device hangs for few seconds on power on - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

this problem is occuring with the new roms , it s quit irritating... how to solve it ??????????????????????????????

Got the same over here
Trued allot of roms bud still didn’t got a good one
When you have afresh rom installed
It looks like it gone work properly it reacts fast like it should be
Then when you install your favo aps lik battery pack or spb
It still works oke the signal strength is maximum
Bud if its on for a day it’s terrible
Y think something in the rom making it hang
To bad there isn’t any task bar ap so you can see what’s making the universal hang
Still looking for the right one

i meant right after power on ... device is not responding
i didnt mean slowness after a while due to loaded program memory, i meant TOTAL hanging / stop responding of the whole device for few seconds right after you power it on .... ??????

We need more information such as...
What ROM version are you using?
What softwares do you have installed and running?
Does a hard reset solves the problem?
Did it ever occurred before this?
Did you install something different this past few days?

do you have software at the today screen which is installed on SD card?
if yes, remove from today screen or install to main memory...

Are you using Wisbar Lite ???

AKU/cashe ????
when i press the power button the screen goes on , but no icons are responding at all , untill few seconds...
it occured with "JASJAR_ME_13082_171_10900_wwe_ship"
also with the recent o2 rom
the new arabic i-mate rom
but it didnt occur with older roms
also it occured in a baby windows ( before installing anything )
i believe it is related to the AKU2 , i think it is related to a change in cashing or so ....
many thanks for reply

One more idea: about the same happened to me when I installed the new Qtek ROM.
After a while I found a note on these forums that it is advisable to remove SDDAEMON.EXE from the startup. It was causing a lot of duplicated notifications, and my device was hanging frequently.
So I deleted the SDDAEMON link from startup. Since than it's all OK !!

So, you flashed the ROM and the device didn't switch on? Then you used mtty and everything went well, but now you don't know what to do? Try another ROM for your device. If your phone has USB at the top and bootloader version numbers at the bottom - you are in bootloader mode, ready to flash.

then i take out battery and put again after few hour it work again for few hour and then dead again is that battery or ROm problem please help
also please tell me somthing about RADIO i got 0.0.0 verion in phone what is the use of Radio
please explain little
Perhaps your battery has to be changed
Radio improves signal and also afects on battery, for Tomal ROM´s the most recommended are:
1.18
1.17
1.15
You can find them in the Wiki or in the fttp, or using search button

Radio is your GSM carrier signal picker and cannot be 0.0.0. Different Radio versions allow you to pick up signal better or worse, depending on many factors, such as tower proximity, location, obstructions etc. Higher Radio version number does not necessarily mean better, but in many cases there can be an improvement in reception. Different ROMs work better with particular Radio versions and the ROM creator will generally recommend the Radio to use with his ROM, based on testing. Sometimes you may find other version works better for you than others.
I suggest for you to try and flash your original ROM, the one that was on your device out of the box. The original ROM package comes with everything you need in 3 parts - OS, Radio and ext ROM. Once you have all 3 established and your device working properly, you can eliminate your device as being the culprit, which leaves a battery.
The problem you described might sound like a battery problem, not sure whether you described your Radio problem correctly, but if that's the case you can try flashing Radio only and see if it solves the problem. Although without any Radio (and custom ROMs come without Radio), I don't see how you could use your device as a phone at all.

My guess is your button is jammed or PCB is damaged as the worst case scenario.

