Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but have had my Orange SPV-M2000 for about twleve months now with few issues. However, the phone has now started acting strange. If it rings and the device is in the cradle, as soon as I pick it up it cuts off! This also seems to take place when then phone is not in the cradle, but not to the same extent. IN addtion, occationally when someone rings they can hear me but I cannot get the speaker to work and have to soft re-boot.
Can any one help me here. I'm running: -
Operator version 5.31.1.124
ROM Version: 1.31.00 WWE
Radio Version: 1.06.02

From time to time, if I dial out or receiving calls, the phone act as though the call is coming thru and the timer starts ticking, but I do not hear any sound at all thru the earphone. This is both the incoming or outgoing calls, the only way to fix it is to do a soft reset and it's annoying... Since it's random, I have no idea if it's a software I installed that's doing this or not. Anyone ever run into this problem?

Dear Mamaich:
I have just changed my XDAII to XDAIIs. I know you are expert on this so I have some questions and will be appreciated if you can give me some answer.
1. I used Tweak 2.41, Pocket Hack Master 3.05 and SPB Pocket Plus 2.2 (these are suppose to be enhancement tools) on my XDAIIs. These two tools slower down my machine and made it become unstable (for a few times - but embarassed you as it hanged when I was using my machine in front of my friends). When I unstalled these tools, my machine work really well (fast enough and stable - never hang actually, but sometimes when I run some applications, the screen comes out slowly (but at least stable - I think this is the OS problem.) Also, without using these tools, the rotation sceen runs fast.
2. I understand XDAIIs is a 4x brand GSM radio, will it be different if I change it by other rom version? (this is a software or hardware matter?)
My XDAIIs version is :
ROM: 1.31.00 WWE
ROM Date: 31 Dec 2004
Radio Version: 1.02.00
Protocol Version: 1.337.32
ExROM version 1.31.920 WWE
I am actually not intending to change the ROM and Radio as I am using it fine unless there is another one which is much better. For ExROM, I just changed the CallerID 1.2 so that I can assign ringtone and photo for contact rather than just photo.
Thank you in advance
I have same problem as well. Pocket Plus is installed.
ROM: 1.31.00 WWE

Same problem.
French last rom.
Spb PocketPlus too.
I will hard reset and no install spb pocket. I will see. And tell you. It's happening twice a day. it will easy to see if pocket plus is the reason of this issue.
Do you use bluetooth at all before you get no sound?
sometimes but it happens with bluetooth or without bluetooth.
Same problem here, it happens quite a lot randomly. It really bugs cuz you have to reset it once or twice a day.
ROM 1.12.62WWE

I, too, have SPB Pocket plus installed.
 I have the same problem too. I just got my lls last week. Then the no sound issue comes up. I call the customer center and they told me to do a hard reset. I did, problems still occured.
before, my phone sound like crap as i was using radio 1.02.00 after i change to 1.08.00. the other party here me much better. But still, the no sound problem still there.
I hear so many ppl have this problem. It starts to worry me that is not just my unit but is the design of the machine.
so.. i'll try to send it back to the service center and see what they can do for me..

