How do I disconnect the GPRS connection ?
Unlike former PPC I had, if I touch the connection it only gives me an option of "Turn on flight mode". but I don't want to close the phone, only the GPRS connection.
The only solution I found, is to press 5 seconds on the Red end-button.
Why do you need to turn it off? You are only charged if there is traffic to/ from your device you can control this by knowing which programs use the GPRS and configuring them accordingly to prevent automatic downloads of data - Mike
Tap the "Big G" box.
That will bring up "Connectivity" and you can disconnect it from there.
Thanks, It's working !
Is there a way where I can just Turn it off till I want it back on again?
I have multiple email accounts, all set to retrieve email once in 15 mins. Because of this my GPRS is always on. Sometimes when I battery is critically low, I try to turn it off, but it still comes back on in about 15 mins because my email accounts are set to retrieve every 15 mins. Is there a way that I can just TURN IT OFF till I want to enable it again?
Change your email settings to not check for new mail until you are connected to the internet.
Disconnecting GPRS
Hey Guys,
Simplest way to hang up the GPRS is to press and hold "End Call" (Red button) for a few seconds. So long as there is nothing trying to connect to the GPRS connection, it will end the call.
Works on my Orbit, and it did on my Exec as well.

Another thread about tethering...
I'm curious if anyone does it as much as I do...
Anyway here's my problem. It seems as if when I use Internet Sharing...any phone calls I get, I would miss without notification. And when I get the call, it doesn't go straight to voicemail...it will ring a few times and then voicemail will popup.
I know the nature of GPRS and Phone calls not working together at the same time...but is there a way for me to be notified of a phone call during Internet Sharing? Even if it means I would get disconnected...I'd rather not miss my phone calls.
right now i use it alot at home. what i do is set my phone to forward calls to home phone while i'm using internet sharing. But for some reason i cant use the first option under call forwarding. the other remaining options i set to a phone number and the time span to 5 seconds.
Ahh call forwarding...good idea...but is that my only option available right now?
Just had a look at my o2 account and have seen that I am about 4hrs more voice usage then i expect to be at this point in the month. I have found about 6 calls totalling about 5 hours of usage.
Now what seems to have happened is that I use Emoze as push email via gprs, but have a 2nd setting under connections for an 0845 dialup isp number as an alternative. I had the box ticked for it to auto detect. What must have happened is over night o2 must have lost the GPRS signal and as a result it then dialled the 0845 number - it does explain why the battery was flat the other morning!! Have now set it to go via gprs only and I will have to manually select the 0845 number if I need to use it.
Hope this might help someone avoid some costly calls (luckily I have plenty of minutes left)
Hi guys,
I have played intensively with my TP2 for a few days now and I must say once you find your way in this device it's great!!
However I still have a few minor questions, which I haven't find the answer to in the users manual or on this forum.
1. Is it possible to select different or custom icons for the e-mail accounts listed in a column on the right side when opening the main e-mail screen? I have 4 accounts and it would help a lot if I could instantly see which one is which...
2. Is it possible to change a setting so that sent e-mails are NOT automatically marked as unread but as read? It is just distracting when opening the e-mail account tree.
3. I am now using Lockmelite which is a great app, but I would like to have a "full screen" touch lock app. Any alternatives?
4. I have a problem when my TP2 is connected to my BT carkit (Prius). When I want to answer a call by pressing the pickup button on my steering wheel or dash screen, the ringtone suddenly plays over the car audio system, but it doesn't pick up how many times I press them. I have to pickup on the TP2. I have lockmelite set to unlock the screen on an incoming call if that makes any difference but I would really like this to work! I can't find any settings in the TP2 for this.
5. Is it possible to have the wifi auto connect to "known" networks? It now seems I have to connect manually every time I come home. I don't have to enter any authentication but I would like it to automatically connect instead.
That's it for now, thanks a lot!
Every time I leave my car, thus breaking the Bluetooth connection, the phone throws up an information message telling me that Bluetooth has disconnected. An irritating message which I then have to cancel.
Can anyone please tell me a fix or registry tweak that will switch off these messages? I use "Avance Config" but can't find anything in there to stop them.
Cheers.
start-settings - sounds and notifications - notifications on bottom and then from the drop down list, select bluetooth and uncheck display message on screen
Many thanks for the response. However, on my phone Bluetooth does not appear in that drop-down list. Only a generic "Reminders", which, as that includes calendar alarms, I need.
I installed hAndynotify and it worked a treat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563592
Perfect. Ideal. Job done!
Many thanks indeed.
Hi, sometimes, when I use a voice command the watch says only "Google is not accessible now..." (I have my language selected so the message in English can be a little bit different).
When I pull down the screen there is a scratched cloud. But the watch is connected to the phone and the phone has internet connection! Notifications are incoming but voice commands not.
May be related: voice data text to speech are downloaded often. Restart the watch doesn't help always, restart the phone helped but it could be a lucky.
Any idea?
Watch: Huawei Watch 2 Sport with SIM inserted, connection set to automatic (never seen connected)
