guys can someone help with a link for WM calendar?
after installing 2.1 touch i had an issue with the left soft key in an appointment saying reply instead of edit. ive reflashed original wm5 rom and then vanmilla and same problem - now the calendar itself is playing up with things missing like letters (no am/pm just a & p) it only shows 5 hours in the working day
im just wondering if another calendar will help

for time, there is not pm or am on call register etc etc as well, just seems a bit strange, i re-flashed, hard reset, soft reset dunno what he problem is
the stuff you said, should be able to be fixed by settings (i.e. Flashing not required). the am/pm issue, I think it is in the regional settings. And the 5 hours working one, I think can be set in.. the Calender itself.
i tried all this, no joy, as soon as i add another rom, it all changes, but still doesnt explain why it says reply in the left soft of a calendar entry???

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but from the looks of it, it is a WM6 and WM5 difference, nothing much you can do about it.

I think he's trying to say the the right softkey in the Calendar program is set to "Reply" instead of "Menu". Basically, he can't get to the menu now. Can that be fixed with the softkey program in settings? (I haven't explored this application fully, yet) But that doesn't sound right. I don't know how you would correct the way softkeys change within programs - just the home screen.
He may want to try to turn off his firewall and download it again. Then reflash just to make sure.

Thats the way wm6 works
edit is in menu\edit different to wm5.

your both right - menu is on the right soft key and edit is in there
i just thought it may be a problem with my rom or phone as the left soft key says reply and its not clickable. its not a big deal im not that fussy and love the software - setlled with touch 2.1 in the end. only reason i was panicking s i thought it maybe a bug or somehting and ruin my phone

Does anyone have the time or inclination to make a ROM without the volume control? I only ask because I've so far found no way of disabling the program.
Basically I've discovered that the standard WM dialer is more responsive and more intuitive than the Diamond one while using about 8MB less memory. The problem is, the in-call volume won't work unless the HTCVolumeControl can be disabled or removed.
I'm going to follow up this request with a noob question - how easy is it to take an existing cooked ROM and remove applications?

Cooking a ROM without Volume control is easy. Just remove the DIAMOND Volume Control from your kitchen.

This option does exist in Diamond Tweak but it doesn't work.
I've searched the forum and found a manual method that involves stopping a service called HTCVolume, however that service doesn't appear to exist in the latest ROMs. HTC must have changed something which would also explain Diamond Tweak not working.

I have just tested it, and it works. But you said 8mb ram will be free ? I don't agree on that point. :/

For me, the 8MB free came when using the standard WM dialer rather than the HTC one. It's not as pretty but it does match my altered windows colour scheme. I'd rather have a phone that works properly than one that just looks nice - which is why I'm not using TouchFlo 3D either.
I would guess I'm getting an additional 1 or 2 MB with the volume control also gone.

Oh, I can see that now .. Anyway, that's why I have customized mine, as hell ..
On a fresh boot I get 42%, with orginal touchflo 3d. But anyway, glad I could help you

Strange, it's overwrite the existing files in the windows dic. I will try working some thing out..

Just remembered, I also ran a cleanup with SKTools, I suppose it is possible that caused it to revert. I'll have a play and see if I can recreate.

thanks! this has been driving me nuts! and nearly all the roms have htc volume built in for whatever reason
flashed my phone about 8 times in the last hour trying to find one without it built in and all my apps working

Seems the DLL?? messes up the font of the USB PopUp and SIP Selection screen Will try to cook a ROM without the VolumeControl to see if you can disable it without causing trouble to the fonts on the device..
I'm already using a ROM without the HTC Volume Control, Panosha Simple 1.1, so I don't need this cab anymore. It was invaluable before I switched ROMs!
I can confirm that the SIP selection text is already broken, without installing this cab. HTC must have relied on their dialer dll for the fonts on these other menu screens.

maybe its time for me to try that rom!
overnight the htc volume reappeared...although was all blank, reinstalling the cab fixed it, still wierd tho

Not had that problem, except for the one time mentioned above which was caused by SKTools.
It's a very plain ROM - no Manila, Opera or even MMS! However, it suited my needs and I was able to track down all of the cabs I needed eventually.
I would like to know if there is a registry or app that turns off the keyboard backlight.
The idea is save battery life during the day or while reading a big text. I already use the Lowlight to reduce the light intensity but the keyb light many times is useless.
I already teste some regs mentioned for others phones but didn't work in the nrg rose (QKeybTimeout and QKeyb another thing...).
I noticed that the keyb light turns off while browsing a big email in the native wm mail. I think it's possible to find a reg monitoring this function, but i don't know about any wm 6.1 reg monitor like ceregspy for ppc.

