I've tried to look for info regarding how to:
Hide Input methods such as Block, letter recognizer, transcriber...
I used to be able to do this on Tweak2ks but I cannot run the software on my TyTN!
Please help me if you know the registry values for it..
Thanks!
...try: 'startmenu\settings\input]' and uncheck all the boxes on the second page....
thanks for the response but I don't have any options to hide input methods in the settings page...
Anyone can give me some light?

I have been trying for a little bit to add a general settings link in my settings panel. I am using SmartTool kit, so I am unable to access the right soft key feature that allows you to do this in the regular homescreen. My problem is that I make a reg key entry for this as an extra page in that panel, but when I do, there is no update to my homescreen. I have added it to the general settings part of the registry as a page in that panel called "Settings". I assume that that does not matter, but who knows. Anyways, I am thinking it is because my GUID code is incorrect. The reason being that if my actionURL was wrong or pic or SK2URL or anything, no visual effect would happen to that link in the panel.
What I mean is that if it were to not have the right picture, it just wouldn't show a picture, but the section would still be there. If the wrong URL was written, it just wouldn't have opened my target file like I want.
So, I think I am using the wrong GUID, if anyone has a clue how to help, please step up. I would appreciate it tremendously. Thanks!
(EDIT) I just tried everyone. By trial and error I got it. If anyone wants to know it's : {74D7FEB8-0DA7-485a-AB4F-4D12E6338758}
Can not find the input section of the settings in the menu. I want to disable the xt9 function on my HTC shadow. Can someone please help ???
Hey everyone,
I cant seem to work out how to get auto complete to work when using the hardware keyboard.
It worked on my TYTN II and i really liked the feature as i am entering service log numbers and i dont have to look at my book each time to see what the next number is.
Any ideas how to get this going>
I have set in advanced config for word suggestion to 4 (it was on 0) and in input options > options > xt9 settings > i ticked word completion in abc mode (for phone keypad only) and its not coming up.
I have soft reset the phone as well.
Have tried searching but havnt found much.
Cheers

IMPORTANT: previously be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.
Simply change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409
Ime File : \windows\xt9ime.dll change to Ime File :\windows\compime.dll
and
Layout Text : XT9 IME change to Layout Text : COMP IME
And soft reset.

Great ! works like a charm.
Cool.... been looking for this.

This is my first post, so please forgive me if the answer has already been provided somewhere else.
I have a TP2 purchased in Hong Kong that has the Chinese Fonts built into the ROM. The ROM version is 1.19.721.1 (51489) WWE.
I have checked in the registry and there is no HKLM\Software\Tegic entry.
The other keys are
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409
Ime File :\windows\compime.dll
and
Layout Text : COMP IME
Word completion using the onscreen keyboard and/or hardware keyboard does not work.
There is no normal keyboard available for selection, only the Touch Input
Could anyone advise how to fix this?
Thanks in advance, Gary
this should do it

Just wondering if anyone has faced the qwerty keyboard changed to a funny number key pad that has only 2 alphabet p and w in it? I am wondering if it is because of this tweak that is causing it. It will change without new software installation after a few days of usage. It has happened to me in 3-4 occasions already.
Only way to overcome it is for me to restore to previous backup. After a few days, same thing would happen and again I have to restore. So frustrating!

I seem to get the proper keyboard in my text messages though, and everywhere else the numbers :S

Normally, all you have to do to enable the word completion on the hardware keyboard is to pop up the SIP keyboard and tick the box at the left of the keyboard from "ABC" to "XT9," then simply slide out the hardware keyboard. It works for me every time.
On my Kaiser I always set word correction to be T9 (pop up list of suggestions) rather than XT9.
I did the change using advanced config utility. The advanced config utility I have for the TP2 does not have this feature.
Who know how to adjust the registry to enable T9 instead of XT9?
Not sure if this is what you're looking for but here goes...
Go to "Settings" tab in TF3D
Tap "All Settings"
Go to "Personal" tab
Tap "Input"
With "Touch Input" selected, tap "Options..."
Go to "XT9 Settings" tab
Uncheck "Auto-Substitution"

Thanks for the reply but that's not it.
In XT9 the default, word suggestions appear in a row across the screen.
In T9 the word suggestions appear in a pop up block on the screen.

