I have an SPV M5000 and want to know if I can update just the Radio Version.
I currently have the following device information
Operator version 7.130.1.174
ROM Version 1.30.90.WWE
ROM date 02/24/06
Radio Version 1.03.00
Protocol Version 42.36.P8
ExtROM Version 1.30.174.WWE
I know there is an update for the XDA Exec on the O2 website but I am reluctant to change anything until I know whether the SPV will function properly if I update it. (Orange haven't done an update as far as I can tell..??)
If I do update is it likely to make a difference to my phone???
Regards
Steve
probably yes, read the 'universal' section of this forum

Hi All,
I am a newbie with Radio upgrade. I recently bought a O2 XDA IIs which I believe is Asia version and I am using it here in Australia.
I have problem with my mobile connection (sometimes it drops out for no reason), will radio upgrade will help to stablise the connection?
My current radio version is 1.02.00 and the extRom is 1.31.920.
Can I upgrade the Radio ROM to v1.08.00? has anyone test the ROM before? if not which Radio version should I update?
Much appreciate.
I always go for the latest update that I know is compatible with my config.
In your case, I would try the 1.08.00...read the thread and have a ROM backup ready, just in case.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Am using the MDAIII on T-mobile in the UK my Device information are as follows
ROM Version 1.0.6.00 ENG
ROM Date 08/05/04
Radio Version 1.00.00
Protocol Version 1337.30
ExtRom Version 1.06.160ENG
can someone please let me know what the latest ROM version is for this device and where I might be able to get it.
I really appreciate the help
Unless you want to try Windows Mobile 2005 - you've got the latest official release for that model.
I have the subject phone with:
ROM version 1.32.10 WWE
ROM date 12/17/04
Radio Version 1.02.10
Protocol version 1337.35
ExtROM version 1.32.115 WWE
and trying to unlock to use overseas on an upcoming trip. Can anyone tell me what program to use with may be some instructions.
Thanks

Hi all,
I now have a 1.11 radio, latest Vodafone UK Ext Rom 1.30.194WWE (need it to make mms etc work seamlessly - the only way I have found, manual settings not doing the job on top of an O2 build) and I have taken the ROM from the latest 02 release, version 1.30.107WWE
Q is, before I settle with this 'forever', is that the latest/best ROM? Or is there a better version/later version than .107? If so where please.
Also any sign of a 1.12 radio yet/anyone have a copy? I keep hearing of it....
Finally anyone got a backup that works and will restore my setup even if I upgrade ROM (like the old activsync backup used to)?
Greg.
Latest one upto my knowledge is 1.30.115 wwe from T-Mobile NL
Hi, can you give me a link to it please? Or tell me where to locate it? Cheers, Greg.
Its on ftp here m8.

extract it through winrar and run the upgrade file inside instead of running it directly to avoid upgrading your bootloader to 1.01.

First is a link to someone saying that the new T-mobile uk ROM is on devices being sold (or at least given out after repair)
This is what's on it
MDA PRO
ROM Version: 1.30.114 WWE
ROM Date: 13/04/06
Radio version: 1.10.03
Protocol Version: 42.44.P8
ExtROM version: 1.30.232 WWE
The second link is someone confirming that tmobile UK will be doing a general release on the 19th June. One minor number lower for ROM and ExtROM than the dutch versions but that might just be a country/operator thing and not have any real bearing on what's actually in the ROM.
Hi,
Can anyone please tell me the latest versions for xda2s
PH20b
Currently 1.40.00
03/10/05
1.12.00
1337.42
1.40.237
Having a few technical issues.
Have unlocked the phone to all networks but have been told I cannot take or receive calls because the radio may have been scrambled?
Cheers
RE: Radio issues
Had the same problem with my IIs after I bought it off ebay and tinkered with it to unlock it. After I reflashed the current rom and radio version from O2's software upgrade section for the IIs, all was fixed, and phone was still unlocked.
