I-Mate PDAL

This is my first post here! I apologize in advance if the section is wrong. The problem here is that I have an I-MATE PDAL. I have been trying everything to "unhide" and Unlock the ExtROM.
It would be very thankful if anyone could guide me to this.

It cannot be unlocked, but surely can b unhide.Pls search forum/wiki..the solution works..tested by me.before doing this, pls read the manual as how to hard reset, as u might like to do.

noob i'm afraid.

I'm wanting to get WM6.1 on my Orange (UK) SPV M3100, so i'm following the instructions at http://www.mrvanx.org/thg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=26
My question is:
There appears to be hundreds of roms to download.
Which one should I download?

NOT on topic or helpfull, better off NOT posting at all sir. We were all noobs once.
@djsky123, take some time to read through the threads in this forum and familiarise yourself with the ROMs currently alive....CRCs, PDAcorner and MRH seem to be the current ROMs in progress..

I think CRC's ROM is probably the best in existence...
I might have a little bit of bias though
Seriously though, have a read through what is included on the ROMs and see what fits your personal tastes...
Just make sure you flash your device with HardSPL first to prevent future tears...

Well, yeah... i took the plunge and did your 6.1 release 11.2 (hope you don't mind).
Seems good so far. - The wife's asking when my grandad died though.. took a bit of explaining why I had someone elses on my phone...
Thanks for welcoming me, and I'm sure i'll be on here over the coming months.

On the first few pages of this whole list there is a kitchen to make your own splash screen, or even some have posted stock screens that some people pulled out, enjoy xda, it's the coolest place for your hermes.

it really is. but a warning to you, READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!! knowledge is power in this forum (it works as currency too)

Can I Just ask, now that i've flashed my hermes with a new rom, is it now un-locked so that I can insert sim cards from other networks in it? I was on orange UK but want to use an O2 sim in there at some point.

Dear Ian,
I cannot tell which ROM to flash because it depends on MANY things... Nevertheless i can tell you a few things thay will help you...
1. Read the Flashers BIBLE i.e. the WIKI.
2. Never, but NEVER mess or tamper with our PDA unless you are sure of what you'r doing BEFORE you do it. If your are not sure ask before.
3. Never pay attention to flames or stupid answers. You will get quite a few over here...
4. I was oncve a noob and i know how it feels to e stepingon muddy watters.
5. If you feel you get no positive answer to your questions, PM me at will and i will try to help.

no you need to run an unlocker not flash the radio you can get the unlocker for the hermes from here if its a g3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665

first of all do Hardspl, this will unlock your device too.
remember - when you flash any official rom you automaticaly erase hardspl. suggest you to try some pdaviet roms, for noob they are very nice. but if you need stability - try pda corner e.t.c. by the way - Im using spv too

When you get to a ROM-specific issue, it is best to post in the specific thread for that ROM (helps keep the forums organized and helps you get an answer more quickly)

6.2 is oldd.. the newest version is 11.2, maybe you should try flashing that and seeing if it is fixed.

(hard) SPL? Can someone describe?

Hello,
i am nearly new to flashing PPCs. I flashed my old Motorola Handy before severaltimes, so i am not a complete newbie.
I read many threads here and i always recorgnize the word hard-SPL.
Because i dont know this word, i cannot start to flash and try.
Can someone describe, whats hard-spl means/is?
I already searched the forum and google, but i did not see a matching topic.

Now explain why.
I was asking the same question to myself some weeks ago.
I did a lot of searching founding anything interesting.
Some users report better stability with 1.93 although the 1.40 seems still the most reliable.
I am stuck to 1.40, feeling happy with it and lazy to upgrade/test.
However, if someone could list the technical differences between these two versions it will be much appreciated.

That thread is very complex, but, this thread is very simple? "olinex 1.93 vs. 1.40"

And if everyone was allowed a thread in ROM development instead of re-using the existing ones, no-one would ever find anything .

Since we've established that you do not have a Rhodium, then I doubt you'll get much help from this area of the forum as this is the device we're discussing here. Either ask your question in the Main General forum since your device has no home on XDA, or in the thread that drkfngthdragnlrd mentioned.
