All the new tools over at the hermes forum isnt it possible to cook a WM6-rom for trinity with thoose. Damn that I dont have the knowledge.

I hope that the XDA team will extends XDA Live's support to the Trinity..

I'm a little confused. What does WM6 have or do that WM5 doesn't? I hate newly released Micro$oft products as they are generally full of bugs and holes and nothing seems to work right (Vista) or am I messing something? Just wondering what I would gain by moving to WM6.

WM5 - win_kernel in ROM
WM6 - win_kernel in XIP
we can't modify XIP
p.s. for TyTN WM6 RomUpdate - custom ROM
xda-developers not create this rom for Hermes - xda-developers only customized WM6 Rom

So the Hermes WM6 has XIP Kernel made especially for Hermes from MS? If we are to get WM6 on the Trinity, we need to find a WM6 ROM with a kernel that is made especially for the Trinity from MS? Is my logic right?

afterall it's reversible... if the phone doesn't boot, mtty your original OS.nb in and presto!

If you load hermes OS.nb to Trinity - you device die!
So we have to find a leaked WM6-rom for Trinity then. Hmmm probably easier to find water in the sahara dessert.
So will never see wm6 on trinity???
I've tried to flash the OS from hermes in my trinity. Doesn't work.
I thought my device had died but i managed to get into the bootloader (after reinserting battery) end reflash trinity rom
Today is a BAD day!!!

better not put radios on cooked roms, can easily brick the device... if you are testing OS just put OS on the nbh file.

is there any WM6-Rom works with Blackberry Connect on the Trinity?
I tried out some, but I couldn't find any version/combination that works.
It disconnects shortly after the first NW connection.

I have the same problem here. I am using DOPOD D810 with official WM6 ROM from HTC. I am using BB2.1 from Dopod site.
I install the WM6 original File Dopod and BB 2.1 and don't work

I thinkk it is fair to say, that so far no BBC client works under WM6 on the Blackberry. Would be great to hear any different...

We should edit coredll version (5.2.1437) in xip section to 5.1.195 (i.e)
And reflash this new rom. BB should work in this way )
I have red about these versions, but I did not want to try since nobody tried it out in the combination. I really hope someone cookes that in a ROM or make installable solutions.

Is any one working on getting WM6 upgrade for HP iPAQ hx2000 series ?
i second this question. i have a wizard on WM6 and my girlfriend has a HP iPAQ hx2495 on WM5 and she's jealous of my WM6. i would really like to find a stable upgrade for her.

the geeks @ XDA, WM6 for 4700 is out, so I think very soon they will come up with WM6 for hx2000 series too
my hx2795 has many similar functionalities like, same processor, memory etc. but I am not sure If I can use the 4700 port

managed to get it to display USB in the bottom left, but pressing calander button when it shows usb in the bottom corner seems to do nothing and it cant find the mobile device, this could be a windows vista error?
it now just says wrong language

Using wm6.1 now, but asked for wm2003se because if wm6.1 will not run OK then i'd like wm2300se ROM with little tools installed

I use wm6.1 on my hx4700, recently installed tomtom in my uncles 2003SE ipaq... It run MUCH FASTER on 2003SE than on my wm6.1. MUCH FASTER.
I only want things to work, and work fast, so I would give a try again to 2003SE or if I find an 6.1 very clean with the minimum necesary to run.
I don't think we should throw away 2003se yet

I tried to upgrade my Asus A696 to a new version but no luck (i'm not that good at this kind of stuff), so my question is if there's a way to upgrade it at least to WM 6.1, or 6.5 using a different ROM version or something like that.
I would appreciate if the following answers would be from people who tried this before.
PS: If there are links (here) where i can find steps to upgrade, i would be grateful if you point them out.

It's not a mistake. For example WM6.5 on HP iPAQ hx2000 series runs much faster then WM6.1
I would suggest You to go for WM6.5
that's my opinion, I don't like chome, honeycomb, new big menus, manila and other kind of sh%t.
But if you like it, you can use it. I don't prohibit it
any news about it? I would like to install 6.1 or 6.5 also on my a696
Was amazed to find a ASUS P527 6.5 upgrade on here the other day, being able to upgrade the A696 would be awesome as well .

Thanks for your reply, I downloaded and took a look - but I've never done anything like this before, I don't know where to begin. The fact that anything I make with this would be Polish (?) - I'm out of my league. Maybe I'll see if I can figure out the P527 where they do have a World Wide English version already and see what can be done with that.
The P527 has a bunch of ways to upgrade through USB and microSD even if the main process fails - I have no idea if there is such a method for the A696 though. If a flash fails, that could be it... and that's a little bit daunting for a first timer...

you can make image backup first.
pdocread –v 0x0 0x3600000 nk.nb0
upgrade is simply, by usbloader.
1. Disable usb connections in async
2. plug usb cable to pda
3. reset pda with center dpad button pressed.
4. USB Download mode screen will appear
5. Click "Upload ROM!" in kitchen.
can anybody please create and upload the wwe version? It's just that I don't understand Polish so the PLK is completely useless to me (and I guess others)

I too would like a WWE version of a 6.1 or 6.5 ROM for the Asus 6x6 series devices... I would be willing to do some testing as well. I would also be willing to make a donation to whomever gets a 6.5 ROM working.
