I recently purchased a blue angel and the battery only lasts 4 hours on standby mode. I purchased a new battery from ebay and the new battery has the same problem. I do not have the BT running or the locator. Is it possible that this problem is the actual phone itself and not the battery?

Does your BA have symptoms lik mine:
It charges itself normaly, to the green light on the right.
After I disconnet it from the charger green lights still, not blinking (as it was before).
After 10-15 minutes it lights orange (like during charge).
In Power settings State of main battery changes to Charging, though it is not connected to charger, and drains out in about 4-6 hours.
Backlight Brightness also behaves like it is on external power not on battery.
It looks like device thinks of itself, that it is connected to external power permanently.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Suddenly, after next recharging BA works normally again.
I'm glad that problem just dissapeared.
Since I do not know the reason of wierd power problem, I'm afraid it can happen aggain.
I've read most topics related to the BA power problem, and surmise that most complaints about BA eating batteries, self-discharging overnight, etc. were for the same reason as in my case.
There are no topics ended with problem solved by unlucky user.
Did their BAs start to function normally just like mine or they use it for paperweight?
Strange that no one suggested any explanation+solution of that power phenomenon.

Here is the problem :-
1. Full charged batttery (NEW) drain out within 2 hrs
2. Exec in standby mode, got heat (warm)
3. While charging, i put it on standby mode, few second later it wake up it self.
4. while open the cover, usually have to press the power button it's only wakeup, but this time its on every moment..
Tried solution :-
Problems occured while using gprs for internet, it hang so soft reset it... after soft reset everything is fine, but the battery drain out so fast... and the device is WARM...
Flashed back to original rom (o2) - still the same
Tried flashed to WM6 - still the same problem
i got 2 x batteries... the problem still the same (not the battery problem)
anyone can help out with this?
thank you so much
try using 2А battery charger .. I have had similar problems that I decided to convert the old computer power supply for charging purposes
I was going to say your battert's old and dead, but since you said it was independent from the battery, now I think the drain and the heating might be explained by a short circuit somewhere in the non-vital parts of the device, or a malfunction of the power control circuit, causing constant drain and heating up the battery.
As for the device beng constantly on, have you checked the power settings? If those are all right, they can stil be attributed to the faulty power controller...
I suggest you take it to a repair shop(since your ROM-flashing probably voided the warranty, so the provider will just turn you away...), they might be able to do something with it.
I suggest you check back later to see if someone more knowledgeable than me offered confirmation or another opinion...
Good Luck!
theres only one thing i can think of: Turn off your wifi when you dont use it Xp Thats the only reason i can think of when your device gets warm and the battery quickly drained ; D

I don't think so...the wifi doesn't use nearly enough power to heat up the device or drain the battery that quickly. Even with all wireless options enabled, but screen brightness set to minimum, the battery lasts approximately one and a half hours for me.
I think the quick drain and heating is caused by either a non-critical short-circuit or a faulty power controller circuit...
maybe you gor ripped off. what kind of battery did you buy?
The battery that im bought recently
same as the old one.
PU16A Li-ion Polymer Battery 1620mAh
everything i tried to save the power
everything off except the phone, the backlight set to the lowest.
im charge it with my charger instead of USB port from computer
After having gone through the posts regarding battery being drained very fast, went out and got a new one. It worked like a dream for about a month. Used to last a couple of days before requiring a recharge (it would go down to 20% remaining).
I usually leave the battery to charge overnight, have been doing that since the beginning. Well two weeks back, I find that my JasJar shows Green light but it would not turn on. A soft reset resolved the issue. But now everytime the battery goes into full charge (after the orange color LED turns Green) either of the 2 happen
1. The device resets itself. When switched on the battery charge shows less than 100%.
2. The device will not turn on until a soft reset. When switched on the battery charge shows 100%.
I have used WM6 from Laurentius, KDSKamal and the T-Mobile WM5. All ROM's give me the same result.
I tried using my old battery ( to make sure that my device charging was not faulty)and that works fine (except for the fast drain problem).
Anyone with any ideas as to what the problem could be?

seems like your new battery wore out (was not able to take the prolonged charging, an hour of charging will already give you almost 100%)... you said it yourself that your old battery works without the same problem
if you have just bought it for a month... there should be a warranty for this.... have it replaced immediately...
I have a wierd issue on the new purchased TP2.
I am recently I owner of Tytn II, just switched over to TP2. Once I received the TP2, it came in a full battery status. Then I used it all up and then proceed to my 1st charge ( over 12 hours, with phone off)
Things happened after I woke up in the morning.
1. No lights on for charging ( I assume that's a new feature when battery is full, instead of charging when red )
2. once I turned on and shows only 45-50% of battery status.
So I used it all up again, and see if it charges on the this time.
I am just wondering if anyone have this charging issue.
Dude, you are not treating your battery correctly. The below link has some useful info. Especially the link in post 3 by Sjuust.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524393
Btw, when it's charging, the status light will be a solid amber. When fully charged, it's a solid green. If there's no light, check your wires and stuff. Perhaps it's a bad socket.
Just doing a follow-up on the issue, the 2nd time not successful too
I tried and it worked only when I turn the device on to get a full charge.
Anyone think it's weird
Seems you mini usb does not connect propper. Try another cable, if this works you know the problem.
Or: press the male side of the mini usb each direction until you see a light burning. If this happens the usb opening in the phone is broken and you should get it fixed.
If this all does not work, still get it fixed. It's probably not the battery, but the usb opening in your phone.

