is there any way to put more items from the calender on the main screen? the most i ever see is 2 items, i would like to see more stuff for today and days with little or nothing i would like to see a couple from the next day. i have take the date, tasks and message off the main page but still just 2 items from the calender show up.
thanks in advance,
bob

how would it compare to Calender+?
apps like pocket breeze is exactly wat u need. it is more powerful than diary and skinnable too
spb vs pocket breeze
all in all both these aps are good. really depends how you like to set your PDA up. Pocket breeze is very good in terms of customising your screen with good functionality. Personaly I like my screen clear and easy to read. With pocket breeze I find it simply clogs up my screen. if you are looking for a free app then Calender + is the way to go!
What I use is SPB diary. UI is easy, simple and clear. It can be intergrated with pocket informat (which in opinion every pda should have). pocket informat can take some time to get used to as its indepth and has a lot of features.
Other Apps I would recommend:
Avantgo
Netfront
Omega Pocket Mechanic
Phat Notes
Microsoft Voice
Resco Explorer
Resco Photo
SkTools
Skype
Soti Pocket Contoller
SPB Bench Mark
SPB Finance
SPB GPRS
SPB Keyboard
SPB Pocket Plus
SPB Time
SPB Weather
Sprite Backup
Tweaks 2k2
Xcpuscalar
As I said It depends what you use your pda for and what kind of functionality you want. Enjoy!!!!!
thanks for all the info. for the time being i have calender + on it and it is working excellent and does everything i want. just want simple and clear as it will be going on my wifes sx66 soon too. i use mine as the "beta" sx66 and when i decide it is pretty stable and easy to use, i put it on hers
i will look into the other products, probably won't go any weather software, i live in phx,az, usa which is the desert, so we get about 300+ days of sunshine, and now since it is summer, it will be ~100F+ for the next 90-100days
Bob - you still need a weather forecaster.
"Jan - Dec: Vijay555 will be enjoying rain in London"
It'll get monotonous, but at least I know you'll be thinking of me

haha, the weather forecast here is like it will be hot for the next 3-5mos with a slight chance of rain and electrical storms in august and numerous golfers will be struck by lightning. then the weather forecasters will be like it has been 110F+ for 31 days straight with 3% humidity, no clouds have been spotted in 45 days.......

what does alarm today do?
alarmtoday shows you your upcoming calendar appointments, but also clock alarms, birthdays, you can make quite handwritten notes to yourself (eg "switch off cooker" in +5 mins from now etc)..
Try it out, I couldn't live without it.

i would like to know that too. also, could you please list the used apps on your today screen
No problem, I have Spb PocketPlus installed with the bare minimum components for the today screen plug-in. Then on my first "Home" Page I have unlocked HTC Home (you have to do this to place it on a tabbed page of Spb) then under it is the meters that come with PocketPlus. Then on the next page I have rlToday with a skin I made and will attach to this post for any that would like to use it. Then the next tab is SBSH PocketWeather 2.0.5 that I slightly modified from the PhatPhinger skin you can find one there site. Then the next page is just a app launcher page that zips me to any of the apps that I use a lot. I have sense added a 5th page that has Windows Live and Windows Live Search plug-ins on it. The good thing is that even with all this loaded and running CRC's v12r6 6.1 ROM, I still have 42.58M Storage and 22.46M Program mem left. And I have a lot of other stuff installed as well.
Thanks for asking about my screens and if I can be of any other help just let me know.
thanks a lot!
one more question: how do you unlock HTC Home? i apologize if it's a stupid question, but i really don't know...
There is a CAB file on this forum somewhere that is HTC Home Customizer that lets you unlock it.
Looking to make my hermes more "user friendly".... What have you found that makes it easier/faster to use?
I mainly use mine at work, need to take notes, phone numbers, drawings, pictures... I send pictures via email, mms..

Nice, thanks. Although I notice that in my HD is not fully working, I'm not able to get to contacts and I can only see one soft-button at the bottom, while I remeber from use on my old tytnII there were 2. Also the access to call history iw WAY slow. However is super-fast, hope they will preserve this speed for 2.0, it seems a capacitive screen!

Tried it on X1 and it works! Really cool, although some of the background images aren't large enough. Can't wait for version 2 to come out.
Hi,
I have no idea what is this program for...
But the first screen looks like that is some quality 800x480 background. So this program can really use WVGA wallpapers ? It doesnt resize them like TF3D ?
can i use this on other panel? (not today panel)
thanks so much~!
p.s. use in X1
Works fine on my X1. With Today Panel as well as with TF3D Panel! Now a panel version (start PointUI, and on panel switch end it again) would be nice...
Used it now for nearly half a day and no real bugs found yet.
BTW: the PointUI site is down...since when? Is PointUI2 coming?

I need to present a Winmobile Twitter client, and have stumbled over PockeTwit http://code.google.com/p/pocketwit/.
But how does one control it on the HD? There is no menu on the twits screen. FYI I read that with 5-minute updates set it generates around 5MB of mobile traffic per day.
Recommendations for any other client?
Update: Ah, I got it - the twits list needs to be finger dragged to left or right, and reveals the menu items. Of course, its a touch device

twitter
Hello. I searched for a good twitter client for a while now but not found a client that runs smoothly. pocketwit works best of them I found, but im not satisfied with it. Is there anyone who found something better?
I used to use Pockettwit - loved the interface, found it a joy to use - but bloated
I use cetwit

Works well on the HD, set the dpi to 67 under themes/notifications and activate avatars!

