I made a reinforcement on the middle of the headband
use a little piece of plastic (the one used on memory card case should be OK)
cut a little piece 8x50mm
scotch tape
nylon reinforced mailing tape (19mm or 3/4")
yellow glue, or Krazy glue if you don't have
if you have yellow glue, apply a bit evenly on both, wait till the glue almost dry, then put them together, use a clip to hold for overnight
if you use Krazy glue, use scotch tape to hold the plastic piece, apply the glue slowly along the edge till you see the gap is filled, use a clip to hold them for overnight
once the glue got dried, use nylon tape to wrap the headband (from 5mm or 2" from the center), wrap it nice and neat, and tight
hope this reinforcement can slow down the crack development

Man does the stylus retention method on BA suck! How many stylii have you lost?.... I just came up with a decent fix for this. It is not so pretty but works very great. I was going to follow the advice I read about to just place a small drop of silicone under the plastic retaining clip to reinforce and make it stiffer. Unfortunately, my plastic retaining clip broke off entirely. I just cut a rectangular block of rubber from a thick rubber washer I had laying around. Then I bonded it to the metal case with heavy duty double sided clear tape. It does not get bonded to the black plastic shell where the stylus actually fits into but on the other half of the separated unit. I also cut a small wedge shape in the top that kinds of "snaps" into the groove in the stylus. The only thing you have to be careful about it the height of your rubber block - it has to be fairly precise and will probably require a bit of trial and error.
Looks like a good fix to a common problem.

Excellent.
does Blue Angel doesn't have a magnet in the slot to keep the stylus? because XDA IIi really has it...hhmmmmhhh...
I've just removed my screen protector and phone cover and there's a bunch of crud around the edges of the screen. I'm afraid to slide anything under the frame for fear of damagning something. How are you all cleaning yours?
cotton buds
I use cotten buds and Razzle Dazzle spray used to clean your specs, glasses
does a great job
comes up like new
hope that helps
i just cleaned mine when i had it apart put a new screen protector on afterwards
I use the thin plastic toothpicks that have a 45 degree on one side. They're bendable and flex with slightest resistance. Great for cleaning between screen and case. There is a pretty big gap between the screen and faceplate so alot of debris can get trapped in there. As long as the spongy black insulation foam is in good shape I dont see putting anything in edges to be a harmful to it.
So I'm a cheap guy and decided to make my own tablet sleeve. I forgot to take photos while I was making it but here are some photos of the aftermath.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Get 2: Craft Foam Sheets, about 1/8in thick (8.5in x 11in)
2 Fabric Squares, Walmart has $1 fabric squares that are just the right size
Some thread
Pencil
Ruler
Sewing Machine
STEPS:
1. Cut both the craft foam sheets to the size of your tablet (the glass side)
1.1 Iron the fabric if you want
2. Fold the fabric in half nice sides together
3. The foam is going to be placed on the folded fabric
Place the long side of the foam next to the crease in the fabric
At this point, use the ruler to trace around the 3 sides of the foam at a distance of about 1/2 inch. So that you have an outline of the foam that is larger on 3 sides by 1/2 inch.
4. Do the same to the other fabric
5. Keep the fabric folded and cut out the outline (when done you should have a piece of fabric that is like 2 tablets next to each other.
6. Do this to the other piece of fabric
7. Now fold one of the fabric pieces in half so that the not nice side is together
8. Put one of the foam pieces in-between the fabric and in the middle
9. Do this to the other one too
10. Sew REALLY close to the foam but not on the foam for both pieces
11. Sew both parts together on the three sides with the extra fabric about 1/8in away from the foam
12. Cut any excess fabric off
13. fold inside-out
14. If you understood my really awful directions you should have a decent tablet sleeve!
Here's some pics

Just wanna share my homemade case

Good afternoon.
Finding accessories for this phone is really a PITA. However I 've found a trick for the car holder.
Before this phone I had a samsung galaxy note 2 with a car holder designed for it.
I've discovered that the axon 7 with the original case fits in in this car holder. It's somewhat smaller, but the phone is firmly held, and has never fallen since 3 months.
bonus: the side buttons are free, and accessible.
Put your phone in a sandwich bag and surround the edges with tape. Cut a piece of soft copper sheet metal so that it exactly covers the face of the phone and slightly wraps over the top. Tape it down tightly. Draw big arrows on the copper pointing to the buttons or mark their location on a template. Put that in another sandwich bag. Mix up some epoxy and get fiberglass tape ready. Fold 2-4 layers of fiberglass over the bottom of the phone so it goes half way up the back and about 1 inch up the front (this is the mount reinforcement). Wrap 4-5 fiberglass layers horizontally around the phone and stay below the buttons. Wrap 2-3 layers of fiberglass vertically. Let it cure somewhere warm. Vacuum seal it if it's getting loose. Get a bright light and a small motorized grinding wheel. Roughly cut the fiberglass off the front of the phone, leaving some wrapping around. The copper should be easy to spot when the grinder has passed through the fiberglass. Pull that patch off and discard it. Trim the top band until you can bend it down enough to clear the phone. Pull the outer sandwich bag off. Pull the copper plate off. Pull the phone out. Finish trimming the fiberglass until it looks good. Cut a hole for the USB port. Glue your creation to a base with epoxy putty. Cover it with epoxy paint. Add felt pads or slippery tape to tighten the fit and protect your screen. Tada! Custom holder that will never drop your phone.
Earlier model that I made for an X Pure (another phone with no mounts):

Received my Spigen Hybrid case today. Hated it at first, but after some modifications I think it's a keeper.
My issue with the case was twofold:
1. It wouldn't stay on securely, even with the adhesive tabs Spigen put here and there around the inner frames.
2. The lefthand plastic border on front screen moves around, as it is not attached in any manner.
So, I got creative...
I used some clear window insulator tape (Scotch brand) and cut it in strips to add along the inner frame of both front and back of case. Also added one long strip to the front case left edge to keep it from moving around.
It's nice and snug now. You can notice the tape underneath the front frame border...I think I may try putting my dbrand skin over it, or perhaps I'll finagle something else along those lines so it can't be seen. (updated: yes vinyl worked to hide it)
The case is pretty light, definitely durable. Makes the phone chunkier for sure. I can live with it though.
**I also received my CaseMate (the T-Mobile one) today. Hated it. First of all, that rubber hinge cover drove me nuts! All floppy and bunched up while Fold is open. The screen protector on front case had paint overlap from the bezel that I needed to literally scrape off. I did MacGyver that one too...cut the hinge cover right the eff off. It's mediocre at best regardless.
***Added Pics of modified CaseMate Case - removed hinge cover, removed cheapo included screen protector, added same adhesive tape to make it snug and secure. I may actually prefer the feel of this case over the Spigen Hybrid!
****OK, added some vinyl to the Spigen. It covers up the tape perfectly...also covered the metal plate on back that I use for magnetic mounts at home and in car.
