What is the dopod rom. Sorry for being a newbie here.
Hi all,
Please explain to me how to upgrade only radio. I have JasJar with latest version of firmware.
Thank you
Marek
I just installed in my imate JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301 the 1.04.02 radio upgrade.
Seems to be working OK, but I question if following the upgrade the cab files from the Extended ROM has to run again as after the installation only had soft reset.
Default_CAB-Shortcut-CDL-04Aug05.CAB
Default_Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB
Default_Imate_PPC_SA_V5.5.03.cab
Default_pIE_View.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_SSD_BTUR_Patch_For_BT_Cannot_Initial.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_SSD_Shortcut_WWE.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_UNI_CDL_UAProf.sa.CAB
Default_Signed_Version.sa.CAB
Thanks.

Actually I don't know what is the dopod rom, all I know is that you can download the latest radio version from the below link.
I downloaded and installed it and it seems to work fine so far.
Battery performance had improved alot after the installation of the new rom.
BT headset had improved as well.
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Universal/
as far as I understood the Dopod Rom is the chinese version of the OS

Just download the latest radio version from the below mentioned ftp site and flash it to your Jasjar.
You will get an error message in the first time, and then it will be installed correctly in the second time.
After the installtion is complete you will have to hard reset your device.
You can access the ftp site from here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site
At the bottom of the page you will find Universal, and you can click on the universal uploads link.. you will find the radio version there.
Regards,
Hi,

Your extended rom will be installed again after the hard reset is done.
If you don't want the extended rom to be installed again, just do a softreset immediately after the installation of the main rom is finished so you will get the main rom only installed, and then you can chose which items from the exended rom to be installed and which not to be installed according to your needs.
I would advise you to install the extended rom on the SD card not on the main memory as this will save some space on your storage.
Regards,
khaledelfeki, thanks for your reply.
As I mentioned before, I installed the radio upgrade, and it's working OK, but I haven't hard reset the imate yet as it had soft reset, and didn't asked to do it... You think this is correct and doesn't affect the normal use of the imate as the cab files from the Extended ROM where not re-installed?

The next time I hard reset the imate (in a week, for different reasons I have to do it 3 or 4 times), I need any special tool or application to see the cab files on the Extended ROM?
Thanks in advance.

Betox,
I don't know about your extended rom because I'm using the Arabic ROM build and the extended rom differs according to the rom type and language.
So, I don't know whether it is correct or not to use the phone without the extended ROM..... but as far as I know it will never effect the main functions of the device.
SO, the best solution is to install the extended rom on the storage card instead of the main memory.
In my case as an example I installed the whole extended rom except the anti firus software which really effects the device speed.
Also I did not install the skype as it does not work in my place.
Furthermore, I did not install the backgammon as I don't use it.
I installed the whole extended rom otherwise.
Regards,
khaledelfeki, thanks for your prompt reply.
My question is how I can see the Extended ROM (and the cab files inside) after the soft reset just after completing the hard reset? File Explorer is OK or I need a special tool or application?
Also FYI, I suspect that this Radio 1.04.02 drains much more battery done the orignal 1.03.01. Has somebody experienced the same?
Thanks again.

OK, Try the CAB file attached below.
Regarding the battery issue, In my opinion that the battery performance is better than the original Radio Version.
To be more sure, I need to test it for a couple of days more.

Regards,
hey guys, i want to know if it's possible to upgrade the RADIO version without upgrading the ROM version of the Jasjar. My device is stable and i honestly dont want to mess around with it (it doesnt mean i dont wanna mess around with the radio though)
How do i do this upgrade?
TIA
Helo Pinoy,
Kamusta ka dyan? Saan mo nabili Universal mo?
You have to download the ROM upgrade then unpack it, then copy radio.nbf to a directory and run the attached file, it will update your radio only.
Tell me if it worked. BTW, is your Universal English?
Yes, defenitely possible.
While trying to upgrade I did exactly this. My device came back with the original rom but with another radio version.
Good luck.
Ruud
Jorgee, hey kabayan. I'm from los angeles. I got my universal (Jasjar) here. Yup, it's in english.
Thanks for the help guys.

Jorgee apart from been in Spanish, ¿it's any advantage in that ROM 1.13.74 ESN or Extended 1.13.169 ESN? I'm with movistar...
I installed the new radion version 1.04.10, but I had to hardreset it and so I had to reinstall everything from scratch

Well, the ExtendedROM is very small, i already just posted it to the upload section.
So where'd you buy your JASJAR?
I cant seem to find ANY accrssories for the Qtek. I don't even have a screen protector .... a SIN in my book.

please check http://www.lacasadelgps.com/catalog/default.php o http://www.mundopda.com/ o http://www.expansys.es/
Saludos.
So what ROM version are you using?
I tried checking the websites you mentioned, bioth Mundopda and lacasadelgps don't have screen protectors for the Qtek 9000 or i might be wrong. Expansys shiopping is kinda expensive but i will buy from them if I don't find anywhere else to buy.
Anyone else tried the QTEK spanish ROM I uploaded? How's it's performance compared to the other English ROM's?
Today I bought 4GB Transcend 150x SD card and I was terrifyed when I noticed that my pocket discovers 2GB card, not 4GB ,where is the problem?
I`m using this T-mobile ROM

Who can provide WM5 WWE ROM supported 4GB SDHC?
I like the speed of WM5, but no 4G card support, GPS not possible Pity!
I used HTC official WM5 ROM release , and tried many SDHC card patchs, but no possible.

i'm so sad to hear that.
WM5 is nearly 3 years out of date.
Maybe its time you tasted WM6 or WM6.1?
All I want to do is get my XDA exec to recognise 4GB non-SDHC SD cards.
I am running Mobile 5 and happy with it so I don't want to jeopardise that (especially the BT connectivity since I use a BT keyboard).
When I boot up I get the following info
R 1.04.02
G 42.37.P8
D 1.13 .82 wwe
The OS is Windows Mobile 5 5.1.1700 (Build 14354.0.1.1)
CPU is Intel PXA270
Ram 64MB
Flash Chip G3
model Number is PU10
The original network was O2 but the phone is unlocked
..........in case that helps
Can someone tell me which ROM update is needed and safe and where to get it?
Thanks
Well you have 2 options here:
Try this WM5 stable ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409966
Or move to a WM6 ROM, as any of them will recognize your SD
I recommend Tomal ROM´s
PD. READ the Wiki it would help you a lot!
you can serach rom ranju v7.6 .