that is very unusual as when phone is fully charged it stays on constant green light(led). at no time should it go off. unfortunately your battery may just need a few more normal charging cycles to achieve its full potential. if the led light goes off that is another issue! have you added any battery customizations?
Same problem here
I have - more or less - the same issue as D810Noob. My TP2 came fully charged out of the box. First time I charged it, the amber light was on during charging. Next morning no light was shown. I am not sure, but as I recall it, the battery was 100% charged. In the recent days, after one night charging (phone switched off) the green light is being shown but battery meter shows 89% (yesterday) or 91% (this morning). I have the 1% increment battery driver installed with the greenbatteryfix-icon installed.
This morning, after having switched on the phone and after having been confronted with 91% charge status, I reconnected the phone to the charger until it reached 100% (left the phone on during charging). With only two calls of two minutes in total and gprs (no hsdpa) running for two mail accounts, battery status dropped two 80% in 5:30 hrs. Never had such a drain with my TYTN2 that had (more or less) the same configuration.
It may very well be that my battery is not (yet) calibrated correctly, albeit that I fully discharged it last night. I will redo this a couple of times before returning to the shop, but this needs to be improved otherwise I will go back to my TYTN2.
Cheers, Dela
Still having this issue. I have drained my phone completely yesterday evening until it switched off itself. Ten restarted until it switched off again. Then had it charge for forteen hours (phone switched off). When I switched on the phone this morning, battery meter showed 96%. A bit more than an hour later it shows 80%. Had no phone calls, only receipt of six emails and half an hour drive in my car with BT connection. BT is on continiously, BTW.
This does not look good, does it? Anyone who can shine a light on this?
Cheers, Dela
PS: the charging light was green when I took it off the charger this morning, whilst the battery meter showing the 96% charge status right after the startup.
I've just upgraded to an HTC Desire after many years with a WM device.
I have noticed something unusual when charging the phone. When the battery reaches 100% it seems to stop charging and the battery starts draining. This means that by the time I wake up the phone has lost between 3 & 10% charge depending on tow early I want to bed.
The green charge full indicator stays on even as the charge drains.
It will not start charging again until unplugged and plugged in again.
Is this an Eco friendly charging feature that yactually stops the charger drawing power?
Has anyone else noticed this?
It is mostly a good thing, the only down side is on heavy usage days my battery just scrapes through 14hrs use and the extra few percent charge helps.

I mist say there are some interesting ideas in those threads. Will see what else is said on the matter.
this ebay bought magnetic chord i have lights blue led when its plugged in, and goes red when charging. however, now whenever its charging on my new z3c, it randomly fluctutates between red-blue red-blue although phone screen still shows its charging. any idea whats wrong? also, my phone is losing charge quicker since i charged with this chord (been only twice uptil now.) any suggestions? is it the phone or the chord only?
also, can generic chords actually spoil or harm the phones battery life? the first time i charged my z3c, it was with the inbox USB sony charger, and it lasted me a 10 hour night without a single % drop in battery on standby (though wifi and mobile data were both off, and i had no pending notifications in the am). Whereas, since charging with the generic magnetic chord, the battery's been dropping on standby at about 2% an hour. during intermittent screen checking, and dropped 3% last night (again wifi and data were off and no new notifications came in.)?? :-/ please help. thanks

i am having a similar experience using what i think is the same cord...i bought mine on ebay as well and it has the same blue/red led light...for me the color flickering seems to start at 90%+ when charging
i have also experienced worse battery drain when idle...i had a small suspicion that it was related to the charger but i also have different magnetic one and it seems to offer similar battery results...so its might just be magnetic charging altogether...i also read that some people believe it is the firmware update that caused the battery to drain faster...so im not exactly sure i can blame it on the charger
i have not done charge cycle from low battery to full with the oem charger in quite some time...maybe i will do that and see if the battery drains just as fast...maybe you could give it a try as well and see if it makes a difference (hopefully the magnetic charging hasn't already caused "permanent" damage)
yup, same flickering LED light here, mainly after about 90% charge. I've not noticed a difference in battery life betwen USB and mg or between different mag cables (I use two ebay mag cables and one Magnector x2). I do notice that one of the ebay cables charges a lot slower than the others, however.
Call me crazy, but I think that the flickering is normal. The flickering happens while the LED is trying to transition from Red to Blue, it should display a colour in between those two, but since there are only 2 LEDS (or 1 led with only two colors) aka two available colors, it will flicker because it's trying to do something that's impossible (trying to display a color beside red/blue). Mine does the same, but it doesn't bother me since it's supposed to do that. I don't have any battery issues.

I think you're not far off. I have the same cable probably, and it starts flickering in the mid-90%s. It probably has to do with the device reducing the charge drawn from the wall plug as it gets close to full battery.
Could you guys provide link to those chords?
