but i tried diff numbers with no luck. Does any one know ? it has to be somewhere if we can access it in the original start menu.
You might want to try asking this here http://lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/index.php
Try creating a shortcut in your custom start menu to "\Program Files\Lakeridge\WisBar Advance\Control.exe".
This assumes that you are using WA2 and not Wisbar Lite and that you have it installed in main memory. Also, make sure that you have the latest beta version from the forums (2.8.0.3).

I've discovered the wonders of Opera Mini...
My ROM includes Esmertec Java... I was wondering if there's a way of launching Opera directly from a shortcut rather than having to load Esmertec first, and if there's a way to bypass/default the security/connect questions when starting the applet? I'd really like operamini to replace Pocket IE on my hard button....
"\Program Files\EsmertecJbed\jbed.exe" -run s0_
where 0 is the number of installed java application
Hope this helps

Any way to get round the 'go online' permissions warnings?
Hint for anyone else - you don't need a return at the end of the link line, otherwise it won't work.
I found some info on removing the onlune authorisation stuff, editting the selector.utf file, but really cannot get it to work - anyone got any cluse? please?
Check this out, you might like it:
Opera Mini 4 on Windows Mobile as Default Browser
Got everything working - here's how...
Took some playing. Got the shortcut to work, but not the online warnings. Turned out that I couldn't change it because the version of jbed was in ROM. Installing a new version over the top fixed it.
I also found a cab file that creates the shortcut, removes the security warnings, and makes it default browser for urls in emails... it also installs mortscript to enable it to do this. I've attached all relevant files below. Browse to www.operamini.com and downlaod the high memory version to install on your device first!
Oh, another hint - if you aren't running any other java apps, delete the contents of windows\appdb before starting to clean everything out.
If installing the cabs, do all to device and not storage card.
Then allocate it to the IE Button, and you have Opera Mini as default browser!
excellent! been wondering about this for a while!
Cheers!
o2 wap flat
Hi,
does anyone know how to use the Opera in conjunction with the O2 WAP flat option? I'd really appreciate if someone could guide me on the settings to take!

Hello, I have a file "WM6 OperaMiniAsDefaultBrowser - WithoutSelectionDialog.cab", and she works correctly, but at the start java, get the error message "could not find s0_" and then opens the opera mini. My question is is it possible to remove this message?
Thanks.

Gentlemen, (and ladies if any of you are hiding around here)
Whenever I flush my device I use PIM Backup and Sashimi to restore PIM data and install some of the apps I use. The thing I'm missing is a simple way to backup other device characteristics and features. These are many small things, like the order of the manila tabs, communication settings etc. They are all pretty simple to set manually, but since there are many of them it would be nice to find an automatic way to do them.
Below is a numbered list of things I would like to restore. If you have a good solution to anything on the list, please post it here. If you have other things you would like to backup, please add them as well.
1) Tab order in TF3D [hint]
2) List of apps included in the "Start" menu [solution - files]
3) List of cities in the weather tab [solution - Reg entry]
4) List of "Favorites" in the People tab [solution - file]
5) Browser Bookmarks [solution - files]
6) Internet Services Settings (e.g. The default access name is "uinternet" and I have to set it to "internet" manually) [possibe solution]
7) Default ring tones
8) Programs in the Program Launcher tab [solution - Reg entry]
9) Email accounts (PIM backup fails to set up my IMAP accounts. I'm not even sure it suppose to) [hint]
I'm aware of apps that can be used change many settings, like "Diamond Advanced Config", or the "Diamond TF3D Config". If possible don't just pint to apps that can do something manually, but suggest how to script a solution that can make the changes automatically.
For the purpose of this thread please assume that Sashimi is installed and can be used, but if the solution calls for a script or a registry entry change, please include or quote the file that can be used with Sashimi.
This is my first post in this tremendously helpful, active and important site, so I would also like to say thanks to all of the contributors, chefs, admins, moderators etc. who are supporting this site.

