What happened when you update your rom with that file? how do you understand it is a virus?
I downloaded to my pc, my antivirus software started to scream.

What antivirus are you running? I've scanned the file with Norton AV, it gives an OK. No problem. Probably it is a false positive at your side.
avast and kaspersky w32:trojan.gen in exe file
I've got McAfee 7 updated july 28th and it didn't detect anything malicious in that exe file :?

I am trying to unlock a XDA II. I have downloaded the XDA II V 2.2 unlock program copied it to the SD card , tried running it and got that it is not a valid pocket PC application.

Sounds like ur trying to run the exe on the pda... Thats not how it works! Read the instructions again and ur see...
You need to get your pda into a special mode, the run the exe on your PC making sure that you disabled communications to pda via USB. Now the program will work..
The file "HTC Unlock Universal.exe" in Upload directory
is a malware file.
/Uploads/Athena/HTC Unlock Universal.exe
It will delete all files on harddrive and damage NTLDR.
It just ruined a Windows installation on our laptop completely,
now we must recover the files by hand and install again everything
Worst is, it is not detected by most AV tools.
Please try it yourself in a VMWare machine.

I have been trying to find the downloader for the hardspl and radio where do I get the link from? The only link I found everytime I download it and unzip the file nothing would be in there. Then when I found one that would work it wasnt for my phone. I am look for the hard spl unlock so for the T-Mobile toucn pro 2 (gsm) I have been looking for three days now>

Try disabling your anti-virus when you download and run it. The EXE is compressed in a way similar to the compression of many malicious programs, so many anti-virus programs (especially Norton) simply hide or delete the files. Many people, including myself, can personally vouch that the files don't contain malware of any sort, so it's fine to disable your anti-virus temporarily.

Im trying to flash on all of the above ROMs from their websites.. oin all the .nbh file is corrupt upon extraction.. or extracts and then gives error code 270 as the reason for incomplete instal
what cud the cause of this be?
I've used on vista an XP with no avail as well as MAC Parallel Desktop...

Since you are the first one posting this, it should be possible in general.
Naming the OS is a good start. But what packer do you use? What browser?
Energy ROM works with 7zip Codec.
Personally I use winrar. You could try this or the 7zip own program.
you don't really need to open a thread just for this. I use NRG, Cell series and every one of them open up for me. If you can't open it check your download was good. Then extract them with winrar or 7zip. Check the filename...if you see any % signs around the file name, you have to take those out. etc...
One thing I do is just try a different computer
Make sure you have the right .NET framework installed for windows. The wrong version will cause a corrupted file on extraction. I have had no problems with 3.5... found here:

Also - disable any anti-virus software you may be using. Mcafee will often block the CustomRUU file from running correctly for whatever reason.
I've had similar problems, it turns out my anti virus (AVG) was blocking the customRUU, adding it to exceptions solved the issue. Only do this, however, if you're sure you haven't downloaded a virus/trojan!

I downloaded the MSM Download Tool and extracted it to a folder, but when I try to open it, it errors out and then the entire .exe just disappears. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Sounds like your windows virus and threat protection. You need to disable this protection under your virus and threat protection settings and try again.
