the intl venom rom
this wasnt meant to have people fix up the rom for verizon and release it.....when its meant to be released to the public, it will be
our server cant distinguish between actual kang roms (ie chinese ones which are so prevalent) and ports that are being worked on....my advice is to not use a venom rom on your verizon one until turge or jan release it via an official thread
it wouldnt be an update from verizon as its not a verizon based rom with verizon ota files in it

Perfectly said, Sir.
T989UVOH1 - Beginning October 5,2015 the Samsung Galaxy S II will have a software update to Android version* 4.1.2/ Software T989UVOH1 via OTA or Samsung Kies.* This update provides the Stagefright fix.
My phone wanted to update last night. did anyone take the update ? did it lose root ? what happened when it updated.
Right now i'm backing up my stuff and pushing all my contacts to google and everything before hand.
If you do not know what stagefright is then read :
http://www.xda-developers.com/stagefright-explained-the-exploit-that-changed-android/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/fix-stagefright-patched-t3173500
- I like the rom i'm on and really dont want to go updating if it breaks my root and everything on my phone.
I found out that i would mostly need to update so im updating now to a new rom SLIMLP
Well I did a little flashing this weekend to see what this update really did. I will say it did nothing. The stagefright v1 and v2 are still active.
The rom is fully bloated to hell. I jumped off the rom after that. Do not update to this build from t-mobile it does nothing.
I wonder if someone can upload the new radio that comes with it.
Hi guys
when do you think we will see a new marshmallow update from Google? Will it be anytime soon? Will it be a major update fixing a lot of stuff, maybe changing something? Or will it be a little security update just like the previous one? And what do you think the version will be, 6.0.2, or will they jump to 6.1?
Thread is open for discussion/theories.

I guess Marshmellow doesn't need too much of tinkering to begin with. So, we will be getting timely secuity updates from time to time along with small fixes as and when they are found. One thing is for for sure though, We ain't jumping to 6.1 directly.
i believe there is a reason not only the latest update was refered to as 'monthly security upate'. also we're beyond that point where every update increases the version number. chances are that we'll stay on 6.0.1, unless google includes a somewhat major feature update.
