Is there a way to get my P3300 sync with my notebook over WLan.
(outlook contacts, and reminders)
On my old Pocket PC its possible without any problems.
But i think microsoft has removed the WLan sync in the new Active Sync.
Thanks for your help!
(ps. i didn't find anything like this with the search function)
It is not possible with ActiveSync. Microsoft removed synchronization over WiFi for security reasons and you can't use old AS with PDA with Windows Mobile 5.
do you know a other way to synchronize my outlook on the pda?

With the USB-cable or through Bluetooth are the only other options.

I know that Activesync is free and helps to sync my PPC to Microsoft Outlook and it is based on Partnership. I want to sync the same Microsoft Outlook .PST file which can reside in my Office PC and my Home PC.
Even when I have the same .PST file in Microsoft Outlook from my office PC copied to my home PC, Activesync will take it as a different PC and I'll have to combine all the information from my PPC and Microsoft Outlook and delete duplicates after that. This is very troublesome.
Is there something or setting that I can do on Activesync to solve this problem or is there other software that can solve this troublesome step?
When I was using Palm OS, I don't have this problem
Thanks.
i hv this problem
i cant select calender with my active sync to sync it with my BA
did any one yet able to get me the settings to get out of this mess as i have most of my meetings planed and saved on my outlook
Hi,
I have a question about synchronizing Artemis and Outlook (2003) on PC.
When I change something in Task or Appointment (reminder, due time...) in Outlook on PC - Activesync immediately synchronize PC with Pocket Outlook on Artemis. But if I change something in contacts or tasks on Artemis it doesn't synchronize. I must run synchronization manually or simply disconnect and reconnect device with USB cable.
Could You tell me if it works the same way in your PDAs? Of course if anybody knows how to change this I will be grateful.
I remember that with my old Asus A716 and Windows 2003 every change in pocket database was synchronized with PC at once.
Maybe somebody have a few minutes however?
Just add a task to pocket, then remove it and write her if it caused immediate synchronization with PC, please.
Tested
Hiya,
i have just tested this and found the same results as you did, even when i closed and reopened Outlook the change did not appear.

Thanks,
I didn't noticed that - I will try it. If it's normal WM5 behavior and if user can't change this it's not very convenient...
In fact, when I closed Mobile Outlook on PDA, and then started it again - synchronization icon was grayed out and even if I clicked synchronize button on PDA - synchronization didn't started. I think you must disconnect and reconnect USB cable -> Mobile Outlook starts automatically and then synchronization starts too.
But look at this:
I connected PDA to PC, then I changed one of my tasks due date (synchronization on PC didn't start), then I disconnected device and I had one task with two due dates - first on PDA, second on PC.
I don't know if it is standard on WM5 with ActiveSync 4.5, bug in WM5 or AS, or bug in Artemis. Or maybe we have something in our systems messed up?
Greetings and thanks for your help
Hello, the company I work for has disable ActiveSync and therefore I cannot sync my email/contact/calendar, etc. from the Exchange Server.
As such I have a work-around for email/calendar, but need my contacts from MS Outlook on my Hermes. Is there a way to manually import my contacts onto the WM6 phone?
I am open to other work-arounds....thanks in advance.

The simplest workaround is copy the contacts folder from the Exchange Server to a local .PST and then sync trought Outlook 2003 in your local PC. This is two phase sync, but this is the only you can do if ActiveSync is disable in your Exchange Server.
Be carefull when ActiveSync come back with the dup contacts..
Is there a deep-seated problem with syncing WM 6.1 with Vista's WMDC?
I have tried just about every WM 6.1 ROM produced by the excellent chefs here. On every occasion, my Hermes syncs perfectly on the first setup. However, every time I reconnect, the sync fails, with a message that there is a problem with the desktop PC. Deleting the partnership solves it for one sync, then it fails on subsequent ones. So, every time, I re-flash back to my trusty WM6 ROM and, voila, syncing returns to normal.
This occurs with every 6.1 ROM I have tried. It happens with my desktop and my laptop, both running Vista. I have checked that I have the latest version of WMDC. I have ensured that I have unticked "Enable advanced network functionality' in the USB-to-PC option.
I need to sync my Hermes every day, so this problem stops me using any of the 6.1 ROMs. Am I the only one with this problem? Has anyone had the problem and solved it?

Yes, both desktop and laptop are using that version of WMDC.
I have that constantly as well with every 6.1 ROM i've used.
My "workaround" is to turn off the calendar sync, allow the other items to sync, then turn calendar sync back on and re-sync
Then that PC will sync properly until I try to sync to another PC and I have to turn off calendar, etc... again
I've using WM 6.1 ROMs with Vista for some time now and have never had that problem. The only difference is that I leave the enable advance network..blah..blah checked. Try it.

Thanks very much for your response. I am heartened to hear that someone else is experiencing the same problem, and it is not just me.
I will try the calendar sync work-around.
Blackout128. Thanks for your reponse as well, but I have tried it with that box ticked and unticked. From Radimus above, it could be a calendar issue. Do you sync with Outlook Calendar?
Yes, I sync the calendar. I guess it was kind of stupid to suggest something that simple. I hope the calendar issues works, who knows with vista, I may have that problem tomorrow.

My final question, and this is the killer question - Are you using Outlook 2003 or 2007?
I use Outlook 2007, and my suspicion is that there could be a problem syncing with that version. Those who use Outlook 2003 might not experience it.
If you say you use Outlook 2003, great, perhaps I have got to the root of the problem.
If you say you use Outlook 2007, I will pack my bags and go!

I have no problem slashing and syncing using Outlook 2002.
Having read Radimus' workaround, I re-installed a WM 6.1 ROM. Once again, I experienced sync problems. But, as soon as I removed Calendar from the sync items, everything worked well.
Is there anyone out there able to sync calendar items between a WM 6.1 Hermes and an Outlook 2007 PC?
I am running Outlook 2007. Here is my Outlook Info.

Oh, man. I see you're a total newcomer, welcome to the Windows Mobile world! Your phone will look like complicated at first, but after a couple weeks playing with it, you should be able to start harnessing it's power.
Pocket Outlook is integrated on your phone. The contact tab, calendar, tasks, etc IS pocket Outlook itself.
In order to sync your contacts with windows, you need to have the syncing software installed. It's on your phone's CD. If not, then you can get it from Microsoft:
Windows XP and earlier, use Activesync.
Windows Vista, Seven, use Windows Mobile Device Center.
After the syncing software is installed, just plug in your phone, select activesync, and follow the instructions on-screen.
To sync your hotmail account directly to your phone, you can use Windows Live (add it to the program tabs) and then sign-in. If you want it directly in outlook PC, then search for the Outlook Connector.
For hotmail; go to the TF3D--> Settings--> email setup menu and enter your details as prompted; it will automatically create a hotmail connection file for you
