MDA III (UK) Upgrade went loops - Please can you help??? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hey All
Stumbled on this forum from google after trying to figure out what went gone wrong with my MDA III on T-Mobile UK.
1. Went to http://t-mobile.iris-global.com/download_manager_mda_3.html and downloaded the new update for the MDA III
2. Did the usual back-up, soft reset, put the phone in the cradle blah blah blah and then got a message ERROR 100: MODEL ID ERROR, so heart skipped a beat, rang customer services, who put me through to a scottish dude (nothing against the scottish) who told me to re-download the update and try again. Did that but same problem. (Now have a problem with the scottish dude). No help there.
3. Did a hard reset, and now got no T-Mobile Splash screen, just grey bars, then the phone loads WM 2003, but reading the myriad of pages that you guys have written, it seems like the extended rom ( the bid that holds the T-Mobile software, I think) has disappeared into thin air!
Just wondering now:
a) What/how do I do to get my phone back to how it should be
b) And from the downloaded .exe from T-Mobile how do I open that up to see whats inside?
c) Please let me know where to go from here, I'm a complete newbie to this and didn't even know you could get WM 2005 on my phone!
Regards

Now extract the downloaded file with winzip or winrar, download this file and extract it into the folder with the extracted upgrade, then run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and upgrade will begin, after finishing please post the results

Hi,
Thanks for the info, but when you say
Now extract the downloaded file with winzip or winrar
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
how should I do that, because what I downloaded from T-Moblie was in .exe format, and it self extracts the files without letting me know where!
Thanx!

Right Click on the exe file and choose extract with winrar or winzip if you have one of these programs they should be added in the context menu of windows for extracting

Hi,
Thanks...tried it, as stated, but it shows this :
{

ERROR 100: MODEL ID ERROR
Any Ideas, I will be enternally grateful. :idea: :shock:

nbf --> SD card

Hi...
I i'm new i the game of uploading ROMs to my Qtek 1010.
I have tryed to load an WM2003 final, to my qtek. And well done. I did it over the SD card.
I want to try theWM2003SE, but i can only get i in a form of .exe. I can't get this to work. Then i tryed to extract. And got an nbf file.
I tryed to load this file to my SD card, but the OSImageTool came with an error. Something about the file size don't became the right.
That can i do?

Until someone "patched" the OSImagetool you just can flash the WM2003SE via EXE-File...
What error do you get when using the exe?
If you have installed a t-mobile ROM (e.g. 4.01.16) you have to downgrade first via SD-Card to 3.17.03 and then use the exe-file....

Hi again...
I have cooked some different ROMs based on 3.04.00 ENG Microsoft for the WM2003SE, and 4.01.12 ENG O2euro for the WM2003 final.
Every time i try to load it, my Qtek restart and the loading program came with an error, about it can't see my qtek, and I must check the USB connection.
I just tryed it again for see the error, and now its write something about my ROM versions not are compatible... So now i think i have to downgrade it... Is that right?
But how am i doing it?
Hmm...
I have now downgraded it. To some WM2002
And when i install the WM2003SE .exe file.
First came:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then it shortly came on the qtek display [upgrading] or [uploading] or something, then it reboots.
And the install program came with this:
Some body knows what I can do???

Need to go back to ppc 2003.. help please!

I just installed windows mobile 2003SE on my xda2 replacing 2003, i had lost com ports 4 and 5 and didnt know how to get them back.
That worked great until i flashed the Ext Rom with my own medley of software. I am now getting messages saying that the sofware i am installing was written for an earlier version (2003) and may not work. Pda then locks up until i do a soft reset then starts without my stuff.
Cut a long story short i want to reinstall factory version of windows mobile 2003... Anyone know a good link to download it?
P.S Tried o2 website but no luck
CHEERS
Cunning plan!!
OK..... So all copies of wm2003 has been banished to hell !!!
Next plan !.. I have another xda2 with wm2003 installed... all i have to do is get a copy from it and install it back on my other xda2!!
Only one problem... dont know how?
The first launch rom is here
ftp://[email protected]/Himalaya/ROM1.03/O2 XDA2 1.03 first Rom/Xda_II_LaunchROM_v10311.zip
I guess its wm 2003
whats the rom no of your other xda2?
rom version 1.72.00wwe
Is this file self loading or do i need some other software... cheers!
NOTE: That file has just come through corrupt... going to try again !
Its self loading after connecting device via activesync but its a much older rom - trying to put my hands on your rom.
It looks like the 1.72 was an upgrade to an older rom
good resource is here http://www.slipstreamsolutions.co.uk/support/rom_updates.htm
You could run the rom 1.31.139 and then the 1.72 update
or backup your 2003 rom on a sd card see here http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62
Thanks mark, been searching all night for it !

Can't install Official WM6 ROM coz SPL 2.10

Hi,
I would like to install the latest o2 WM6 Update. But, durin the installation my device turns into the 4-colour screen, and nothing happens. After a while i got a prompt on my PC, that the conenction got broken.
I think it's because my SPL (Bootloader) version 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7).
Do i need to downgrade to old 1.04 SPL to install the Update, or is there a way to modify the o2-RUUWrapper, so that it works for SPL 2.10 as well?
Thank you!

You may find THIS THREAD and THIS ONE useful.
Really though, this is all we should give you. Hopefully these will be enough, but the wiki will help too. You will need to understand what to do from here, or else you cause yourself problems.
Does I only need to copy the costum wrapper in my unpacked official-o2 Rom directory?
My PDA is not here yet, so i can't try sry...^^
but thank you all

Assuming you're on Windows, put WINRAR on your machine as it makes some things much easier
To clarify things:
1)Right click on the downloaded exe package and choose extract (here or to folder) and winrar will extract some setup files. Now, in there, there is another exe file that can be extracted in the same way as the first one and this should produce some more setup files and RUU_SIGNED.NBH - this is the only file you need - you can delete everything else except this.
2)download RUU_Wrapper.exe or copy it from one of the more recent cooked ROMs in to the same folder which holds RUU_SIGNED.NBH and run it - this will then put it all on your phone
It's not olipro causing you any problems

Smiffy.

Can some one help me out?
**Update**
I got the RUU_Excalibur_ROGERS_WWE_1.30.631.2_4.1.13.47_02.98.90_Ship.exe File to funtion properly but it failed as it was about to upgrade.

edit: sorry, wrong thread
Now how do i get the phone working put the rom from htc site...
Ny one... pls help me...
Use active-sync and syncronize pc/diamond and execute the file you have downloaded.
Follow the screen information
Hey Gho57,,
thanks ill do that.. but now is there a way to get to the activesync .... actually like i told the phone is stuck in the initial boot screen... never goes to the basic desktop of the phone...
i don't remember but i think the file you downloaded from htc is a self-extraction zip. Try use windows, right click on this file and choose "open with" and select your zip software.
One file is bigger than 90/100 Mbyte, extract it and rename to diamimg.nbh and put this file into diamond internal storage. Now soft-reset the device and hold "Vol Down and Back"
Back = Small Arrow above "End Call" Button
Happy Flashing
ok thanks lemme try...
Hey Guys thanks alot ... My problem is fixed..
