Spv M2000 Gsm - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

I'm looking for another Blue Angel to replace my dead PDA2K. I've looked at quite a few SPV M2000s on Ebay, but there doesn't seem to be agreement about whether they are dualband, triband or quadband GSM. Are there different versions of this phone, or is it that the people writing the descriptions don't know?
Thanks.

Differant names for XDAIIs

Hi Im a bit of a n00b, and I am looking to buy the XDAIIS off f ebay or something like that. I am aware that the o2 version of the phone is called the XDA IIs but what are the other names for it?
Also is there any difference between them?
What would you recomend going for and are there any similar phones that are better value for money?
The XDAIIs is the O2 brand name for the device made by HTC under the name Blue Angel.
Its also for sale a ie. MDAIII from T-Mobile, PDA2K from iMate, 9090 from Qtek and (if i am correct) MVP2000 from Orange.
See the Blue Angel forum pages for more specific info

Field my n00b question: XDA/MDA/SX66 differences?

Sorry for the n00b question - I couldn't find the proper search terms to answer my question.
I'm currently checkin' out the XDA IIs, MDA III, SX66, etc on eBay, and the prices vary pretty widely. You can pick up a SX66 for ~$600, but an XDA IIs is around ~$800, as is the MDA III.
My question is, how different are they? I'm in the US, so I think the SX66 is the most easily obtainable, but how restrictive/overbearing is the Cingular firmware? I'd unlock the device, of course. I'd like to use T-Mobile service (since I'm already on a family plan), so I could get the MDA III, but I'd end up paying ~$200 more for the phone itself. If I were to get the SX66 (or the XDA IIs if I could find it cheaper), could I flash in a T-Mobile firmware and/or any newer international stuff and maintain all functionality? Or is there any benefit at all to use a firmware that's associated with your provider?
I did read that the Siemens version is PH20B1, versus the PH20B of the other iterations of the device. Any problems that I may need to overcome? Also, what's the definition of a "cooked" firmware (as I see in many people's signatures)?
Thanks in advance.

XDA IIs, MDA III or M2000?

if buying a blue angel in the UK, which version is the one to shoot for?
looks aside, (O2 looks better in black) which provider offers good tech support + software support over the others?
I hear O2 getting slagged on a regular basis when it comes to component replacements for example, particularly where whistling screen faults are concerned. does t-mobile or orange win out here?
I know the O2 asis rom is supposed to be quite nice but are people finding MDA III from tmobile or M2000 orange more reliable out of the box for example. are tmobile slow at software releases, are orange, who's tend to be better?
I've decided on a blue angel over a IIi but nothing hurts to poll for a bit of opinion and see which Blue Angel has advantages over other types. I've read the wiki and while I found upgrading my XDA 1 and cooking rom's for it doable, I don't feel confident thus far at repeating the feat on the Blue angel so am looking at an off the shelf blue one for now.
can people give me a precis of their experience here that allows me to make an informed choice.
thanks
I've always found Orange to be the best provider, last time I was with them they actually have people at the other end of the telephone who want to help. They also didn't charge you for calling customer services (which I just found out T-Mobile do. Cheeky bastards).
I'd avoid O2 if possible, but I think all mobile phone operators suck, so I'd get it from whoever has the cheapest handset/plan for you.
Upgrading the ROM means all the phones are the same.

I've had XDA and XDAII from O2 and CS was OK when you actually spoke to someone who knew anything about the XDA models. Billing was an absolute nightmare though!
I've had MDAIII from T-Mobile since last October. Customer services are very helpful (and Free). CS have spent hours on the phone with me when I've been trying to sort out problems with unsupported upgrades from the internet and have even phoned me back on a landline so we could tinker with the MDAIII and talk at the same time.
The device is very stable out of the box. Only upgrade so far has included the Blackberry client which I use constantly and it only costs £10/month for 50mb of data. They have crappy GPRS tariffs though.
I've got Orange C500 and never had any problems with CS, but then I've never really had any problems with the C500.
I think Orange is the best provider, the support is excellent, plus if you look at the orange developer site you can see whats happening.
But I bought the O2 XDA IIs (for the black) and unlocked it. I now run the i-mate 1.40 ROM on it, with the O2 Plus add-on.

SPV M2000

Hey,
I recently bought an SPV M2000 phone and I am wondering if it will work with Windows Mobile 2005, Im worried because the network is attached normally to orange and as far as I know the software here is designed for O2 Phones so how will this affect my phone and will the upgrade work and allow me to use the phone normally after?
I upgraded my old XDA2 about 2 years ago but Is been broken and thrown away since then and I knew the upgrade worked then but how will this affect the Orange Branded phone?
yes you can
hi
