Oakley O ROKR - General Accessories

Anyone know if these support A2DP? They suggest buying NAVIPLAY for ipod bluetooth support. The NAVIPLAY makes the ipod Bluetooth Stereo so i'm guessing the O ROKRs support A2DP but anyone know for sure?

HP's bluetooth headphones

Hi,
ok... well... I've been wondering... has anyone bought HP's new bluetooth headphones, and if so, how is it going? Most importantly, does HP's software work on a MDA II/III? I would really love to get them, but I don't want to buy something that won't work... Also, I have a bluetooth dongle on my desktop that I would like to make work with these headphones... I use Linux and bluez, which seems to support A2DP... but has anyone tried that yet? Does it work with Windows?

As these look like the best ones out at the moment...
not saying they are better, but i have got the motorola ht820, and am very happy.

I would love to use my HT820's with my MDA PRO
As far as I know, know patch or fix yet.
Lucky I have an MDA Compact as well and have a bodged bluetooth stack for a2dp works a dream.
Carrying 2 phones.
Lucky for me contract up for renewal next month so will look for a device or phone with a2dp support.

they are supplied with a detatchable cable cable for non-bluetooth audio.
headphones have 2.5mm headphone socket and come with a 2.5-3.5mm stereo cable.
(now looking for a 2.5-2.5 stereo cable)

is there a release date for that? a quick google didnt show much..
microsoft has already issued AKU 2.0 to the OEM. it's the OEMs turn to implement it in the ROM updates and release it to the end users. check with your OEM as to the release date and post back.
thanks,
approx Mid March for AKU2
Just so you guys know, it is out in QTEK flavor.

Hope they're nearly as good sound quality unwired as wired, coz they sound FANTASTIC. Never though they'd be as good as my Sony MRD-EX71's.....
EDIT: Not quite as good as wired, but damn close. I'm a happy bunny - upgrade went without a hitch, as long as I followed the one in the wiki! Now to go grab all my O2 settings....
Jabra BT620, just got them....they're amazing.... only problem is my Sony Ericsson k750i doesnt let me hear audio on the headphones just phone calls...any ideas on how I can get a2dp or even avrcp on that phone?

[Q] Dr. Dre Beats Tour ControlTalk with Android

Hi All,
I just got a pair of Dr. Dre Beats Tour headphones and the microphone doesn't seem to work with my Android phone. I tried searching a lot and can't seem to find a lot of information on this apart for a few posts with very few details. Does anybody know if there is a way to get the microphone to work? I am currently running Android 2.1.
Thanks!
Has nobody else here run into this issue?

Gonna go ahead and guess this is spam, seeing as you have 1 post... and I said in my first message that I searched a lot but wasn't able to find anything useful.
You probably won't find that much information about this topic, well not useful information anyways. As far as i know, the tour doesn't work on a lot of android phones. The ones we have tested on are, Desire and wildfire. The reseller where we got the headphones from claims that the tour works with Nexus one, however i have not tested it. It would be interesting to know if other brands work...
P.s my beats studio works on all android phones with 3.5mm plug... and i have no idea why as physically, the plug is exactly the same.
Thanks for the info. Yep, I think it has something to do with the ControlTalk features on the cable... I tried my brother's Beats Solo, which came with the same ControlTalk cable, and they also didn't work.
I have an HTC Aria by the way. Just tried with Cyanogen 2.2 and also not working. Seems like we should be able to figure out a way to make this work, especially if it works on the Nexus One... they are both HTC phones after all. I wonder if there's a special driver for it installed on the Nexus One?
No dice on my Evo with my DiddyBeats. Wish I could take them back.
I actually got a Samsung Captivate and the mic works! Plus and minus controls don't, but at least I can answer/hang up/pause music and use the microphone.
And the answer is....
monstercable dot com (directory) mp3 (directory) controltalkworks
check your phone!
list...
Hmm the list is not very up to date....

