I've searched the forums but can't see anything about the problem I have been experiencing since flashing with WM6. I've tried various WM6 versions but I am still unable to send or received MMS's on my Orange SPV M3100. I have checked and re-checked my MMS settings. I have tried installing operater settings cabs and have also received the MMS settings via SMS from Orange. STILL I cannot get any of my MMS messages to send and cannot receive them either. Has anyone else on the Orange network running WM6 experienced this same problem? Does anyone know of a solution?? Hope someone out there can help. Thanks.
K dude, firstly what is the wap version and sending size limit in the server settings? Actually, can you post the settings you are using?? (include everything, the port numbers, gateway etc.. JUST the mms settings)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=224183
worked well for me!
No problem. Here you Go...
In Connection Settings:
Name for the connection: Orange MMS
Select Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access Point name: orangemms
User name: Orange (or blank)
Password: Multimedia (or blank)
Server Settings:
Server Name: Orange MMS
Gateway: 192.168.224.010
Port Number: 8080
Server address: http://mms.orange.co.uk
Connect Via: Orange MMS
Sending size limitation: 300K
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
In the preferencs tab, what should I set the photo resolution as? This setting is not mentioned in the MMS setup instructions on Orange.net but is currently set as WVGA (320x240) as I do not believe Orange handle photo's of a higher resolution. Is this correct?

Try changing the port number from 8080 to 9201. The sending size limit and wap version will change, but leave them as they are and give that a try!?
Note the capital letters at start of Orange and Multimedia !!!
And the port numbers wrong! It should be 9201

Thanks for the link. I cross checked all my setting with the ones in the post and they match except that the Orange MMS server address was quoted as "http://mms.orange.co.uk/". I don't know if the final forward slash is important but I tried adding it anyway but I still can't get my MMS's to send.
Worth a try though.

Have you used port 9201????
Thanks for the tips guys. I tried altering port to 9201. The password should be "Orangemultimedia" not "Multimedia" as I originally stated in my previous post. Anyway, I've tried passwords "multimedia", "orangemultimedia", "Multimedia" and "Orangemultimedia" as passwords. Still no joy I'm afraid. What the hell is wrong here I wonder? I'll keep fiddling with it.
Try sending yourself one. If your settings are right, that usually helps.

Try sending myself an MMS? Yes, I do this every time I change a setting to check if it has worked. Unfortunatelt my MMS's just get stuck in the outbox. The phone tries 4 times to send them then moves them to the drafts folder. I'm right out of ideas now. I see that there is a new WM6 ROM out so I dare say I'll be trying this out soon. Who knows, maybe this will help.
On my TyTN (using O2) I connect to MMS through the default internet connection rather than have a dedicated connection setup for mms. You could try setting to connect through the standard GPRS connection instead ????

I had exactly the same problem as you on Orange UK. The settings all look right at first glance but you have an error in them. I have confirmed this by changing my settings to match yours and MMS stops working, changing them back to mine makes everything work again (for me anyway).
It may sound bizarre but the setting you need to change is your MMS Gateway.
Change it from:
192.168.224.010
to
192.168.224.10
Let me know if it works for you. Technically these settings are the same but I can confirm that they are NOT. The first does not work, the second does. Took me loads of trial and error to find this one!!

I also had this problem with mms on Orange UK WM6, and can confirm changing the gateway IP works. Thanks Rabdo

rabdo you are a life saver!! I have been tearing my head out over this MMS probelm and it was all down to a "0" !!! Bloody zeroes! Anyway, I can't thank you enough mate. One last thing, do you know what the sending size limitation should be set at? 100K, 200k or 300k? Also, have you ever tried sending video clips via MMS.? I tried this today but when the video MMS was received, the video only plays for a mzx of 8 seconds. This is despite the file size of the MMS being well within the minimum 100K size limitation. Anyone else noticed this?
The video may only playback for 8 sec because the mms was set to play for 8 sec??
Try saving the file on your sd card or device, then playback with TCPMP or media player??

