Can anyone direct me to a site to download a VPN client that works on the Dash? I am unable to find a VPN client that will install on the smartphone version of Windows Mobile 5.0. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

i believe hes talking about VPN, not VNC.
there was a thread on here about someone getting the openvpn client to work...i tried and never was able to get the tap driver loaded right...and no one responded to my thread...so i kinda just gave up =)

Very awesome guys, ive tried it and works 100%...
Only problem is that it interfears with the Text messages. It doesn't allow them to send every now and again.. It's not happening anymore though..

It still makes you wonder why another beta has been released after black 2.0
The registry in Black 2.0 still points to a beta URL for server token so my guess would be that Live in any current OS would get updated via Windows Update at proper launch but Live in Black does seem pretty final.

both url's are still in beta ... i had this confirmed by a mate.... but the Live apps and dll's in LSVW's lastest ROM and Black 2.0 are RTM (Release to Manufactor)

used GPRS and USB cable connection.. i can browse, live mail folders are syncd,
removed the check from sync options for contacts and messenger and tried getting online.. but its still a no go.. zero contacts on my list... but if i tried to add a contact it says that the contact is already on my list.

I love Helmi's ROMs and have the AKU3.5 ROM but would really like to have Smartdial and Internet Sharing working again so could someone post a link to Helmi's AKU3.3 v1.2 rom again? Hey thanks man. I had no idea what emule was... and this is really what I needed. But i have O2 XDA Exec (HTC Universal)... And this ROM looks like its for QTEK. I know they're both Universals... so I guess there won't be any problems right?

One problem I have, in fact, is that when I press the end call button to minimise an application it instead disconnects GPRS. Has anyone else had this problem and do they know of a solution? Thanks.
How about you use the OK button to minimize instead.
Or hit the winkey then hit Today.
Good ideas, DaVince. Unfortunately I have WisBar Lite, which changes the operation of the X, hence I use the end call button.
I seem to have fixed it though. I fiddled with the Always Connected registry setting (using RegistryWizard, which I'm sure wasn't the best idea!) and now it seems to do the proper job.

I'm thinking about moving to one of the WM6 ROMs, but I've got a query about syncing.....
Do I REALLY need to upgrade ActiveSync 4.5 to get it to sync with XP? My problem is that I need to sync with my work laptop which is only running ActiveSync 4.2.

you realize it takes less than 5 minutes to upgrade your ActiveSync version, right? or are you in an environment where you can't make changes to a work notebook?
And are you really going to sync to two PC's or you just want to use your home PC to do the upgrade? And btw, 4.5 works better than 4.2 with WM6 (at least in my experiences), but of course, YMMV...

It's the latter, I can't make any changes to the software on the work machine.
I'm in the same boat - not allowed to upgrade the software on my work machines...

I'd be using my home PC to do the flashing of the PDA. I will then sync the device with both my home and my work laptops.

Good point! 4.2 will not talk to WM6...
For me your scenario wouldn't be a bother as I don't sync to my computer but to my Exchange server. (and I don't use Notes so everything sync's OK)

As an IT person, that aspect wouldn't bother me (especially since I'm using one myself).
Within my office network, there are no shared apps installed on the local machines - everything is run through a virtual server. Exchange is configured with Push capability (I'm not using this though, using another one for personal contacts/emails/calendar). We also have internal wifi capability, so by setting up a shared folder on a local machine, one is able to transfer files back and forth without having to run AS.
ActiveSync Portable
U can try to use this non-installable version on an USB stick (just an .exe)
Just Google it and you'll find more.
I haven't used myself but u can give it a shot.

Also, if anybody know how to do with ther Browsers (like Netfront), please let me know. The only way I know with Netfront, but creating a "Vodafone" connection, and it's quite annoying. Also, Netfront is expensive browser!

The only way I have been able to fix this error is hard reset and reinstall the softbank connection with no proxy. Just reinstalling the softbank connection will not work with out the hard reset.[/I]

look for "CMInternetSharing.exe" in windows folder....
or settings/Connections..there should be an icon Wifi IS