I'm sorry I can't give you working Mort scripts or .reg files etc. At least, not yet. But I'm searching for similar info and solutions, as I have the same need to automate installation after hard reset as much as I can. In general, for settings that are saved in the registry, you'll have to find out where the registry keys are saved, so you can export and import them using Sashimi.
1) I suggest asking sushilange, the creator of Diamond TF3D Config, or schaps, the creator of Advanced Config, how and where Manilla saves the TF3D tab order. If the registry is used, we can export the keys and import them using Sashimi. If the tabs are saved in one or more of the obscure Manilla files in \Windows, we can also save and restore them using Sashimi.
2) If I understand you correctly, just save and restore any shortcuts you like from \Windows\Start Menu with Sashimi.
3) You can try to add cities for your Manilla/ROM by setting up and running this application as part of your Sashimi setup. Or you can contact the creator, or the creator of the WeatherDatabaseEditor and find out which file(s) to backup and restore using Sashimi, after you're done editing your cities..
4) Don't know yet. Maybe sushilange, D-MAN666 or any of the other guys working on editing Manilla know how and where Manilla saves the TF3D contact favorites..
5) For Opera Mobile save and restore \Windows\Opera9\opera6.adr. For Pocket Internet Explorer save and restore \Windows\Favorites
6) Have a look at the provisioning functions in Makisu. I know the previous version of Makisu can setup e-mail accounts and maybe the new version can setup connections as well..
7) Don't know yet, probably somewhere in the registry
8) I suggest seacrhing or asking sushilange how and where Manilla saves the programs in the TF3D Programs tab. If the registry is used, we can export the keys and import them using Sashimi. If the tabs are saved in one or more of the obscure Manilla files in \Windows, we can also save and restore them using Sashimi.
9) Have a look at the provisioning functions in Makisu. You can't create your e-mail accounts with the backup applications I know..
favorite people seems to be in the pim.vol file. You can copy that file to internal storage and restore is using total commander.. or spb backup restores the favorite people as well
programs in manilla are listed in the registry under this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher]
cities found under weather are in the registry here:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
back it up and pop it in sashimi
good luck with the rest... its sad we have yet to see an all-in-one backup solution. Actually, i think it'd be great to see a manilla backup program developed for the issues you're raising.. tab order, people, programs, weather, etc
im eagerly awaiting this, ROM updates are so annoying when there's no simple backup solution
Please take a look before you post a thread in a certain section. This has nothing to do with ROM development...
Thanks for the hints, people. I'll start linking to them.
I'm still not sure how to contact the apps developers. If anyone can point them here that would be great.
mccune, I considered putting it elsewhere, but I think the issue of automating many small stuff like that is mostly common for people who flush ROMs. I believe that currently this thread is the one they read most often. If this thread will have some good solutions, or even better, lead to a development of a tool that can take care of all of this, I guess it could be placed anywhere and maybe the standard sticky tutorials would link to it.
If anyone has additional stuff he would like to restore – please post and I'll try to put it up in the list.
Mandragore & racerx_, thanks for the answers!
I have opened a thread here with all info to do automatic backup of all you have asked for, and more.

Very good, thanks!
Hi guys, ive had my touch hd 3 days now and ive been riducled by everyone that i didnt go for a iphone, however ive spent alot of time on here and its plain to see that so much can be done and be added!
Now i gotta confess i dont know what a CAB file is, i dont know what ROM is, i dont know what this manilla is, so i hope you can see my probs!
During my 3 days ive managed to download the blackpad dialler and the hd tweak(altho they took me ages), but i wanna change the theme, the wallpapers, i wanna add apps like google maps etc..
I hope this thread will attract people who can help people like myself out and explain how to do stuff and where to go etc..
Btw how do i choose a downloaded song(synced via windows media) to be my ringtone? haha such a amateur!
Thank you for any help in advance!
have you read the wiki? that will help allot, helped me 2.
the wiki??? lol
a .cab is an install file you copy to your phone and then tap it to execute from like file explorer. most installs if they are exe you run them on you PC and they send a cab file to you phone through activesync. but if its a cab file just copy to you phone and execute. If you dont like it yoou can uninstall from eith the phone in Settings/System/Remove Program.. or from you PC on activesynce or mobile device center.
Where on the phone is file explorer? but thanx for the rest, actually makes sense, god im blonde!
where can i read about this wiki?
Its in programs.
Honestly, I would reccomend you go through your phone. Go into programs and see whats there. Then go into each of the settings options and see whats there.
Then learn the hierarchy of your phone memory.
You will see that it is similar to Windows.
The top directory will be"My Device" and under it will be "Storage Card" which is your memory card (similar to an external hard drive analogy for a desktop) and then you will see Program Files where programs are installed and My Documents contains the following folders and more:
My Videos where you videos you record will be saved
My Pictures
This is the wiki page - it's VERY helpful: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
And, the software wiki is here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Software
You chose well. The Blackstone is an amazing bit of kit!
Keep in mind that it's basically a small computer with an aerial. Unlike the iPhone its not just a fancy phone.
Any computer needs a way for the user to tell it what to do... thats the operating system in the blackstone that's windows mobile (or winmo). You also need a user interface (ui) so you can tell it what to do. The HD uses touchflo 3d (tf3d). That's the front screen with all the tabs and clocks and stuff.
Like any computer... programs are installed to do different things. The dialers, sms, camera are all programs. This means you can install new programs to do things or overwrite programs to change what you already have.
These programs come in two main forms the cab file and the exe. The cab runs only on the phone and the exe will only run on the phone or your computer. There are lots of cabs to do lots of things. Download one that's interesting and run it.
Everything is stored in files on your blackstone. You can look through these files using file explorer... you will find that in your programs tab on tf3d. files are stored in folders. that means you can organise them the way you like.
The secret to the blackstone is to think about what you'd like to be able to do with it then search here or google to find a way... there usually is one.
I deleted folders I thought were empty. The shortcuts contained inside were merely contained in ROM so I could not see them. If I can create the folders again the shortcuts will be available again.
Can anyone tell me the default folder structure for the start menu?
Also, I downloaded a manila 2d theme and activated it, but my today screen is still the standard 6.5 mobile today screen. Can anyone help me?

If you downloaded and installed a Manilla 2D theme but the screen still shows 6.5 - then you need to click on START>Settings>Today and the 2nd tab (items) uncheck the Windows Default and Enable Touchflo
As for deleting folders and the icons within - you deleted them then they are gone -recreating a folder isnt going to recreate an icon within it - best just hard reset and start over if it is important and came in the ROM
Detroit Doug
PS - Issues with a specific ROM should be asked within the thread of the person that created it, you might find your answer there already asked and answered or at least someone will be there to respond rather than out in the general threads
A hard reset will get your phone back to the original state of the latest rom you flashed. So your folders that you accidently deleted will be back. Be sure to back up your contacts, messages, etc. with PIM backup to your storage card. You will need to re-install any cabs you have installed after you do a hard reset.
nvm got it
