Pants can any mods edit the poll - if not just use the top version......
I am assuming that 0.10 is the same as the vanilla ROM? I flashed the one that, if I remember correctly, was not the vanilla ROM (or I just have oldtimer's disease LOL).

I guess the answer is to reset the poll occasionally (or just delete and recreate it).
One way to interprett the fact that the ROM from yesterday is (currently) very popular is that there's a good chunk of us who check several times for something new so we can reflash our phones constantly instead of actually using them to make and receive phone calls. (What is wrong with us?!)
Alternatively, maybe it's just that more and more people are taking the plunge and so selecting the most recent ROM. Interesting, anyway.

I need to install ce-star to support chinese input and display,

I didn't start the thread to decide what to install. It's just for fun to see how many people have what.

Black is the best, hands down.
i use them all at one point,
Black is fast and quite functional. Support regarding installation is very good too.
CUSTEL's 2.5
The best ROM I have tried out of 10 in terms of stability and reliability.
Custel's is the most stable. Black has too many bluetooth and sleep of death issues.
I havent frozen up once with Custel, I use to freeze three or four times a day with black.
Has anyone lost their wireless/wired modem function now, I'm on Black2.5 and can't use my set as a modem for my lappy, tried BT,IR, USB...none work now? I really need this feature to log into work when in the field. Any ideas?
edit: I let my fat li'll fingers do the walking and found it...AWESOME site guys, well done to all. You put MS to shame!

hi jj i have customise ur black 3.1 with new bluetooth drivers and audioa manager and office 2k and its friigin killer. awaitng ur new release but i might be holding onto this for awhile.

I must say i tried all the roms. they are really good custel is very stable lsvw is also great i only hate the ugly 3g icon and also i tried sleuths. i have customise my own black rom based on black 3.0.1 with new bluetooth drivers an so on and this one really works for me.

My friends and me tried Black Shahow( black 4.0) today. It really got big memory as previous black version, free ROM 53M and RAM 30.4M, noticed that TOTAL RAM showing near 50M instead of 48M. The HTC home looks quite ok but for the weather panel the cities are limited for selection. THE BIGGEST BUG IS that sometime it CAN'T START PROPERLY and ALWAYS HANG during the re-starting period. You may need to reset it for several time just to start the phone.
Long time expectation but still encountered major bug.
Hope JJ can solve these bugs.

Anyway, just FYI:
the original one was ok but jj added a file to fix HSDPA - this cuased a comflict with the current version of the ROM.
Apparently, if you disabled HSDPA things are better.
That's a workaround until jj releases a fixed ROM a bit later on.
try turn to landscape will be better but still need wait for new one..
most issues has been already resolved on www.4winmobile.com . if you need help, go to jasjamming forum and ask there. it was his request, and he did not answering question on two places. bye.

No. For you maybe, but on my 8525 it's fast as hell and haven't had ANY problems or this "hang" problem either. The ROM is awesome!
I've run the rom also...I'm having no problems either. I experienced a hang during the install but after that I've been smooth and I'm HSDPA.

I tried it but it still doesn't work, previously i installed official wm5.0 rom / qtek 2.11.255.2. It works quite well and stable. Do anyone have idea how to fix the bug?

Seriously, there is a Hermes fans chatting room. In the chatting room, it is complainted as well that they got same experience as me. There is one similarity that we performed complete flash using Qtek 2.11.255.2 before updating to Black Shadow (4.0). I am thinking if there are conflictions between Black Shadow and Qtek latest WM5.0 ROM. However, we don't experience such bugs using Black Diamond which i regarded it as more stable one and faster than Shadow and some other cooked roms. Unfortunately, i can't access 4winmobile.com and can't comment this to JJ.
Should JJ read this may he give us a solution.
Anyhow, thanks for his great works and best regards.

your best bet then would be to post at 4winmobile than here as that is where he supports it.

