I was just wondering which version of WM6 people here have installed on their device. Please vote! I, myself, am currently using Black 2.5 and Radio 1.41.
Looks to me like "Once you go black, you don't go back!"

Same number of noobs it takes to screw in a lightbulb.
LVSW's support Chinese Plus better than others
I need to install ce-star to support chinese input and display,
LVSW's is the best for me,fast and stable.

At least this one actually has a working poll, so the results can be viewed easily without having to read pages upon pages of opinionated views

I didn't start the thread to decide what to install. It's just for fun to see how many people have what.
Just *bumping* it up!
Black is the best, hands down.
i use them all at one point,
Black is fast and quite functional. Support regarding installation is very good too.
CUSTEL's 2.5
The best ROM I have tried out of 10 in terms of stability and reliability.
Custel's is the most stable. Black has too many bluetooth and sleep of death issues.
I havent frozen up once with Custel, I use to freeze three or four times a day with black.
Has anyone lost their wireless/wired modem function now, I'm on Black2.5 and can't use my set as a modem for my lappy, tried BT,IR, USB...none work now? I really need this feature to log into work when in the field. Any ideas?
edit: I let my fat li'll fingers do the walking and found it...AWESOME site guys, well done to all. You put MS to shame!
Im going to use CUSTEL's roms from now on. Forget Black!

5) ATI Patch
6) Office 2007
7) OneNote patch
Cooked into the ExtRom:

All extrom customizations are REMOVABLE via. the Remove Programs App in Settings.
The "Home" of Elf Edition v2 is at http://www.htc-devs.com/http://www.htc-devs.com/ but, support will be given here too.. However, you'll get far more bang-for-your-buck at htc-devs.com IMHO
Anyways... What are you waiting for?? Why aren't you downloading? Oh, you need a download link? Well.. Instead of having a great big red DOWNLOAD HERE link, I'm going to have some fun
Download here
Download v2.1 here
Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it..
Please install HardSPLv7 BEFORE you install this ROM! I am not responsible for any damage or bricks!
Also, IMHO, 1.40.30.00 is the best radio out right now.. If you're running anything lower, please upgrade! Of course, do it AFTER you do the HardSPLv7!!
Thanks man, it looks good, so where's the download link?

Hehehe. Sorry can't contain myself. I loved the Elf modifications to the LVSW ROM.
Hi Elf,
Just tried your rom. Here's some feedback, hope you don't take it the wrong way.
I found this version to be a lot slower than the plain LVSW build and also Sleuth255's build. Seems strange, since they are all based on the same core of LVSW.
Thanks for the effort though!
Any other download link besides Rapidshare?

I also had the experience of 1.40.30.00 being better... my phone showed better reception in places with that version than with 1.41. In the two days or so that I used 1.41, I also had the radio system crash on me a couple times... and far more than it has with 1.40.30.

Odd.. I'm going to try to get a different version of Live working properly; that might be the reason.

Cool. I notice the difference in speed especially when running Activesync. And overall when using Explorer programs, it feels like the disk/filesystem access is slower.

Can you remove Live and see if it makes a difference? It not, can you reflash? I really didn't touch the pagepool or anything else that would have caused a difference in speed!

I understand what you mean dude, but unfortunately I switched back to another LVSW build and wont have the time to reflash yours and test now (only have one Hermes) since I will be travelling for a few weeks.
Anyway, I only tried it once, and it may have been some sort of mistake on my part (although I didnt do anything "strange" either). Nevertheless, it could be just me! :/ Also, I didn't try reflashing it during that time.
Anyway, just wanted to give some feedback of my experience at least, just in case other people experience the same thing. Sorry I cant help you test it more for now, and thanks for the work.

Strange in fact i found this version is running faster then the original LVSW version in my dopod, thanks LegolasTheElf.
I've upgraded the version of Live, and added a VOIP config utility and a few other goodies to the rom. Again, as usual, ALL are removable to a base/clean rom
I'll post the link when I'm done the finishing touches for Elf v2.1 But, it is a VERY nice rom. I'm impressed with myself
Just so everyone knows.. Elf v2.1 which VOIP configuration, the newest Live and a few other minor tweaks is just around the corner... For those who want it NOW, the link is here.
I will do a proper write up later.. But, for those who read this, the new rom awaits Oh, and battery life is unbelievable in my testing it yesterday.
Since I've seen many people ask for it, here is that file on megaupload as well...

Hi all
I want to do something about my battery drainage. I have tried with 3G turned completly off for several and it helps on my battery.
But i was wondering if it was possible for an app to shutdown 3G if its not used for like 5 mins, and then being able to turn it on when you have to use it, or if the reception is low.
Anyone know?
several of the latest cooked roms have this feature as part of HTC's new communication manager. For example, I am using dutty 3.7 and I can switch on 3g as easily as switiching on wifi or bluetooth
I am using a superlite version and it doesn't have the Comm manager. Is it possible to integrate it somehow?
torstenk,
there's quite a bit on this subject on xda-devs. Have a look around.
WMLL by Chainfire looks the most promising to me, new and greater release due shortly.

I've just been playing with Android with HTC Sense from the Bravo on my TP2 - how come nobody's trying to get this working fully? It boots and works ok but there's no data conection but HTC Sense is really good!
Anyone working on this HTC Sense build of Android?
are you cdma or gsm? I think the cdma version works but I haven't had any luck with mine, but it does run brilliantly on my tp2!
it does crash on opening a number of programs and isn't able to establish a connection, if the developers could sort this out then it would be amazing!

There are people working on this, yes. However a data connection is pretty important on a Smartphone, almost useless without it. So we stay with 2.01 for now. LOL

im not developer but it makes sense to me for work to be done on the most up to date version available, otherwise in the future the efforts will just be doubled? but i guess if those developers are happy with an outdated android that's cool for them (i get my desire in a few days so it doesn't bother me!)
Im a sense android by klinux user...
maybe its because Im in USA now and I cant use all the same data connection (cause of cost) but I prefer the sense version without data than the normal one...
anyway...keep up on working on fully data connection and I will be the king of happy mans!!!

Having said that, it's as useful as 2.01 to me - a Smartphone without sound is pointless too, IMHO.

Android guy here. Is there any possibility that the APNs list used in the 2.1 versions you guys are testing aren't the same as those in 2.0.1? Other than that and the ril, there's nothing else in android that changes between versions that would prevent a data connection.

Touche, to each their own. I have to keep my phone on silent at work, so for me thats not as big of an issue. I did just recently get a JVC deck with BT support, and I feel like a traitor switching back to WinMo so I can listen to music.

anybody get wifi working??
Just tried it. Really nice after everything is done loading. The data, wifi, and even the wireless settings don't work. Tried the fm radio with no luck. But overall with just data working would make this far better than 2.1 or 2.0.1, i dunno which one they're on. Also the ram after load was around 36-40 and then after closing everything it was 56. Not horrible, but could be improved. Ummm i don't think power off works either, but i just reset after waiting 2 minutes. This is amazing though, i've been waiting for sense on rhodium ever since i got the phone and finally i get to try it. Sweet stuff guys keep up the great work.

Does this need to have the orginal project android installed? Also, will this run on T-Mo? Lastly, does gps work?

GPS should work. Thats kernel controlled, not OS controlled.... works on all of my builds 2.0.1 - 2.2

I think BT is in the same state as all the other builds... I'm going to make a wild assumption and say that camera, wifi and charging are as well.
But, give it a whirl and let the OP know how it went. Obviously the camera is not going to work and BT will probably pair but not work either.
