O2 Site Update with Exec ROM :
http://www.my-xda.com/xdaexec_soft.html
Is this a new ROM or O2 providing it as a download to fix peoples devices when they corrupt them?
well spotted a18041967!!!
Upload to XDA FTP server
Can an O2 user upload this rom to the xda-developers server please?
It's the initial release ROM, so it's the same as the one all XDA Execs are being shipped with.
It has (I checked):
OS 1.13.48 WWE (Older than Jasjar, which is 1.13.53)
Extended 1.13.139
Radio 1.04.02 (same as Dopod, was already on FTP)
you can enter any imei
do you think if i have the jas jar rom installed i will be able to override it with the exec rom
sure ... just use the patched exe for upgrade.
i'm thinking of using ROM from jasjar, ExtRom from O2 and the radio from O2
can someone tell us what's installed on the O2 exec by default ?
is it better or worse than the JasJar ?
The only thing that really is different from the Jasjar rom is the O2 Active UI, and we all know that is very unstable.
Most Exec users end up using basic or corporate install, which is comparable to pressing the reset button after a hard reset and thus bypassing the extended rom setup.
I did no different then anyone else in that matter. I selected basic install. The Jasjar OS also is a tad newer, so unless you are a sucker for the O2 layout and style, I'd say stick with the Jasjar.
(I'm a sucker for the O2 styling so I will probably end up combining the Jasjar OS and the O2 ExtRom ;-))
Just be aware: The Jasjar Extended rom will set your boot logo to the I-Mate one, the O2 Extended rom will NOT set it to the O2 one! It does not contain splash.nb files!

Just rename it to zip, extract it, delete ms_.nbf and nk.nbf (the only NBF file you need to leave is radio.nbf), use the MAUpgrade_NoID.exe file and flash your radio. You will not even lose your settings or installed programs
Ok, here's my findings so far, I took delivery of my XDA Exec and all was OK, foolishly I decided to upgrade to the Imate ROM.
After the upgrade I experienced continual problems connecting to my WiFi, and was unable to get the Wireless modem to work.
Today I reverted back to the o2 ROM, both the WiFi & Modem issues have been resolved.

Wiz,
I have the MDA PRO with JasJar ROM I have just upgraded to the Radio Version 1.04.02. Everything is fine. Now I have a QUestion:
If I hard reset my device and bypass the Extended ROM install does it mean tha my Boot screen will not become the one from imate ??. I thought the splash.nb files are in the ROM and not in the Extended ROM. I have tryed to find the Boot Screen image in the cab files of the JasJar Extende ROM and I can not find anything?
Any Ideas
got myelf the brand new O2 Trion AKA Hermes / TyTn
How do I unlock the extended Rom? Nothing seems to work by now. Also, I guess that I will be able to put my hands on an english ROM soon, either from here or from my own resources. How do I remove the CID lock?
Use Total Commander and type in on the Address Bar on the top
\Extended_ROM
I am using Dopod 9000 English ROM.
Hi,
I'm using the official Dopod WM6 ROM on SuperCID Hermes300. I've unlocked and unhided my Extended ROM manualy according to the wiki. My extended ROM is accessable, but every time I install a program and softreset my device the extended ROM gets corrupted and al or some files on it disappear! Even the pre-installed dopod cabs. One time softreseting even bricked my device and I had to reflash it.
I've found out that this due to the fact that the driver in wm6 doesn't correct bad sectors in the extended ROM.
Does anybody know a solution for this problem?
Files in the ExtROM must be read-only! If aren't make them!
cheers,
dan
After installing de WM6 Official ROM and applications my Storage Memory was only 17MB so i decided to make a new extended rom.
Tools:
meschle 2MB extended rom
WinImage
dutty's & htc tools
original extended rom
Removed:
MP_TT6_Voice26_PTG.CAB (900KB) – TomTom Voices
MP_ttn_8320 (5.629KB).CAB – TomTom Navigator
(I already have TomTom in SD card)
Storage Memory after flashing 27MB.
Because i’m a complete newie let’s wait and see ... i’m crossing my fingers.
For this reason i don’t post the extended rom file. If a newie like me can make it i believe everybody can
Can anyone comment on the Advanced Configuration Tool V1.1 Schap's 2007, included in OCTAIVOI 6.0 Rom. The Miscellaneous (Misc) tab has options to "Show Extended ROM" and "Unlock Extended ROM".
When I check these, I cannot detect that the ACT v1.1 actually changes anything on my device. I can use the Windows Service Tool V 4.2.1 by Mestrini to actually make the extended ROM visible. I can also format the extended ROM from WST 4.2.1. On my T-Mobile MDA running Octaivoi V6 the ExtRom is then displayed as Extended_ROM2 in the root directory of my device. I can write some, but not all files to the Extended_ROM2 directory, but cannot then delete them - only by using WST to format the ExtRom again. So, it appears that the Extended ROM is not truly unlocked.
I was hoping to regain the extra 9-10 Mb for program installation (not just CAB storage). Anybody else tried this, or found a solution to truly/fully unlock the Extended ROM region on the HTC Wizard? If so please post and PM me. May also send direct to [email protected] if you don't mind.
THANKS - you all ROCK!
Mike
I am also looking for one. Even I am unable to format my extended rom using WST for my device O2 XDA Mini S.........