Weird upgrade bug

Hello,
Today i wanted to try the new 3volution rom for the s620 when i got an annoying bug
I spent most of the afternoon looking for an answer but found none.
Everything works well in the beginning until i got to push the center button for the screen to turn white. It turns white indeed but then activesync desynchronizes and doesnt resync anymore, so im unable to upgrade (either it stops at 3% or with kavana's doesnt detect old rom) and in some cases it says the new flash rom is corrupt..
Its like my 5th flash, and prior to today i never had a problem flashing and upgrading
So i tried reinstalling activesync multiple times, changing cables, even hard resetting my s620 (i got the nrg rose 1.7 rom on it), i even restored my comp on a previous state.. nothing
It just keeps breaking the sync when i push the center button and doesnt resync for the rest of the procedure
If someone has an idea im all ears ^^ and sorry it it has been already posted
Welcome to forums
Try a hard reset or reinstall ROM
Have a deep read here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537151
Hope it helped,
redownload the rom. then read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493266
3% freeze up it very common
I am seing something similar. If I set my device down without locking it the screen goes completely white. When I first loaded the rom it didnt do it for about a week and now it does it everytime. The only changes I've made since loading the rom is that I installed Google Maps and TCPMP.
Hmm its very weird, i did the hard reset.. well it didnt work..
The 3% error i got that only once
I tried installing the official htc 6.1 windows mobile rom and got the error 244 ...
and same as always, the moment the screen turns white it disconnects from activesync and doesnt reconnect. Imho XP needs reinstalling..
So my theories so far are: activesync is buggy to the core. Ill try flashing on my laptop as soon as i get to it.
Also one thing ive noticed: in all my previous flashes i had the original htc battery.. now i got an extreme energy battery with a blue and white sticker, ill try replacing the original battery before reflashing.
As i said in my first post, this is not my first flash, and i have flashed before to kavana's then rose then kavana's again and it always went smooth.
I have been using the S620 for like one year and a half and never had a prob.
Its an htc version and it was not locked; anyway in belgium locked phones are forbidden to sale
Greetings from the land of the beer and thanks to the developpers
Which Bootloader are u using ?
The official shipped one or the modified one ?
Hmm good question, where can i see the version ? When it boots up i see the nrg rose 1.7 black screen with white writings.
Another weird thing: my keyboard is azerty, so prior to hard reset i had a language pack for french keyb, after the hard reset my keyb works just fine without any language pack installed ... not that it is a problem but i just dont understand ^^

HTC Desire Reboot Loop Problem

I have an interesting problem, kind of. Bought my phone second hand as supposedly unlocked & debranded but on boot up it after the HTC logo I get the Virgin Media logo, not really an issue though. Anyway the problem is when I switch the phone off and then switch on again it boots up fine to the home screen and then it will reboot itself and carries on doing this. i.e. boot up to home screen then reboot again continuously.
To get out of this reboot loop I have to remove the sim & boot the phone with no sim in it then switch off and insert my normal Vodafone phone sim and switch on again. after that the phone is fine until I power down and then the same thing happens.
Anybody else experienced this or got any ideas?? It came with 1.15.405.4 firmware already installed and I have tried reflashing with the same firmware using the goldcard method & it worked but the problem remains. When the sim registers on the network is when the reboot loop seems to start.
did you try reflashing it ?
hold down the side button (down) and press on at the same time.
then select erase data and press on again
if you bought it second hand, its hard to say what the previous user has done with it ...
Yep tried reflashing it, just about to reflash again with an older rom. It's just wierd that a sim card authenticating to the network would cause a reboot loop.

Maybe it's a dumb question - But I'm having some issues that doesn't seem to get solved by a factory reset - Would it be an idea to reflash it for this, so the phone gets a fresh rom?
How would I do it specifically? Do you know of a guide somewhere?

have you tried a different sim card ?
Ye tried a different sim card, boots fine and all is good till you reboot the phone and then the same happens again. Anyways flashing was a disaster this time round as I was doing it on my work pc and Symantec kicked in thinking it found a virus with adb.exe and halted the process & quarrantined the file. Now everytime I try and reflash on a different PC I get the dreaded error(110):file open error. Disconnect the phone & all I get is a black screen & HTC logo. Nice. Thanks Symantec you've just bricked my Desire!!
*UPDATE* - Fixed.
Removed the battery, left it for a few hours then reflashed on a different pc and it flashed fine. Then thought I'd try & repeat so reflashed with the older rom from here (originally used the newer rom posted on Modaco) and got the error again and again couldn't flash back to the newer. Removed the battery left for an hour and then could reflash again and get it working!! Wierd
I had the same problem.
My Solution: remove battery, remove the SIM, put battery reboot, turnoff, remove battery, put SIM, put battery, boot
first i want to excuse my bad english, hope you will undestand what i´m trying to say.
i have the same problem since a few days.
first time i notice it,was when the desire was charching and i used it a bit,it restarts again and again.so i put out the battery and wait a few minutes, than it works.
it´s also, when i use it a long time with wifi or 3G....the the phone turns off and i have the boot loop.
but when i take out my sim,it works fine.
my question is,do i need a new sim or is it a hardware problem?
does anybody know?
greetz from germany!
sorry, wrong thread
same here.

