how do it change the default sms tones to wma or wav. xdaiis

can i change sms tone to wav or wma.. like pop song??? and the default sms tone is so short i can't hear any thing....
Copy the .wav file u want to be the SMS ringtone to Windows directory inside ur O2 XDA IIs
copy the wanted .wav file into the windows folder, and then go into your notifications option and your wanted .wave file will be in the drop down for you to select 8)
you could also convert and edit mp3 songs to wave and use it as your alert tone. Further, you could search for a thread "Mort Ring" on this forum, it's very useful in assigning tones per contacts.
cheers!

Ringo

My Ringo won't work with Black 2.5 and I've go Profiles for Window Mobile 2.2.0
a little help pls
I was about to post the same. Here Ringo didn't work with the Black 2.5. In the "groups", just vibrate the phone, in the default, when the contact are out of the list, they rings with the windows default song.
Rickyjune, the Profiles for Windows Mobile 2.2.0 have groups for ringing tones? I didn't find it.
Any other program, that works on the WM6, for different rings and sms tones, to different categories?

Gerald_s, thanks, but i'm looking for something smaller. Something pratical. PCP is to heavy to do a little like play songs to some people. BUT, if have no other way...
What's really nice about WM6 is that most of the function of Ringo is in the OS. I no longer use Ringo for that reason (well, it also crashed a lot).
I don't know if you can set ringers by category (I'd imagine so, but haven't looked into it yet), but you can assign them to people. Just edit a contact, and down towards the bottom is a field for Ringtone.

Mcrochip, thanks. I look at that, but when you have a lot of contacts, assign a ringtone one-to-one is hard... But, its native, i'll look MORE on that function.
thats true... but you cannot select SMS ringtone or Call ringtone... only one ringtone for each contact... not very customizable..
SMS tones
I still cannot a small software just to assign sms tomes beside Photo contacts pro. Anyone can help..Thanks

play mp3 for sms or mms notification

Hello is there a reg key to modify that will allow to play sms/mms notification with diff type like mp3 etc..
Thanks,
I found a way around this was to use Audacity (free software) to convert the MP3 into WAV format and save them in \Windows on your device. They then appear as options in the Sounds & Notifications settings panel.

default sounds folder

hey guys can someone point me in the right direction as far where the default windows sounds are. i want to use custom tones for the email and text notifications.... thanks a lot
\My Documents\My rings
There are several locations, including Windows folder itself, but some will work as phone call ringtones only and not for events and notifications.
If you download sound packs from Microsoft, they are installed into this folder:
My Device > Application data > Sounds
so I recommend you also place your WAV/MP3/WMA media files there.

How do I set a ringtone?

How can I set my a custom ringtone on my DVP I updated it and don't seem to know how
cant post a link but here:

Create an MP3 less than 1MB, 40 secs or less and set the Genre to Ringtone (you can edit the genre in Zune if you need to). I created a Playlist in Zune called Ringtones and add them all to that playlist. Then finally sync the playlist to your phone. In mango, they will appear in a custom group above the stock ones, when selecting either the general ringtone, or one specific for a contact.