having issues with Cetwit - have moved along to 'tiny twitter'
pocketwit seems like the best twitter of all on windows mobile right now. i tried tinytwitter but it doesn't update properly
Pockettwit is great. A flip to the left and you have lots of menu, a flip to the right, even more options. Great for twittering, and the bugs are being worked out as we speak.

using twikini also, seems solid and finger friendly
tried twickini - not impressed - even in small font the text for each twitter goes off screen so you have to choose that specific twitter to read the full text.
Also, fastest update setting is every 5mins, which doesnt feel anything like quick enough.
on the plus side, it loads quickly and doesnt appear to use much memory. i'll be sticking with pockettwit though.
List keeps growing, here's a nice home plugin for WM: TwitToday - twit directly from your home screen or Secondtoday (if you use no other GUI).
http://dalelane.co.uk/page.php?id=1047
+1 to Twikini. Just does what it says in the tin ! Perfect for me
and another for twikini. written in c it seems much more responsive and an update is out in the next couple of days.
Wow. Listen. I have bought a brand new HTC Touch HD, which I'm starting to like.... But 2 major problems:
1) ActiveSync suddenly wasn't working anymore.
2) I couldn't open my attachments when receiving e-mails.
3) Twikini wasn't updating properly anmore.
Alright, point 3 is an easy fix:
After uninstalling Twikini, point 1 and 2 are both resolved!
How sick is that? Wow. Hate Twikini from now on (it was the latest version). Alright, i know what Beta means, but hey, don't mess with my other applications!
Did you try a hard reset before start using the device?
Twikini runs well on my numerous times flashed TouchHD and Treo Pro.
Giving feedback to developer would give better results rather than just hate an application while the problem lays probably somewhere else
pocket twit
i go with pocketwit as twikini doesn't have a search feature. Also you have to pay for twikini yes i know its dirt cheap, but they aint having my cc details.
However since flashing the latest energy 6.5 rom pocke twit will not work. Anybody know any solutions?
Twikini as well for me.
PocketTwit is ok but a bit heavy in terms of footprint. TinyTwitter is good but it doesn't close the process when the app is closed which is painful. Bit annoying..twikini is my shout!
Twikini....
Hi guys,
Ive been using Twikini for a while now, and have tried others.
I highly recomend this app, and is very easy to use.
Hey all
I have an idea for a Vista skin, but I haven't got the skills needed to code it myself.
I therefore need a coder. I've made all the graphics needed - please see below!
Look here for my preview:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As stated before, I've recreated Vistas look from the ground and up, using Photoshop. Therefore, all elements are ready for slicing and implementing!
// PREHISTORY //
I saw the skin "VistaMaximus" for iPhone, and thought that we could use something similiar for our Windows Mobile devices. The Vista skins I found for the HTC Touch HD were ok, but not exactly what I was looking. And I'd be damned if some iPhone-teenager shows up with a fancier Windows Vista skin, than my Windows Mobile phone can't best!!
// I TRIED...//
Well, the MaxTTM can do a LOT, so I gave it a try. However, it can't do nearly enough to make this skin (or I'm just a dork using it).
I'm experienced in making homescreens for the Windows Mobile 2003/2005 devices (coding my own XML-files from the ground), but I have no idea how to hack the TouchFlo3D interface, which this is propably all about...
// FUNCTIONS //
=> Having been inspired by the iPhone, the 3 dots in the bottom, indicates a "finger swipe"-navigation. It should lead to icon pages for the programs you have installed.
- This isn't the most important, as applications could be accessed from the windows button.
=> Implementing weatherapp and a note taking app on the frontpage is pretty crucial.
=> The calender on the frontpage should be removed automatically, if no events occurs on this day or the next day (smiliar to stock skin behavior).
// MY THOUGHS ABOUT THE CODING //
One could do this skin as a program, like the iPhone skin for Windows Mobile, iFonz/iFonz2. However, this will propably result in a very slow and sluggish performance?
I don't know too much about this however.
// Please help me out here... //
If anyone here's got the needed coding skills and want to help me with this skin, please PM me!
I will keep this thread updated on the status of this skin.
Reserved for future usage.
jeez looks promising
will be a must if it is finally released
maybe would of been better trying to go with windows 7 skin and not vista...
this looks very good...I hope you will make this
Thanks - A coder still haven't looked at this, unfortunately...
- Regarding a Windows 7 skin - sure, when the Vista one is done... For now, I like the Vista skin the most, because functionality and looks works very nice with the HD screen.

All of what you have In mind can be done with Wisbar Advance Desktop 2 over at Lakeridge http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/index.php
Thanks - yeah, I'm currently googling my keyboard keyless, and I found Wisbar Desktop 2 an hour ago.
I'm still investigating the hows - as far as I can see; if I make a skin using it, the skin will require the users to also install Wisbar Desktop 2 - and to eventually buy it (in order to use the WAD2-files)? Is that correct understood?

Yes thats correct, I used to use it till I came over to TouchFLO but from what your after it's the only way I can see it could be done. Other than that your asking for a complete OS rebuild.
*sigh*, whatever happened to the good old WM5/2003 days, when we could make our own homescreens by just making an XML-file and some pics?
These overlay solutions - WD2, SPB MS2 etc. - are bound to be damn slow, compared to if it was possible to do themes that one could choose instead of TF3D.
Really good, I love your note in the preview picture about Piano lesson
Anyway, hope you will make it
Fantastic!!! I wish, I could help you...
Can't wait!!!
Greets and best wishes
Damn, I've tried for days now, to find a developer suite to make this skin. I really want it, and I've realized, that I'll have to program it myself.
But first of all, I need a coding environment. Visual Studio is too expensive, and the free Express doesn't support Windows Mobile.
So, anyone have suggestions what to do?