i have the exact same problem!! any solution? after that the phone will boot loop over and over! damn!
I had the same problem last week.
I suspected it had to do with the EXT3 partition.
Solved it by first flashing the OTA 2.2 ROM (for rooted users) as this does not use the EXT3. Then used Rom manager to recreate the EXT3.
Now all ROMs that use the EXT3 run fine!
hmmp
as long as i know, i did not install anything on my phone lately so thats the problem so far and i think tequila98 also having the same problem as me, cause when i remove my sim card the phone works fine. but ive reset my phone yesterday and not restarting so far hope this will continue.
I really wished there was a dead fix to this problem we are all having!
My problem:
My phone was running fine until a few weeks ago. There was no rebooting problems when I first got my phone (April) and when I flashed my phone for the first time (May). Happened a few weeks ago when I was browsing on YouTube where my phone suddenly restarted on it's own.
Before it was once a couple of days, now it has gotten more frequent and annoying.
I don't think the heat is the problem because I don't go on the internet much because of my data plan. I use wifi when I browse the web, youtube, etc. And I certainly don't use Google maps or any heavy duty applications. That's just what I think...
My phone rebooted 3 times today in a time span of 4 hours? I noticed that my phone rebooted itself when I use the camera to take a picture or video. Doesn't happen everytime, but that's what happened today. Also, when my phone rebooted today, my application Advanced Task Killer was automatically removed from my phone! That was weird... But I experienced another reboot even after having the app removed.
I really hope someone can find the core of this problem and fix it!
My phone is running on DeFroST 2.0b Android 2.2
My battery stats: 42% for display, 26% for cell standby, 21% for phone idle, 4% for android system, 3% for voice calls, 2% for android OS

It's probably hardware problem with motherboard. Therefore I recommend you to take your phone to repair center and they should replace mobo with new one. That's what I did and now everything is ok.
I am having the exact same problem. Seems to be related to the SIM.
But the SIM works fine in another phone.
Did anyone find any more information?
If you get random reboots its most likely ther motherboard there is a massive thread about it on the forums. You need to send it off to a HTC repair centre.
Just got this problem.
I rooted yesterday. Today I made a nandroid backup. After that the phone is in a reboot loop.
How is this possible from just and backup???
Tnx.

Edit:
Restored backup and is working fine again.

I will try it. Maybe the backup is not only a backup but also a remove? Strange.
I will comment if this works also for me.
EDIT: Restore helps

[Q] All Apps stopped working unexpectedly...

Hey guys,
the strangest thing since i'm using android happened to me right now.
I realized that my DHD starts to lag after 2-3 days, a reboot fixes it, (USB debugging always enabled) but that's not the problem :=)
so i wanted to restart!
all apps stopped working unexpectedly....
really everything, launcher, there are masses of popups coming up, no idea what really happened.
the only thing i know, htc sense seemed to work (i was so intelligent to try to start launcherpro, which created a default shortcut, so then everything including launcher pro stopped working, no chance to to anything (usb connection not detected... nothing)
popups just reoccur directly after clicking them away. no idea at all.
i found this:same problem on another phone @xda
but there hasn't been a solution too.
so i just wanted to tell anyone out there experiencing the same with a dhd.
u're not alone.
i'm reflashing. (another rom, it was revolution hd 3, but i think its not rom related - but i have to mention, the stock rom - used for 2 months before- never had anything similar - rev. hd was just in use for a few weeks now (1 or 2).

update:
guys this really suckz, i dont know whats different with my DHD and the combination of revolution HD rom, but this is the second time this happened!
the first time, i realized (not as written above) i was using rev. HD 2.1
now it was on 3.0
i know, there's a 3.1 out there, but i really dont want to test it.. something's really strange here? (same error happened another time :===/)
I suggest you to reset your Desire HD
thanks,

Problem solved on my HTC HD2
Just solve the problem on my HTC HD2 applications force to stop error, no need to soft of hard reset required no need to update or re-install ROM, Go to Manu >Rome Manager ( My version is v4.8.1.3 > Utilities > TAP ON Fix permissions ( Fix file system permissions, this often fixes force close problems) after waiting few minutes reboot and enjoy ...............

[Q] Wifi freezing even after os changes and hardresets

Hi there !
My Xperia S has been quiet slower ever since the problem appear, the wifi wouldn't turn on, button just freezes trying to work.
I have changed several custom roms and kernels and nothing worked sometimes a normal factory reset let the wifi work for 1 day (I thought that this will exclude the hardware problem ?). I know the tricks that consists into wiping the data\misc\dhcp directory but this won't work neither; I really can't see what is wrong; do you guys have any idea ? So if hardware though i don't think it's that wich piece is it ? (i've taken evrything out of my phone cleaned and reassembled but nothin made it .. :/ ) and if software, which firmware is the right one ?
(by the way XDA is just great)
Thanks
