Hi - I recently bought a van for our business which fortunately was preinstalled with a cradle, micropohone and TomTom GPS receiver. Unfortunately I have no idea which unit is designed to fit the cradle and was hoping someone might recognise it. I attach a couple of pics and would be grateful if you could send a quick reply.....would make life for our driver much easier !!
Many thanks - Pierda
Well the dash mount it is very hard to tell. Almost looks like it could be for a smart phone. Could you please send the dimensions of the hollowed out part where the device goes?

I know that this is not a selling forum, but I've had a lot of help over quite a long time from this site so would like to help out fellow members if I can. If this is not acceptable to the moderators I'm sorry, but here goes:
I've got an XDA2 that has been dropped. The screen is fine, but it's permanently locked into "Calendar" mode and cycles through all the calendar views and options. In all other ways it is in very good condition. It receives and makes calls, and all the functions are available, but I can't always turn it off. It's boxed and complete with cradle, charger, earphones, case, software, manuals, etc., and I'm sure that someone with a bit more time than me could make use of it. It's not stolen, or from any other dubious source - I've upgraded and just don't have the time at the moment - I wish I did, but that's the way it goes.
hi mate
how much would you like for your faulty xda unit?
cheers
chris
xda2 for sale
do you still have the xda2 for sale? if so how much do you want for it?
thank you
chris
I'm sorry but it was sold before Christmas. You might try "Wanted" on eBay.
I also have an XDA 2 for sale.it's in fully working order apart from the charge / sync connecter has come out.I still have the connecter maybe a bit of soldering could fix it?If not I have a link to a company that do repairs a lot cheaper than the xda service centre.Any offers?

I hate to say it, but that cradle is horrible... it looks like it forces you into landscape mode and you lose the keyboard. I like this one from expansys much better...

You´re right, but I think it is a cradle (passive/active holder), not a dockingstation similar to one for a notebook.
The station from expansys is useful for everyone who uses his Universal for a longer time on one place and don´t wants to lose some Li-Ion capacity.
At least I´m prefering original accessories

where are these products eventually going to show up?
I'm assuming your contact has the inside line on them and will know this?
I am looking for an external GSM antenna with cable and connector for my jasjar. Any ideas??
Regards
@numanoids: We can not really say when these products will be available; the blisters are still in the developement.
As far as we get them from Qtek for packing them I´ll post a message here.
On www.qtek.nu you may see some accesories, but these new products are not there yet; it depends on their admins how long it whiles until they show them on their site.
regards
Finally!!! A battery charger!!!!
Any news on the availability or pics yet??
What the heck is the use of that stupid cradle on the expansys link posted above? The jasjar can do everything the same without the cradle too!!! Why would someone purchase it and for what?!?!?!

because of my setup (computer under the table) the cable keeps on falling behind the desk when it is not connected to the Universal so something like a cradle to keep the cable in place why i would need some. I know it isn't the only solution, but it definitely is a pretty one
Meh. Still not worth it.
UD.
Sorry guys, no pics available yet; you may find a new reply when I got them..

i've got the cradle.
its plastik with no features, but its a cradle
it does what is says. plug it in and it works, looks crapy but protects your cam.
no complaints
HTC098337- Battery Charger for std. Battery
I hope this is not the cradle?? Should be an independent battery charger?
PICTURES
Hi Guys,
here are the pictures of the extended battery.. unfortunately the qtek people made it in qtek9000 colour - its black... :?

Hope for ya´ll that it will while not that long until that item is available )
@airbag 14: That charger is an single charger without any further functionality; I´ve already seen that item, but has no possibility to make pics of it...

Hi All
Having read through the various threads I still don't have a clear idea of what SatNav options there are for the XDA Exec and which people have been satisfied with.
I drive in the UK and I'm looking for the navigation software, windscreen mounted car cradle, Blue Tooth aerial and car charger. I would be grateful for any recommendations anyone has.
I used to use TomTom3 with my XDA2 and I can't say I was that pleased with it. Is 5.2 any better? Are there any real alternatives? Is there a particularly easy/cheep place to buy it? Am I better buying a package that includes everything or should I buy separates?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
hi i am looking for good mount solution for my universal..i have read some thread reagrding this topic but stil havent made up my mind. and i also found this http://www.pdahut.com/store/product.php?productid=17600&cat=0&page=1 is anybady using this ?? can we have some feedback ?? cheers, cudo
I'm using it, and although I think it does its job, I think it is way too expensive for what it is.
My two main issues with it would be:
- how inconvenient it is to remove the Universal from the craddle once it's in: you have to bend the craddle quite a bit on one corner to get one side out, then do that again on another corner...
- how leather-case unfriendly it is: I have to remove my Universal from its carrying case whenever I want to put it in the craddle. Not a biggie, but still...
On a side note, a cool thing would have been to combine a hard-case shell, with a belt-clip, with the craddle, since it so thightly fits the Universal...
HTH
25 pounds ?? it is not that expensive in comparison to brodit ? and which one is better i dont know..and i am trying to make up my mind cos i got universal tom tom and gpslim..the only think missing is mount..and i dont know which one i shell choose . help with that issue, please !
Well, I know that one I bought for my better half cost me less than half the price, found it in a hypermarket, and next time I see it, I'll buy it to replace that specificaly designed one.
Conidering what I said in my previous post, I prefer a well designed, generic car mount rather than a Universal-specific one.
so would u recomand it or not ? is this really difficult to get it out from the cardle once it is in ?
cheers
It's not difficult per se, but at this price, it shouldn't be a pain, and it *is* a pain. I don't like the flimsy feel of the craddle, nor the fact that I can't hold my Universal securely enough when I take it out, and I hate the feeling that I could drop it if I were not careful. If you add the fact that it is not leather-case / silicone-skins / etc. compliant, I couldn't advise it.
IMHO, a 15 € generic craddle (with a pincher-type attachement) + a 15 € car adapter is a far superior, more versatile solution.
can u give a link to the cardle you are talking about.
cheers, cudo
There are tons of generic mounts at our super/hypermarkets around here, so I don't have a *specific* mount in mind.
But they all ressemble stuff like these:

or

or

(available to cmonex' today's "spur of the moment" webshop, AddonsWorld - http://www.addonsworld.co.uk/product.php/26839/3341/ ;-) ).

hi, i got one of this pda hut mount today, already fit it in my car..looks great..and taking it in and out the mount isnt that bad. i will give some more feedback and some pics soon
cheers, cudo
Hey guys,
Another issue that I have is that I bought the official in-car cradle and the phone doesn't fit perfectly in the sense that there is slight movement in the phone whilst in the cradle and I find it annoying.
Before I return it I just wanted to ask you guys if you have one, have you discovered the same thing, and if so how did you get around it?
As always, thanks in advance.