Has anyone figured out how to enable T9 instead of XT9 on the TP2?
I think the answer to your question is found in the thread:

I'm not very sure as I don't know what the T9 is supposed to look like...

T9 is a text predictive input method found mostly on mobile phones, where you use numeric keys to enter letters (hence the letters on each key) and the software predicts the word by the sequence in which you press the keys. This input method is present on my Dopod D810.
The word completion function being discussed is not a part of T9, but a Pocket PC/Windows Mobile feature that has always been present on PPC devices (way before these PDA convergence phones) but has been replaced by HTC to give a different behaviour and appearance.
I think I have the problem figured.
Once you do the reg tweaks T9 pop up word suggestion works great until you try and do a new contact.
When you move from a text field to a number field the keypad automatically changes to numeric and after that it will not change back again at all for any text field.
Some clever person out there needs to work out what other registry change needs to be made to re-enable the auto switching of the keyboard between text and numeric fields while still maintaining the T9 word suggestion.
I have a Tilt 2 running the NEW ROM.
I want to disable the automatic pop-up of the soft keyboard, so that I get to decide when I want to use it.
Is there a way to turn this feature off?
I have seen references to making changes to the registry, I assume there is a switch in there somewhere, but how does one access the registry? Is there a hidden program somewhere I could start or do I have to download it?
Thanks,
Richard..
You need to download a registry editor. There are various choices out there. I use Total Commander:
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
The reg edit that I have seen for preventing the soft keyboard from popping up, helps a little. But it doesn't prevent it in all situations.
As Redpoint mentioned, Total Commander is the preferred file explorer for most of us. Task Manager 3.1 is what I use for mobile registry editing. I do try to avoid doing any editing on my device, though. I rather edit on the PC side with the larger screen and less room for errors. For editing the device's registry from the PC, I use CEReg Editor 0.0.5.3.
For disabling the keyboard, you could try an app that I used to use on WM5 with my old Sable. It says it works with WM6, so give it a shot and see if you like it. It's called Nullkeyboard. All it does is add a blank SIP to your device. Select Nullkb from the SIP input button and you're good to go. Here is the link to the download.
I used Advanced Config. It gives you a nice way to select options and features and then change your registry for you. It is AWESOME for a tweaker. I'm using version 3.3.0.0 and it works great on my Tilt2 original OEM ROM.
Using this app, Under the Input category, change "Auto deply SIP" to disabled.
Okay, I downloaded the nullkeyboard and tried, it but it had no apparent effect.
I also downloaded the Task Manager 3.3 (latest version) and it works. I did a search for "keypad", but none of them appear to relate to controlling the pop-up feature.
Does anyone know what registry entry controls the soft keypad pop-up feature?
Thank you,
Richard..

Did you select the nullkeyboard from the SIP selection window that pops up when you press the right side of the soft keyboard icon?
You should NOT be searching around the registry for things to change without knowing what they are. Doing so can possibly screw up your phone and require a hard reset. You should only apply registry changes you see posted on here, and change them exactly as indicated.
The reg edit to prevent SIP for opening:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip
"TurnOffAutoDeploy" value="1"
NullKeyboard - Oh, is that how it works? Thank you for telling me. It does the job, except for the times I would like to use the keyboard for quik edits, I have to change it back to the regular keyboard first.
REGEDIT - I found the registry key: HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip
but there were no values in it for: TurnOffAutoDeploy
I added the value: "TurnOffAutoDeploy" value="1" (no quotes) with the type REG_SZ and then rebooted the phone. I also changed NullKeyboard back to regular.
This had no effect on the Auto Deploy of the keyboard.
I was hoping the RegEdit would work. The keyboard would be there, but would not pop-up until I wanted it.
If I did something wrong, or you have any other suggestions, please let me know.
Thank you,
Richard..
I think the reg type should have been a DWORD value of 1.
Great! That did it. The keypad stays out of the way and is there if I want it.
Thank you,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, cajunflavoredbob
I have one app in which the pop-up keyboard on my T-Mobile HTC HD2 drives me nuts, and several others in which I could do without it. You gave me the answer that I couldn't find in any of the other threads, and I really appreciate it.