Hi, i just downloaded and tried the shadow.rar. After flashed it is still the same, can't start properly. Is it possible because of Radio? Someone with radio 1.38 told me his phone working well. By the way, i installed CE-star.

ey, works great for me with 1.38 right now...so seems your issues aren't related to Radio version.
Try without CE-star (perhaps not compatible), and post results.
I find it thoroughly ammusing! all these posts dissing the rom creator and booing if the f**k up the install or the rom isn't perfect! when will you guys realise that we are in the thick of beta land! everything is a gamble! you don't put your head in the ovan just because someone else did and got away with it!
i'm pretty new to this rom business and only tried a few. I *****ed once but then came to my stark realisation. IT'S ALWAYS A GAMBLE! read the notes that come with the rom!
these guys are clued up enough to work at M$ (or Apple. imagine mobile OSX on a tytn!).
I think you guys need to chill and take it as it comes! that's the deal!

I have a 8525(Herm100) I"m running the TNT 2.0 Rom And for Some Reason every time I"m on the Phone with someone talking, I can not Use Any of the Letter Keys that Share #'s. Even if I use The white Dot Function key its a No GO . Is there a Fix or a settiing I've over Looked on my Phone ?
this has been covered already.. its a problem in newer roms.. only rom with this issue fixed so far to my knowledge is vp3's 3.61

no flame at all. but yea his rom is the only rom that is newer that has it fixed.. which sorta sucks i wish one of the barebones rom had it fixed in it but for now im stuck using vps rom

Def ! I"m Trying To get some Answers now.... Hoping MAybe it's Just the New Build he Used..... If that' sthe Case I"ll take the build he's using and just make my Own Rom. SOmeone said Is had Some To Do with the XIP file And they Can't Duplicate it. WM thing ? Which is Confusing, No Matter What build We use or Rom it's still WM So Im trying to get some Answers.... Yeah I just Read it And replied.... so If it's fixed in This Build I guess I should use his Build to Build my own Rom Just th eWay I want it. That's The Only Option I could come up with so Far. Vp3g's rom Looks And is Stable but the TnT Rom Has EVERYTHING that I use as far as apps Are concerned so I"m back against a wall here....

I've tried Josh's V15 Manilla2D Rom, and while I love it, it leaves very little room for extra storage and programs.
What's the consensus about other Manilla2D roms out there? Which have the smallest footprint?

M2D_Light_Test.7z is the manilla2d test, and it's stable as hell man!
edit: oh and just so you know, a suggestion is, if you have a question per say on a certain rom, try posting on that thread instead of opening new threads..

Lots of memory, I can install what I want, and comes prebuilt with Manilla2D.
There are however some problems with it... which is why I guess, it's not a released version.

Does the m2d interface work fully for you?
I can't add any contacts to the People widget, the weather widget won't let me add a location, the program launches won't let me add programs to it...

i've had success in those yes.. thats really odd.. i'll update it tonight with a new build hopefully.. i'm gonna have some free time after work tonight to do that.

I have the same issues Also i tested after putting rom back to o2 default and installing yours, running on o2 hermes 100, i also lost signal on it. Not sure why there. Had to go back to old one i was using.

Interestingly I replied to this last night and it's not here, um ...
It's the stock ROM and WM V6.5.
I'm running SPB Mobile Shell 3.x but it wasn't there even before I installed it.

Is it a carrier ROM? Which one?
I'm not on the stock ROM, so even if it's Sprint I won't know if it comes with a task manager.
Why not just install one or flash a ROM with one...?

I've tried about 7-10 different task manager files, none really worked.
I'd flash a new ROM if I could get some straight answers as to the most stable and useful one. Everyone has their favorites, so the discussion gets a bit muddled. I'm in a Motorhome right now and may be for longer then I had anticipated, so if I do, I'm not in the position to play/experiment.
Any ideas?
Well of course opinions will muddle the discussion of "most stable and useful" - everyone is going to have a different angle of what they feel fit those criteria.
I don't really use WinMo much anymore (Android is way too much fun ) but EnergyROM always worked well for me. I'm on Titanium lately, because I don't care how it looks - I just want it to boot quickly to get me into Android quickly .

I like Android, but with it phoning home, and the lack of audio through B/T (yet - I need a headset in the car and walking around), I can't use it on a daily basis - yet.
Hell'ava job though!
I've found ark-switch which works - mostly, so I can live with it.
Now if I can just figure out how add programs to a drop down start button, I'll be happy.
