I have a V1640 (HTC UNIVERSAL 3G SFR France )
I followed all instructions to sim unlock the mobile phone and everything is OK
(radio 0.00.00 = ok and unlock v.1 = SUCCESSFULL)
but I still can't use another sim card ( ORANGE France )
when I enter the pin code I see SIM LOCK
enter SIM UNLOCK CODE!
do someone have an idea?

V1640 is not HTC Universal, but HTC Hermes, you have tried to use the HTC Universal unlocker and have wrote a bad radio on the phone. Some people here say you won't be able to recover the previuos ROM so your phone may be unuseful al this moment
v1640 = qtek 9000 = HTC Universal
I still can use my mobile phone.....luckily!
my radio version has changed to 0. 00 .00
but I can't use another sim card.....

I have an XDAII and am with O2 and wish to change to Orange.
I was going to buy an XDAIIs from Orange but reading about the problems I think I will stick with what I have.
Having read most of the posts, version numbers are spinning around in my head and I am thoroughly confused !
I have:
ROM version 1.60.00WWE
ROM date 12/03/03
Radio Version 1.10.00
Protocol Version 1337.18
ExtROM version 1.60.50
Will the latest unlock program work ok for me ?
Would it be better if I updated to the latest ROM first ?
Can I continue to used my O2 SIM card once I have unlocked whilst I wait for my Orange SIM card to turn up ?
Are there any issues with using the XDAII with Orange ? Does anything which worked with O2 suddenly not work anymore with Orange ?
Can I use a Pay-as-you-Go SIM card with my XDAII and (providing I have GPRS bolt on etc) does everything still work the same ?

If you are thinking of upgrading your ROM, why not just reflash it with Orange configurations and save messing about! Just check the country code before you flash and all should work perfectly. If you are in the UK, there is a customised version of the Ext ROM for 2003SE here:

i think you should go for a normal unlock procedure and after the procedure is complete your pda is unlocked and everything remains the same only change is that you can use any sim other that o2 after unlock.

Hello,
This is an old smartphone, and the unlock simunlock is possible.
3 differents ways have been developed to simunlok the e200 :
- one software called "unlock.exe" which give the unlock code
- one software called "unlockc.exe" which modify the Rom directly in the smartphone
- a patch wich modify the .NBF before the upgrade of the e200.
I do not have the soft at my office but I can send it.

Is there a list somewhere where is explained wich operator has wich model/Rom for the qtek9000 ?
Is it so that every operator has it's own (locked) ROM version ?
In my believe the list is like this. Please provide the things I forget.
1. Qtek 9000 = Universal = UNI ROM ? (not locked)
2. Imate = JasJar = JasJar ROM (I-mate locked)
3. T-Mobile = MDA Pro = T-mobile ROM (T-mobile locked)
4. O2 = XDA-exec = O2 launchROM (O2 Locked) Not for sale in Holland ?
5. Orange = SPV M5000 (Orange locked) Not for sale in Holland.

first of all i am sorry for the english wich a typ that isnt so good at all

i have a mda vario htc wizard qtek9100 wich i bought in the netherlands but i am now on vacantion and i want to use it also in turkey but the network in turkey doesnt accept imei number of phones from other lands..
so i decided to change my imei number i used the program hard_spl to unlock my cid cause i have a g4 rom ... my rom info is:
