I have a problem accessing my Outlook Data from any Windows Mobile 2005 device. This is due to the large capacity of my pim.vol file which is 80MB !!
I was wondering if there is a way to make the device accessing this file from the Storage Card instead from the main memory. This will solve the problem.
Looking forward urgently for your replies
Thanks
I too am wondering if there is a way to make the device accessing this file from the Storage Card instead from the main memory.

Hi. Can anyone tell me where the data is stored on the PDA for in-built software such as Calendar, Contacts etc. I've looked through the registry and folder structure on the internal memory but have been unable to find the data.
Can anyone also confirm if there is any way of moving all of this data to the Memory card rather than internal memory ?
Thanks for any help,
Alex.
Hi,
I would like to know how I can transfer my PIM file to my storage card because it's taking up a lot of the phone's memory space. Currenly the file is 20000k and the free memory space on the phone's storage is only 10MB.
I have deleted unneccesary information on my Task and Calendar programs. The Contacts list is taking up a lot of memory space and I still need more memory space, hence the need to transfer the PIM folder to the storage card if it's possible.
Awaiting your response!

You can't transfer to the storage card, lots of people would like to do this.

i am trying to sync my pocket pc to the computer...everything connects but when i try sending information to pocket pc, it gives me msg saying "storage memory low, please delete files or put on storage card" something like that...but how do i do that...i have no excel files or anything..just trying to put some ringtones on my phone..i went to storage and it shows me sd space but how do i send the information from my computer to sd card or from pocket pc to sd card...
normal activesync dont sync sd cards
in settings memory
you can see how the memory is deviced between storage and application mem
you can add some memory to storage
or delete some big files and or uninstall some programs

Just like the subject says... internal memory or SD card, which directory? This is the standard Sense Mail app using Exchange.
Thanks.
Well on the sdcard there is a hidden folder named .mail which I assume it is for attachment storage. The actual email should be stored somewhere in the internal memory.
Thank you for the reply, anybody know of a specific directory on the internal storage, also, is there a way to move it to the SD card?
Bumpity-bump
What are you looking to be able to do?
Assuming you are connected with Exchange ActiveSync, your email is stored on your Exchange server and cached on your device.
I cache my entire email account, all past emails, and was wondering how much space its taking up, and if it is taking up precious internal memory I want to move it to the SD card, if possible...
Make sense?
Hi,
I know it is not such a good idea to use an SD card as internal memory. But unfortunately it has now happened.
I use a Motorola G5s with Android 8.1, 64 GByte SD card as internal memory. Now I would like to switch to a new Android and backup everything via the Google cloud before. Both Whatsapp backups and ThreemaBackups abort, probably because there is too little memory. The internal shared memory is given as 13.04 used by 32 GB and the SD as 63.06 used by 64 GB. I have removed Apps & Videos, only the internal shared memory becomes free. However, the backup problem remains.
What can I do? How can I make Whats App etc. find enough memory again?
Kind regards
Alex

This thread is for g5 not for g5s. Please post your problem in g5s thread.
And for memory check, just install any file manager and check where the memory is using.
For WhatsApp use whatsapp backup feature, it will backup all of contact, message, video....
WhatsApp has its own backup system
Open WhatsApp and goto settings/chat/chat backup
Link your Google drive account and chat backups will be made
If you have too much media & not enough online storage you can manually copy the media from the WhatsApp folder on your device to a PC and backup just the chat messages only