I'm surprised that nobody knows how to this while people did complex roms compilations like kavana and nrg rose.
I turn off keyboard backlight :
I replace backlight.dll from HTC Vox to \Windows dir, and keyboard backlight after reboot is off, but not working LightConfig, and if device is go to sleep then screen is white :-(((((
(i dont have backlight.dll from another smartphones, if you have it, please .... any ideas?

EDIT well stylez your right, ookba's 6.5 doesn't even have it. so adding it in won't do any good either. it worked on my bj1 that's running starca's 6.1. but obviously a different phone and such.

It's worth a try to create the reg, just been searchin and seems a common question on many phones that no one answers
haha well i have nothing going on at the moment, so i'll make a small effort to figure it out. no promises though people.
EDIT well after some searching i would like to think i've narrowed it down to the HTCUtil.dll and/or the keybddr.dll that controls how long the keypad lights are on. but i have no way of telling for sure, just a guess.
So anybody? make a cab that has a simple icon like light config, lets make it so all power on keyboard is off during the day.

Ahh lol no doubt i know this is kinda an old question so shes dead too bad, lights out for during the day would been nice, my battery in my S621 on wi-fi all day gives me 10 hours 11am-9pm i bet battery life would last like insane if we could disable the lights on keys.

I love the power of the backlight on my Touch HD, and i can change the brightness of the screen in the settings. But im trying to find if someone has created software that only changes the brightness in a quick program mode. it would be handy when im driving to just turn down the brightness so it does not put me off because going through the setting could be a little dangerous
if anyone knows of where i can get this software it would be handy.

There is auto back light function of the WM depending of the ambient light condition. It is not clear from your explanation what exactly you would like to do with the brightness.
I don't know what it's called, but in the EnergyRom there is an "app" that allows you to control the backlight intensity, skinned din a very similar way to volume in the htc. I think that's what you're looking for.

But with autobacklight adjust the device will consume more power, that will cause to fast battery discharge. This guy wants simple soft that is "press and control" .

ive found a video on SBP 3.0 and it's uses but i cant find one for 3.5, does it have the function that im looking for?

hi man,i used the SPB mobile shell 3.5 for some months.
i thonk is a great user interface,fingerfriendly,very customizable.
and have a widget that make you able to change the backlight when and how you prefer,with just one clik.

wow.... it really did change about my phone lol i wasn't really expecting that. i didn't realise that it was the whole layout format. i like it though. is it easy to remove, i asume i just un-install it?? i only ask just incase i have to send the phone back under warrenty (since this is my fourth HTC Touch HD since January 2009!!). any tips or hits at where to start with the software??? although i found the backlight function, but i have yet to get it to work. i can get the widget onto the main screen (though you can see it?!?!?) when i click the space where it should be it brings up 5 settings for the backlight, but if i click one of them, nothing happens.

You may just uninstall it. However it is not needed while sending under warranty because it is legal software which modifies no HTC/system things.
BTW: Anyone knows how to change lower backlight limit for autobacklight? I found backlight is still to bright at night.

You did right with widget, and I think you should registr the product, will write serails below, try one of them. (but i think the serial should be with the pack)

im new to this device, have it for 2 day, allready managed to flash it 7 times, and reinstall all the stuff... still im missing some stuff which i cound not find using search here for like 10 hours... so if anyone can help, i would be more then happy..
im using [ROM][WWE][05-FEB-09] kalhimeo Super Lite ROM WM 6.5 | NO-MANILA, since i dont like everything that comes with the official rom, and its fast as hell.
- im missing the BLUE led diode for the BT blinking... is there a reg hack for this or a cab to install ???
- cannot find a checkbox for WAKE UP PHONE WITH ANY BUTTON... i dont want to look for the power button every time i want to see the clock on the s2u2 screen, is there a reg hack for this on wm6.5 ? in older ppcs there was a checkbox in the keyboard settings i think so you could turn the phone from sleeping with green or red button.
- where to get the new dialer cab (htc dialer probably?) i only find themes for it, since the rom does not have it (it has the old stnardard one). What i found and installed it just totaly messed up my dialer, now i have to use the hack "no theme" so i can see the buttons, other cabs just destroy the dialer.
- also im missing the comm manager if there is a cab install ?