Yup, my hair took a bit of a battering from that voicemail problem too but that's been fixed now too thanks to the good peolpe of xda-developers. What a great bunch of people

i have a 8525 unlocked and super CID on the t-mobile network..
i am using the HTC offical Release of WM6
i have everything set properly on my phone. i have even gone to the extent of calling t-mobile for support but they said i have all my information correct( modem connection and proxy server) i was wondering if anyone else on the t-mobile network is having the same problem.. any feed back or help is appretiated
P.S. The phone DOSE connect to the GPRS network and shows a connection ticker.... seems to time out when downloading MMS/Web content

Hey there. I am in the same boat. I have the TyTn which i'm using on Tmobile (US). I walked through withe the Tmobile rep and validated all the settings but my MMS still does not work.
My internet and all does. very wierd. any help appreciated.
Thanks,

Similar problem
I have a Tmobile Wing, and been having this problem for about 4 months now, it works sending mms to other Tmobile customers but not for other carriers. ANy info on this matter would be appreciated.
Thanx, Erros
Hoping I can help All Tmobile Users WIth a TyTn Device Cause I would Shoot Myself if My MMS didn't Work ! lol
I have 2 Working TyTn devices With Working MMS Sending & Recieving.
At this Point I'm Sure From the Fustration lol You have your MMS Settings Memorized lol But Here there are Just in Case....
Server Name : T-Mobile MMS
Gateway : 216.155.165.50 (Tip if you have 216.155.165.050 it Probably will Not Work)
Port Number : 8080
Server Address :http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
If you Have this So Far All is Good. After This point I will get into Details Cause this Next Step Can be Tricky......
Connect Via: This is Where it Gets Tricky. From My experience You can Send or Receieve MMS message Successfully through wap.voicestream.com SO ! if you have Internet2.voicestream.com or Internet3.voicestream.com YOU MOST LIKELY WILL NOT RECIEVE or BE ABLE TO SEND MMS.....So Since all of us on T-Mobile Don't have 3G yet(Shut up Cingular Users I Don't wanna Hear it ! ) And There Really isn't Much of a Speed decrease or Increase from Using the Different Internet Connections I would Leave the Internet connection aLways at Wap.Voicestream.com.
If you feel like the Internet Speed is "Faster" on The others or the Other Internet Connections give you More Connectivity Options, You Need to Setup 2 Different Connections for the Internet. One for MMS and One for Your Regular Internet Browsing. This Is Where The Option "Connect Via" Gets Tricky. If you set up The MMS Using Wap.voiceStream.com as a General Internet COnnection you can Set
Connection Via : The Internet
If you Setup 2 Connections , One for MMS And One for Internet you will Name The MMS Connection What ever you Choose for ex. "Tmobile MMS" And then When Setting up the MMS and "Connection Via" option , you WIll Select what ever you called the MMS connection in the Drop Down Menu.
Sending Size Limitations : Sound be Set at Max Depending on What Version of MMS you are Using it'll be anywhere from 300k up to 600k in the Drop Down Menu
Wap Version : Wap 2.0
Hope This has Helped. If anyone Needs More help, clarification or Pix For Help of Setup I'd be More than Happy to. Tmobile is so UNHELPFUL when they Find out you are Using a "Non-Tmobile" Phone. So I"ll Help out as Much as I can.
Here you go!
Here you kids go... this will fix server settings and enable tmobile customers running on custom cooked roms to receive the full size picture (without installing these files, you may be able to get it to work with the proper server settings, but pictures will be downscaled). Heres the ultimate fix
enjoy!

Okay I know some people will likely flame me, and yes I have searched the forums and google and spoken to 02 who say they don`t support the S620 (they said it was an XCA100).
I know the actual settings but none of the instructions I have read match what is on my S620, it has the latest Kavana 6.1 ROM and an 02 (UK) pay as you go sim card in.
I have tried going to the connections setting and adding the details manually but then that is where the instructions differ. So having spent a week searching I will now take the flames, if any, and hopefully some one will talk me through how to set up mms and internet.
this is the settings i use? for payg.

Have you spelt "password" correctly, not "passward" as above, it seems to work fine on my S620 otherwise.
Is anyone facing this problem ? if yes please find below the apn setting for orange switerland:

APN : internet
Proxy :

Nom d'utilisateur :

MMSC :
Proxy MMS :
Port MMS :
Protocole MMS : WAP 2.0
MCC : 228
MNC : 03

Type d’APN (nom du point d’accès): mms
But real problem is that it seems that you can not be on internet and send a mms. You need to disconnect send mms and reconnect to internet.
Looking for solution this is anoying.

