Latest Orange UK Rom? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

Can anyone tell me which is the latest Orang UK Rom please, and where i can get hold of it. Thanks

So is NOBODY out there using the latest Orange UK Rom?

New ROM
Hi,
If you scrolled down 20 topics you would have saw this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=44362
It has the link to the orange website where you can down load the new rom. It's well worth the download, but i would recommend updating the Radio to 1.0.9 instead of 1.0.3 which comes with it.
The answers are out there just look

Orange Rom
I've been using the UK Orange Rom for about a week and its much better than the O2 Rom - there's significantly more space in the program memory and the push email facility is excellent. It's faster and actually like having a new machine.

M1000 ROM

I'm trying to upgrade my o2 XDA II to an M1000 ROM because I want to se eif it's any better than the O2 one,
Does anyone know where I can get it from? I've searched the forum for hours and have only managed to find a few zip files with the contents of the extended ROM in them.
The differences between operators is what is supplied in the Extended ROM. For example, version 1.72 of the OS is the same on all devices as is version 1.17 of Radio - Unless, of course they are in a different language.
The Extended ROM allows operators to add their own customizations, additional applications and, in some cases, their own fixes.
Hello again,
Hello there, I was under the impression that in the O2 ROM, changes have been made to some of the operating system dll files that control handsfree.
I have a problem getting mp3 audio out of the device when it is in car kit mode and from research on the site, i-Mate and Orange phone owners don't have this problem.
One suggestion was that the handsfree dll had been changed and so I was trying to get a copy of the Orange (UK) Rom as packaged by Orange. (I assume that they do an upgrade file in a similar way to O2.)
I have a copy of the custom 1.72 Orange ROM that ninjadonkey created. It's been pre configured to Orange UK, and its unofficial as Orange are useless at providing decent upgrades! It will be exactly the same as the new O2 upgrade without all the cool extra software (Fonix etc...) that you get from o2 so you're probably best off with what you've got mate!
Ok,
I notice that you have Tom Tom on your device, does that mean you have an in-car kit with it?
If so, can you hear Tom Tom messages through the Kit or does the device insist on playing through device speaker only?
Also, can anyone advise me on how to customise the Windows install in ROM so that the folders are set up as I like them (As with the XDA-Developers SER).
Cheers again.
No, unfortunately TomTom only comes through the device speaker.
grrrrrr! Bloody fiddlers developing in problems!

Can a copy of the custom 1.72 Orange ROM be downloaded from anywhere?
Perhaps it will help with some of the problems I am having with my M1000.
Thanks.
Here you go...
Enjoy at your own risk - works great for me though. This is an unofficial ROM customised for Orange UK by ninjadonkey. You will have issues with country code errors if you choose to upgrade again unless you follow the instructions in dcs's post on country code errors.

Vodafone VPX rom wanted

I've had a look around the FTP but to no avail.
Is there a WWE VPX rom around anywhere, or a link to download one from the voda site? I've tried looking but not found one yet.
Device is PH20B currently on 1.42, 1.13 and O2 ext rom from their latest release.
looking for the same thing for months, no luck either
Is it possible to steal the theme then from the VPA ROM? The cool red and silver one.
What I have done is use the T-Mob 1.42 ROM with the VPA Ext Rom.
The main language was english, but anything that was installed by the ext rom became german - so not much use to me.
yep
did the same thing, does not work well
Lordao
Here you go guys, The Vodafone theme
I've got a German VPX rom. As I'm a lazy muppet can anyone host this for me / walk me through uploading it to the FTP? It's no longer on their site.
Richard
I'm searching for the newst ROM file for the Vodafone VPx..
Rightnow I have
Rom version: 1.22.00 WWE
Rome Date: 10/22/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.155 WWE
I assume it's too old ROM, Where to find the new one?
Should the one for PDA2K or Qtek9090 ROM work on my device??
Waiting for reply
Vodafone WWE Ext ROM..
Downloaded the Vodafone skin posted above, thanks
However does anyone have the UK Vodafone Ext ROM, or even a WWE one from somewhere else? I assume the company specific Ext ROM adds different functionality other than a skin...
Aim is to use most current ROM/Radio on O2 XDA IIs with a vodafone Ext ROM as I'll be using a Vodafone SIM... noticed a German Ext ROM for Vodafone VPAIII dated 140206 on the FTP site, can this be switched to English, and is it compatible with the O2 XDAIIs etc.?
Well a search gave me this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46603&highlight=voda*
The rom is old and not in the wiki list due to the fact nobody cared to add it even though its no the ftp site.
hmmm...

