A2SD+ would be nice tho! I have tried quite a few roms but would like to hear others opinions beforre I go to any more. I know it all comes down to personal preference but im just trying to find the best rom for battery life and smoothness, which shouldnt be as much of a preference thing.. Any responses will be much appreciated, thanks!

I'm sorry to tell you that no answer is going to help you at all.
All ROMs work well, the developers do a fantastic job, and the differences between ROMs depends more on what you are looking for or "what your desire likes more" than on the ROM itself. There are no slow or laggy builds (except the betas) so the best answer is: try - nandroid - try another until you find the one that works better for you.
By the way, I think you should look for stock Sense ROMs like InsertCoin or LeeDroid, not ports
And again a (senseless) best-rom thread....
SwiftKeyed from Oxygen with Transparent XDA App

Best ROM?... You decide which is best for you... err your friend... Go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318 to see them listed.
Enjoy!
Tell us a bit about what kind of experience does your friend need?
Speed? Customization? Stability?
he has the stock rom on his phone... i think he wants a full fixed rom with more smooth and speed than stock! thanks!
ps. what's the way to flash rom on this phone? =)
Well, everything is better than stock, believe me! It's a matter of choice, but more ppl prefer Cyanogen, because it's a who organisation of developers and many hours of hard work behind it, it sure is pretty complete. I'd suggest taht, but he shoudl check out all of the available roms, as danny said, it's a matter of choice.
First of all, you have to decide if you want Sence rom or something else.
The best sence rom is probably RemPuzzleRom, its faster, but it looks nearly the same as stock.
other good option is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458749 i've tried it and it is really fast and stable, looks like vanilla android 2.3.7, there is also stock android launcher.
Cyanogen is also really great rom. Fast, stable and customization is the best.
If you want something on the edge. I'm using CM9 right now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473344 I thing it is pretty usable, but there might be still some bugs.
I'm wondering what the best ROM for battery life and performance is today?
There's a couple other threads, but they're all from before JB got really popular.
I'm on JB right now, but I'd be happy to switch to something else for better battery life (it's really poor right now) and that's not so... broken.
Advice please? and if there's a good JB ROM for this, enlighten me.
Thanks.

This has been covered already in other threads, but both Evervolv's and CM10 by Pons are extremely stable versions of JB. As far as battery life goes, that'll depend greatly on your usage, but battery life on CM10 is only slightly worse than CM7 was for me, which was 1000x better than stock sense.
TLDR: Try new roms to see what works for you.
As above, this information has been posted before and people's suggestions for ROM's are all in this thread here. Best ROM threads aren't allowed but that thread was allowed to remain for people to share their opinions so please use that as all further best ROM threads will get closed.
Thanks

I have AT&T I317 version, so i posted in wrong forum....cant delete so.....
Hello,
I was i wonder which custom rom would be the best for someone who uses the GN2 for HD quality games/emulators and also gives the best battery performance? I've read about a few like Redpill for example, but im still trying to determine which would be the best for me.
I would like to keep S pen functions.
Thanks.
So I've been running JBSourcery4.4 and have been loving it so far. As of right now I'm wondering about a kernel change with this ROM to maybe improve battery life. Any suggestions would be helpful. So far I've been thinking of tiny kernel. Sorry for the repetitive question but I'm just curious to see what other people have been trying. Thank you.
every device is different so what works for great me wont necessarily work great for you...anyway i have tried ALL kernels and AK has been working the best for me on 4.2.1, link is in my sig