Ok, I'm going to bump this as I have the exact same problem on o2.
I've been trying to send an MMS all day, read this and turned off the internet, sent the message and turned internet back on.
What a bug! Anyone got any ideas why its doing this or can anyone actually send an MMS while connected to the mobile internet?
Let us know and if its not really a bug, we don't need to report it to HTC
edit-- Looks like I can't receive MMS when connected to internet either.
Anyone else having this issue?
MOD - Can you also move this to Q&A, it doesn't need to be in Development forum.
Ok, Feel like I'm spamming this thread, but hey ho!
Got mine to work. It now swithches off the mobile data, receives/sends the MMS and then enables mobile data. I had to change the APN settings fro my mobile web to include the Wap details, so replacing the APN, username, mmsc settings etc.
Everything apart from Type, leave that as default.
Save, restart phone, worked for me.
Just posted the following on the Modaco ROM thread:
I'm on Modaco 2.0, and although I seldom use MMS, I did try sending a picture message whilst listening to some music streaming from Spotify, and connected to the internet via HSDPA. It all worked fine.
I do notice that I've a separate APN for picture messaging, so I wonder if it is APN "sharing" issue?

Regards,
Dave
Been struggling with the combination of both today and this worked for me...
for internet access : you have to type default in apn type
for mms : apn type = mms
I'm also using the modaco rom...
I can confirm that my "Picture Message" APN has an APN type of MMS, whereas my "T-Mobile UK" APN (for general internet use) does not have an APN type ("Not set").
Regards,
Dave
Mine had an APN setting for MMS of "mms" and an APN setting for Internet as "default"
Wouldn't send or receive though until I did the update.
Gonna inform HTC, would be grateful if anyone else having the issue could also do it.
Wow, that fixed my problem as well on Vodafone CZ. Thanks ! I was just thinking of extracting the stock rom backup to find out the original apn settings
Btw where is it stored ? There are some files in /etc and /system that have example apn settings, but no actual data. According to short google search it is some kind of internal db.

This also addresses the receive issues.
I have it working, I really haven't read anything about people getting manila 2.5 and att mms functional. If someone has a cab out there disregard this but I searched and couldn't find a direct fix. I'm exhausted and will post in the morning. So those of you who love the new text interface as much as I, don't get your hopes up and think you have iPhone syndrome. You don't it works.
I am really looking forward to this - no MMS in the Manila 2.5 is really the only think missing in this ROM. Thanks and can't wait to see what it is!
Manila 2.5 Fix
Hey guys, here it is. I was beat last night.
http://thewingster.com/mmsfixm25.aspx
First use that link and download the OTHER netowrks fix by Valkyrie/Ace10134.
This will create a SampleMMSC MMS server in addition to the ATT one. Once that is done, go to all messages in you text messaging, then menu, then options. Once in this menu, hit menu again and hit MMS server. Here is where you need to put your settings and I think where the issue on the other fix has been. ATT's send limit is 600KB while Manila 2.5 defaults to 1024kb.
Server name: Whatever the hell you want it to be.
IP address: wireless.cingular.com
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Connect via: MEdia Net
Send lmit: 600 KB
WAP version: WAP 2.0
Let me know how this works for you guys. Make sure you actually have the phone set to use the new MMS server too =)
If this does the trick for it some one cab it up for me please. I can't right now. Good luck guys. Let me know if this does the trick for you. I have sent many of MMS fine.

IP address: 192.168.224.010
Server Address http://mms.orange.co.uk/
Port: 9201 (some users have reported 8080 works if 9201 doesn't)
Connect via: GPRS
Send limit: n/a
WAP version: n/a
I tailored the settings i found here:
http://www.filesaveas.com/mms.html
to fit the server config is on my phone. Try using the 600kb send limit and if that works try the 1024 limit. The European networks are better than ours. Let me know how that works for you.
OOhhh... I can't install that Valkyrie fix - it makes my System Seven email crash. Oh, well, back to the drawing board.
hmm, i was going to say try changing the stock att setting but i think the send limit only goes to 300 in it. see if the att cab from that link still crashes and chenge the settings it it. let me know.
I tried the ATT and the General cab, both crash my Seven. Oh, well.
I"ll try to hunt down the registry keys later and export them see if that will do the trick

This worked perfectly!!! Bravo
Well this did solve half my problem. I can now receive MMS but still can't send them. How ever I do have a work around for sending using e-mail as long as I'm sending to at&t customers. (cell#@mms.att.net), which will work for me most of the time. I'm sure if I search around I could find other MMS e-mail settings. Thanks for your info & efforts. If anyone has a suggestion on how to get it to send I'm open. Thanks again.