No htc phones here...
UPDATE: there is hope

click on 4th tab universal controltalk, more comp. devices....!!
Hi guido!
I am in the similar situation...
Have you found a solution to make it work??
I can confirm that controltalk does not work with the Epic 4G either. I am running NebulaROM 2.2.1, and was using the beats solo HDs. Looks like the controltalk universal is the only solution. If I find a place to purchase them online, I'll post links.
I can confirm too. I've got the diddybeats with controltalk and hangup doesn't work. But audio control works (play/pause, next/previous). The mic seems to be work too, but i must hangup manually on the phone.
yea i have the solos and i had the ibeats and the controltalk doesnt work on any android phones it sucks cuz now i have to pull my headphones off and pull the plug out to answer a call on my mt4g running cyanogen mod 7 nightly
This is wider than the Beats Tour.... I have in front of my original Nexus One headset, my Dad's Galaxy S headset, and my Beats Tour with Control Talk.
I call the landline and then used each headset in turn. Only the mic on my original Nexus One headset works!
On the Beasts, the Control Talk button muted and un-muted the call, but no mic!
At the black rings on all the plugs all line-up, I assume it's a driver issue?
At least my Beats work with my iPad....
Can't get the Monster iBeats with ControlTalk or the Etymotic Research HF3 headphones to work with my HTC Desire Z.
FWIW, the inline mic adapters (i.e. Shure Music Adapter microphone, Griffin Smart Talk) allow all the above headsets to work. I had the Shure Music Adapter for my noise-cancelling Sony headphones. I haven't tried to control music, but the inline mic definitely works for calls. The answer / disconnect controls work on the Griffin, haven't accidently hit the button on the Shure yet.
Yes, it does defeat the purpose of the inline mic on the headset and it is a lot of extra cord to deal with... but oh well, its a work around until someone figures it out.
It may be something with powering the inline controls which the HTC phones don't support. If it were a driver issue, I think someone on this forum would have solved it.
HTH,
Ken
what a crock... the mic is totally usable on my POS work curve 8520, but not my android desire z.
epic monster #fail... so pissed.
does anyone know if the original dre beats tour headphones microphone works?

hello, everyone ,I am damjy,it is my first post in this forum,I think it is necessary to make a short introduction,Don't you think so?I am a new member and I join in you just now,I am so glad to be here.Have a good time .
IIRC while reading thru the Head-fi forums, the beats are designed to be compatible for iphones.
IMHO, if you are looking for quality sounding headphones, just stay away from Dre Beats, Diddy beat, Bieber beats, GaGa beats, Ludicris new phones or even Bose. They suck, overpriced and just really great marketing and branding like Apple,
I use Panasonic HJE-900 and Custom Shelled TF10 myself.
Guys,
I think the ones you are after are the 'Controltalk UNIVERSAL'.
The standard 'controltalk' is designed for the Apple products I think.

Sony Mirrorlink Car Stereo

I have been reading about this car stereo since CES and cant wait to purchase it. Though I can't find any information on whether the Galaxy Nexus will be compatible with the app. It was announced that the SGIII would receive it but has anyone heard about the G Nex getting it? If not, hopefully the dev community will be able to port it over...Here is a link to the actual stereo...

Why not get this one...

It runs on android is btw.
Double din comes out later this year.
Sent from my Maguro
I considered that one before the Sony one was announced. I like that I would possibly be able to control Rdio on a large screen and it connect to my steering wheel controls (with an added accessory) and not have to fumble with my phone. Plus the option of my passengers being able to watch DVD's and Netflix is pretty cool.
Ya that would be nice for em. As far as the release and the features of the double din I'm not positive but its in the works. I work at a car audio shop and we had a webinar with them and said it was gonna be bahdass. Also the pioneer aporadio 2 has HDMI output and has optional MHL cable for android
... also it would be sick if it were possible to root and develop a custom from for a radio. Seems interesting not sure if source would be available though lol. I know they had updates on there sight but don't remember seeing code. They gotta give us something though
Sent from my Maguro
Ah yeah it would be amazing to have a custom rom on a car stereo.
I just need a stereo that I can control Rdio and a few other music apps from so I can get over not needing/wanting the pogo car dock...
Not sure about the Sony you are talking about since the company I work for doesn't carry it but anything with Bluetooth a2dp is the way to go as far as android goes the USB interface sucks for android devices reads ringtones and pretty much every audio file there is as well as shows every folder you have. Not to mention I can't connect to a single deck through USB because of mtp . So yeah. I would highly recconend actually testing the head unit you are interested in and make sure it works the way you want it to because car audio is pretty depressing when it comes to android compatability
Sent from my Maguro
Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. I will wait for a local car audio store here in Houston to have one on display first.
Ya that's definitely the way to go about it. like I said car audio hasn't shown android no love... everything is made for apple -.-

Awesome, Houston here too. I have been looking for more info on Mirrorlink as well. I started this thread trying to gather some, but not much headway has been made. I cancelled my EVO 4G LTE because it was not advertised with Mirrorlink compatibility. Waiting for Sprint to get the SIII next month hopefully.
http://www.mp3car.com/android-table...ink-xav601bt-701hd-android-ish-head-unit.html
I am very interested in this myself and since Nokia is the most supported brand I am hoping that we will see some Windows Phone compatibility in the near future. I did think it was pretty funny that all the phones supported except one were Symbian though, I thought Symbian was on the outs.
FYI the XAV-601BT is out now.
But nobody reviewed that device yet
Has anyone tried pairing a mirrorlink enabled phone to the head unit and test it out? Im planning to buy this head unit in the next quarter so i'd like some advices.

HI, just as an alternative, i bought the Alpine ICS X8 with mirror link, as yet it doesnt support my galaxy s3...
The Sony XAV-601BT just received a firmware update (get it at the Sony support site) that adds support for the Galaxy S3. I can't tell you much about it as I have the Nexus. Hopefully some ROM devs start to incorporate MirrorLink into their OS builds. From what I read in another thread, it isn't as easy as just getting the APK from the S3.