pls. help..
Derek
so was pocket plus the cause? .. :?:
happens to me too. :?
I get the same thing and this is after a hard reset and no O2 active installed. I have this problem all the time and have to soft reset to correct it.
Very random, very annoying, any ideas?
Got the same problem. Sometimes incoming or outgoing calls are totally silent...can't hear a thing although the call is progressing. have to do a soft reset. very annoying for such an expensive PDA phone. Got my XDAIIs from Malaysia.
try fonix voice central
You can try the fonix voice central it works great for me......
I have the same problem with my OS XDA IIs as well, random times the phone sound simply stops working, timer is going, call appears connected, only solution is a soft reset.
Dave
You don't need to softreset your phone. You can just turn flight mode on and off.
Currently I have 1.33.51 (my cooked) ROM, 1.10 radio, BT build 3900 and several fixes installed and have not noticed such problem for a long time. Last time I had such problem I was running 1.31 ROM, 1.06 radio and old 3500 BT stack. Maybe BT 3900 or some other update fixed that.
I don't know for which purpose is developed BA (mine is QTEK 9090).
I've bought it because I need a phone and at same time also a little computer to download messages from my business mail.
At this moment the situation is this:
Telephone:
totally randomly, when I answered to a call I can't hear nothing. I need to soft reset to reactivate audio for calling in or out.
Active Sync:
I've scheduled to check my mail every half an hour. After the first call (either by gprs or by cellular line) i receive an error from the connection manager (connmgr_33 error) and I need to soft reset or restart radio to make a new synchronization.
So I spent the most of my time to soft reset the phone. BHA! :? :?
I've installed the last ROM available
ROM: 1.40.04 ITA
RADIO: 1.12.00
ExtRom: 1.40.153 ITA
Protocol: 1337.42
I ve NOTHING ELSE installed on.
Could someone help me , please?
Thanks in advance
Diego
(I'm sorry for my English)
If you wanted something you could actually use you should have read this forum before buying. I sure wish I had. This wasn't a very constructive answer... but its not a very constructive handset
I'd have to agree. Since reading this form as part of my research into buying a decive I've decided to hold off for a while until either these bugs are fixed in a new ROM or until a newer and better working device becomes available.
well i'ts a viscious cycle really. you wait for a rom update to fix known bugs, only to find out it introduces another set of new bugs.
you'll never really know when is the right time to purchase a device. the pace for newer devices are too fast.
I would only know if the problems I've explained are common problems or only for my phone.
Thanks
Diego
I think that I've resolved the problem.
I've downgraded to old ROM:
ROM: 1.22.04 ITA
RADIO: 1.06.02
Protocol: 1337.38
Thanks

hi
well I used the same headset with my N6600 it would give me a proper range of 5-7 meters but with the O2 xdaIIs I cant take it away more than a meter above all my BT build is 3900 and I get a crackling sound when I try to connect and talk ,after several attempts to Re-pairing have done no good
hope some one faceing same problem can help !!
@PawelCH
First of all you really need to upgrade your device and get the fixes that come with it, and the new problems.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blueangel look at the "How to upgrade to......."
hello..
i am still suffering from the unidirectional sound problem i.e. sometimes someone calls me, they can hear me but i cant hear them. I prevoiusly had Radio 1.13 with BT 3900 and 1.31 ROM on my spv m2000. I applied the patch:
(ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Blueangel/PDA2k_UniDirectional_Patch.sa.cab)
but the problem did not go away....i then reverted back to default config (Hard reset my phone - see below for my config). I applied the patch again but the problem still hasnt gone away! darn!!
can someone help?!
Thx
Kadabra

I too am having this problem, I have the SPV M2000 - nothing has been upgraded or changed. I need it for my work, and this bug is driving me crazy. People phone me and I can't hear them, I have applied the patch with no success at all. I don't want to delete the bluetooth startup file, as I also use it in the car. Can anyone shed any further light on this. There must be a solution out there.
Appreciate all help
Cheers

Hi there
I have just bought a "new" SPV M5000 - I say new as the box was still sealed but not sure how long it was on the shelf! Anyway I am having a few problems with it, such as not working with ActiveSync, appalling battery life etc...
Anyway, this is on Orange and has the following device info:
Operator version 7.113.1.130
ROM version: 1.13.49 WWE
ROM date: 09/20/05
Radio version: 1.03.00
Protocol version: 42.36.P8
ExtROM version: 1.13.130 WWE
I am pretty sure this is all out of date, but what is the best route for upgrading it all? I have seen some posts on here that discusses upgrading just the radio, or even replacing the ROM completely with QTEC..? I am not too fussed about keeping the Orange branding - just want a reliable ersion that will work with ActiveSync! Any comments/suggestions will be very welcome!!!
Cheers
Sean
Sorry to say but you have the latest from Orange. It's the same as mine.
I had no problem with ActiveSync before, but I've since done a reinstall on my PC and now ActiveSync wont work with USB connection with my firewall active (zonealarm)and have to shut it down for it to work. It still will sync using Bluetooth. I checked all my firewall settings and couldn't find a problem. Conclusion win xp the best(not)!! Try reinstalling your PC operating system and good luck
If you've got a firewall then change the access rights to allow active sync. This worked for me. As for battery, make sure Blue Tooth is off and keep the device charging when not in use. I keep mine charging from the USB at all times. I believe battery life is poor if you are in a poor service area where your device constantly searches for a signal. There's always an answer in the forums - keep searching.
