I'm badly need for IR keyboard driver (MP-0118) by micro innovations. I look everywhere but no luck..it's for my XDA IIi.
help guys.
Did anybody ever track down a driver for the Micro Innovations MP-0118 keyboard? I picked one up cheap, but the driver CD has files from between 1999 - 2002, with the setup program dated 1999.
Does anybody have anything newer? Or is my $8 keyboard just a paperweight?
I'm looking for the same driver... will let you know if I find it, please also keep me in mind.

Ok
does this work with the xda2 do we know?
Personally i would rather have bluetooth for things like a pda keyboard but damn its so cheap is it worth a buy?

do they work on the xda 2?
I ordered one on thursday so will let you know when it arrives !!, but i hope it does
Blimey!, just clicked on your link and they only have 122 left in stock, they had 504 on thursday evening, so if you want one, you better order it quick i recon !
Although, i just found this review and it isnt looking good :?

I took at chance as they were so cheap but it's bad news, they don't come with a driver for the XDA or XDAII and having tried all the available drivers both on the install CD and the Micro Technologies website I've been unsuccessful.
The device is actually a Pocketop product and would you believe that they expect you to pay $10 to download new drivers regardless of whether it's new or not! They don't have an XDA driver nor do they have any idea if or when one will be available
Me too, Mine turned up this morning and it doesnt work at all, i have tried everything, i even found some of pocketop's TKB700U drivers on another site and tried all of them and none of them work,
I emailed pocketop and they havent replied yet, but upon doing some research i found that it just isnt compatible with the XDA2, there is a different keyboard they do that works with the XDA1 but it looks like this keyboards is only going to get used with my Ipaq 2210 as it supports that
i bought 2 of them......works perfectly on dell axim both x3 ,x5 devices, but nothing happens with my xda 2,any hint?
Anyone know if an RS232 cable is available for the Jasjar yet or have I got to use one of these awful RS232/USB convertors?
Regards
did you ever get a lead that worked ? I can't find one and I'm trying to work out if I can hack my old IPAQ one up. cheers

A converter isn't going to work. They all require a USB Host port.
yes
also interested into this old fashionned but necessary tool to console to routers for example.
so up for this topic
I am interested also.
I was thinking about this a while back though. I think the only way this is going to work really is through a bluetooth or IR adapter.
Obviously those would require external power. Doing it with an IR adapter should be relatively easy to program, something along the lines of a PIC 16F64 or 18F452 would be more than enough. However, would it be usable? When controlling a router I would like to use the keyboard. The IR points dirctly towards the user.
However, I have little experience in how BT works, so would not be able to even think on how that would work.

Perhaps this might point you in the right direction...

Its a guide to making a GPS IRDA but I'm sure it could be suitably modified.
Bluetooth to usb
How about this: http://www.neteon.net/cat.aspx?clvl=3&c1=1&c2=177&c3=107
It's a serial to Bluetooth dongle. I don't see any WM drivers but I would think that the bluetooth stack on the latest "cooked" ROMS would support serial host since that is what most bluetooth GPS receivers use.
If it wheren't for the $108 price tag I would grab one of these myself and see if it worked.
Maybe in a few weeks. If someone else gets a chance to try this one, please post here and let us know.
Gents I just wan to collect some ideas or experiences on my issue. since few weeks my keyboard giving me troubles. Some of the keys are less responsive and need more pressure to type correctly. I am not sure whether it is the rubber membrane or the keypad. Anyone has such experience and any idea what can be done to fix it? Obviously I don't wan to spend 250-300 USD to buy complete set of Keyboard for my old Universal
Not That I Know What Causes It But I Too Would Like To.
Since Having My Brand New G4 Replaced With A Nearly New G4 Device, (Due To A Broken USB Port)
I Too Experience This But Only With The Number 6 Key. (Haven't Noticed Any Others Yet)
If Anyone Knows Why And If Its Fixable Please Let It Be Public Knowledge.

