Text message SMS disappeared - P3300, MDA Compact III General

I have a problem with my O2 Orbit. When I go to my Inbox to read my text messages, the inbox shows a list of message fine. But when I tap in to read any particular message, the screen is blank, except the top and bottom of the windows bar is still there. The content of the text message is not showing, the number of the text message from is not showing. It is the same when I want to write a text message, the key board pops up, but I cant see what I am typing.
This is very annoying, this is the second time I have this problem. I had to hard reset and reinstall everything last time. But now happens again! Anybody had this problem? Knows how to solve it?

You're not using CE Star are you?

yes i am using ce star. is that the program causing the problem u think?
I have found out that it is something wrong in the registry.
I have done backup, if I dont restore registry, it's fine. but of cos i have to reinstall other things

Please help I can't see my text messages!

I receive messages, the inbox show a number of messages between brackets, but when I open it is empty, it does not show any messages. Anybody got a clue why? :?:
Duplicate issue needs help
I am having the same issue. I have the ATT fuze, however this is my third one. The first one was perfect until there was a party foul that took it away. The second one had a typing issue so I replaced it. This third one is doing the same as the above poster mentioned. My today screen will show that I have text messages waiting to be opened but when I navigate to the folder there is nothing in it. Performed a hard-reset but the same thing happened. Installed third party software and now I can view the messages and reply. I am not happy with this "bandaid" but it will temporarily do till this can be resolved. Please help.
ROM version: 1.95.502.5 WWE
ROM date: 10/20/08
there may be something wrong with your storage card
the storage card can, by any means, have nothing to do with it. i personally never had such a problem, so i can just guess:
sample situation:
- i receive an sms, i see a notification, with the sender and the first few words.
- instead of clicking read, i press the hardware mail button to open messaging and read the sms
- while having it opened, i delete it.
- i go back to home screen and there is still a message and a notification
now i have confused my phone showing me new messages, although i already read and deleted them.
that is the only way i could think of to even get in that situation.
btw. that is the same thing with missed calls. if i have a notification of a missed call and instead of clicking the notification i open the phone manually and look whose call i missed, i will still have the message on home screen, telling me, there was a call i didn't know about, although i already checked.
please make sure that the description above is not the case.
because that is a general bug/user mistake, since the notification service is not fully integrated in pocket outlook, sometimes it gives out older data if you bypassed it to get to your information. that is normal. next time you get a message, try clicking the notification and click read or save as read, and look what consequences that has in your messaging folder.
if then still there is no message to be found, right after you read it once, it is still probably an error in the communication between notification service and pocket outlook, but then it is not your fault anymore you'd probably have to flash another rom then,
OR
it is something completely different and you need to contact your carrier, that receiving sms doesn't work out for you, that either you get a new sim or other network settings need to be changed.
my solution
I made some changes using advance config and changed portrait and landscape mode to cleartype. the fuze does not work with cleartype in landscape mode. Turn that off and it begins to work.
Text Messages not displayed
I know this is a very old thread but did anyone come out with a solution.
I'm still using my Blue Angel and it's come up with this problem.
I think it was after I received an MMS message (the first I received).

View test message and send text message screens blank?

This is with the leaked official t-mobile wm6 rom. I can scroll through the messages just fine but clicking on one to view it just makes the screen blank, and replying to a message or compsing a new message just shows a blank screen as well (except the menu items seem to be there but not functioning).
Up until a few hours ago this was working perfectly, is this possibly a glitch with the program itself? Could someone upload the txtman.exe program so I could try and replace it?
Me too same problem.
Dont wanna to hard reset thinking there are someone could help to solve this.
I am searching if there are tmail.exe cab file for wm6.
Thanks in advance.

Text Messages (1)

Anyone else having this problem? I deleted all my text messages and the header still says Text Messages (1) as if there is 1 unread one... ????!?!
Not sure exactly...When I get a text and read it but don't want to delete it stays on the topbar. I have to go back to text messages page on the panel and scroll on it again. It will usually then remove it from the topbar. If you don't need the text message just delete it and it also is removed from the topbar on homescreen. I don't know if thats what you are having issues with but that's not the end of the world for myself.
I'm using WM6.1. It has the threaded text message strings. After i go into a message/conversation and read the text message it should remove the (1) from the top bar signifying no unread messages. I've read all my messages and even went as far as deleting them all but the (1) still persists!
Did you try to restart the phone like turn it off and back on... Also check your MMS maybe you have some message that was unread in there... Check it out and get back if this does not fix it...
Go to your registry and check the value there, look in : HKCU\System\State\Messages, and look in sms or wherever and check the count, if at 1 then set it to 0.
Also, remember the message is not "Read" if you just view without responding.
if you dont respond, you need to <- out of it....not hitting the home key or cancel or whatever.
that is the only thing that works for me.
I have a similar problem, when I view a text message it is not marked read immediately, and home screen shows the mail icon. To get over this problem, I do the following: after reading a message, I press Menu->Close instead of just pressing the BACK button.

nooooooooooooooooo i can't seem to do anything to get rid of it! i delete all the messages and even after that reset the registry key stated by showaco and after a restart it still shows [email protected] ARGghghhghghg
Could it be an unread message stored in another folder such as Drafts or Trash?
Unfortunately not
I checked each folder and went as far as emptying them all
Listen, i try to explain how to do:
go to : Start-settings-accessibility- sms inbox threating -and make it :disable

open text messages and view if you have messages unread...

close another time text messages with celetask and im sure thats is ok

SMS app eats some texts

Does anyone else get this?
Sometimes, when I compose a text and press Send in the default TouchFlo app, nothing happens.
Other times, it turns out it has sent, but the message doesn't show in my Sent Items, nor does it appear on the TouchFlo app's thread.
Sometimes it works fine, the message appears in Sent and I've got a proper threaded view of the conversation.
Is there any fix to make it more consistent, or failing that, can I remove it and go back to the default WM 6.1 threaded SMS view?
sometimes when i send a message through touchflo i think it gone then i go into the windows messaging part and i get the message tellimg it couldnt be send
Yeah, I get that too. But if you forward it to the same number, it goes fine. Very weird.
I'm hoping this new ROM fixes it, but can't test it yet.
Nice to know it's not just me, anyway.

text messaging

it always shows that i have one message even if i've deleted all of them... how do i get rid of that???
any ideas?
I only came across this once. It did not delete the whole message. If you are in the all messages page nothing shows up but in the TF3d page it shows 1/1 on the right side and a line that is normaly under the name or number, is that what you are seeing?
Someone else managed to solve this, and they list some possible solutions. You'll need to search the forums for the things mentioned, though. Apparently this 'unread text' error happens once in a while.