Hi, my USB connector pulled out, so I have been searching for parts & accessories sources. This is just one of many I have found: NEW OEM FULL HOUSING CASE + KEYBOARD FOR I-MATE JASJAR $56.00 total http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160242894972&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006
I am a beginner JasJar owner/user, so most of that I read on this web site is greek to me, but interesting copy. Maybe I will learn something, or not? I love my JasJar and I am sure I am using a minimal of its capabilities. I have a 1gb card in use and an 8gb card it does not see, an Spanish Dictionary card it does not see or I cannot access. I am sure it needs to be upgrades from WM5 to WM6, but I am not proficient enought to do myself. After copying the correspondence there appears to be many versions of WM6 with varying drawbacks. I will continue to read ya'alls correspondence and input when I feel I can assist. Hugh
Hey all,
Before I start just about every tech blog links to this site for WM info, wonderful I want to ask if anybody uses an inexpensive physical folding keyboard for the touch, exactly like the kind people use on palm pdas? You can just stuff it in a messenger bag or something and I really need one. I can't use the touch on screen for typing forum posts when I'm at the library or whatever, but I never carry a laptop because the phone does everything I need. Bluetooth, usb, any type of folding keyboard would be great. Thanks all. I'm sure HP has a bluetooth one but some people have said it didn't work with WM6, only WM5.
I use the i-go stowaway keyboard. unfortunately, its discontinued, but you can probably find it somewhere. On i-go's site the drivers are available, but none for the elf. I used a driver from an htc wizard, and it works. The battery life on this keyboard is amazing. ive been using it for a year and a half and battery life is still "normal".

i recommend.
^how stupid can I be? I saw one on ebay for 40 used, but I thought it wasn't compatible with the touch so I skipped it and now it's gone. Thanks though i'll try to keep an eye out for that one!
yeah. Try to read reviews to find out if its compatible. I bought mine for 50. When downloading drivers the elf wasnt there, and i even contacted support. and they said it doesnt work, and will never work. So i grabbed the driver from the HTC wizard, i dont know why, it worked.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if someone has tried to make the Sony NSG-MR5U or NSG-MR7U (the same but with a microphone), originally made for the NSZ-GS7 and NSZ-GS8 Google TV boxes, on Android ?
I was looking for remote for my android tablet (Samsung Galaxy note 8) and Nexus 5 that I plug on my TV. I found tons of ****ty "made in china" bluetooth remotes on the amazon/ebay (like the iPazzPort™ ProMini Bluetooth Mini Wireless Keyboard).
I have bought this Sony remote, the quality and feel is really good, it can pair with my tablet, the keyboard and most buttons are working, but unfortunately the touchpad is not... This would be the ultimate remote for Android
I did not find anything on the web, except some people tried to make the NSG-MR5U on Linux (forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=153504&page=2 and mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg03251.html), but agin the trackpad is not working. I did not find anything on XDA about this remote.
Anyone has an idea how to make the touchpad of this remote work on Android ?
Let us know if you find the way to solve it. I am considering to buy Logitech K400r guys are agreeing to be the best choice. Thanx.
I want this remote to work on my windows HTPC. everything works except a few minor buttons and the trackpad. all this remote really needs is someone with experience to make a trackpad driver, and whatever would be necessary to allow the remote to wake a sleeping machine. The keyboard and most media keys work fine on their own. the rest of the keys that don't work can be customized using Eventghost. I have a serial cable for my Samsung tv to connect to my pc as well to operate the tv for basic functions. if I could just get this remote to work, id have a perfect setup for my needs.
Also, confirmed working on my Nexus 5. basically all functions OP mentioned work. no trackpad of course. I wonder if someone could pull the drivers from the Sony google TV this remote came from, since its an android device as well?

Up!
This remote already has a driver for Android (I think the Sony NSZ-GS8 Google TV box is running the Jelly Bean Google TV). Does anyone know how to extract a driver from Android in general? The closest answer I found to this is not very encouraging : android.stackexchange.com/questions/28379/where-are-android-drivers-located-in-the-system
[PS: the 10 post limitation for posting URLs and in Dev forums is really very annoying!]

How the Logitech K400r is supposed to work on Android? According to the specs, this keyboard is using the unifying receiver instead of the bluetooth standard.. But that said, I have this keyboard for a Windows 7 PC and it is working beautifully.

so. Im bringing back this thread, or trying to. I've had this remote for some time, pretty much collecting dust. I was so sure i'd be able to get it working with my Minix X7 I ordered the second i saw a dso. Im bringing back this thread, or trying to. I've had this remote for some time, pretty much collecting dust. I was so sure i'd be able to get it working with my Minix X7 I ordered the second i saw a decent price. Well those hopes and dreams came and went. Now here we are today, i've got a brand new nVidia Shield console that i'm pretty sure has a BETTER chance than my Minix X7 at getting this to work. Why you ask? Well for one the Box this was designed to work with was a Sony made Google TV .. hoping someone somewhere has a copy of that firmware and we might be able to extract what we need to get this working fully! C'mon Who is with me?!?!?

I just retired my Sony Nsz-gs8 for a Nvidia Shield TV but I miss the sony remote so hopefully someone can do their magic.