Yip, been there, seen that, but I dont kow how to extract the ext rom stuff from the .exe
So I did search, I did read, but I didn't know what the next step was, hence the reason for asking someone to upload an ext rom to the kitchen other than the GER versions...
OK, went back to the WIKI and now realise that all I need is the ms_.nbf file from the WWE version mentioned above   The question now is, how can I install that with a 1.40/1.42 ROM?
Well you don't
The Ext rom conmsits of apps and patches that are made for a rom version.
The apps are no problem the patches are as they will over write the files that have most likely been updated in the new rom.
(As in BT stack in 1.22 ships as 1.xx in the rom,
got updated to 1.xy in the ext rom
and the rom 1.40 its now 1.yy.
Run the ext rom then you are back to 1.xy)
So if you want to have the same carrier related stuff on a none same carrier rom then you save the cabs of the ext rom before you upgrade.
As for the vodaphone thing, well we have had no ship roms in the 1.4x family and no wwe ext roms uploaded. So what ever you want to do you have yourself.
BA kitchen goes into that in more detail I know as I wrote it.
Almost there... (Thanks to the Wiki & Forum)!
OK, finally took the plunge...
O2 XDAIIs arrived yesterday, Rom 1.31... updated straight away to the O2 update from there site (available on this site Xda_IIs_Upgrade_v140242.exe) and all went well... I then added a Vodafone skin but that wasn't really good enough It meant I still had the O2 Active gubbins all over my PDA which is of course no use...
Long night ahead I thought... and I was right
I now have the 1.42 CE ROM with the 1.15 Radio ROM and a cooked version of the Vodafone German EXT_ROM with many of the items replaced with the most current items from the Kitchen!
I still have a few niggles... double entries of files etc such as Windows media player, album etc (1 GER, 1 WWE) but the GER ones crap out and the WWE ones work... all I need to do now is work out which bits are installed by what in the original stuff and I should be able to sort it...
I have one request... could someone please post the UK Vodaphone version of the CAB which sets up the Vodafone Live! stuff? my vodafone live is all screwed up and looking for German stuff...
I will keep you informed in a new thread as to how my continued conversion goes!
Thanks to all who have updated the forum/Wiki it has been no end of help and I have a hybrid set of roms, with a cooked ext_rom and fully functional WiFi/BT/GPRS/MMS witin 24 hrs of receiving my XDA and taking the plunge... major kudos to you all!
As MDAUSERIII says... read the Wiki, and all will become clear!
Try this http://www.vodafone-dataworld.co.uk/uploads/BA_VF_UK_14000_238_11300_Ship.exe
Nice link
How did you get to that file so I can post it to wiki.
Where'd you find that!?!?!

Awesome link! D/Ling just now... then reflash (again!)
I'm now in a bit of a quandry... having finally got a data enabled device (BA as opposed to my mobile and Palm T3) I am now looking to use my data services more, but I have looked around for the best deals (I use PAYG) and it looks to be between O2 and Orange... the price of data on Vodafone is just too damned high...
I'l load this up and see how it goes first... thanks for your help

hi
whats up with the radio rom version on this update???
1.03??? thats so 2005!!!
I've just completed the update and my first impresions are good.
My earlier issues thought to be radio ( delay in ringing, poor signal etc ) seam to be no more with this update.
Hiya all,
Does anyone know if I can use the Orange SPV-M5000 ROM update on my T-Mobile MDA-Pro (and get rid of the T-Mobile simlock )
Thanks!
Yes you can use it on your MDA but you will not get rid of your sim lock

Bummer.... :? just hoped it would be simlocked for Orange then 8)
Just wondering if the phone has been unlocked would updating to this new ROM re-lock it? Is it worth updating to this ROM, I have 1.13.49 WWE.
No I don't think so from what I have read and understand the program that decides the simlock has nothing to do with your OS ROM. But as I have mentioned in previous posts I think the I-mate Rom is so much quicker than the Orange rom.
I have a 24 months UK warranty with orange just wondering will upgrading to the imate rom void the warranty? Should I stick with orange to keep the warranty?
Cheers
I think you will void your warranty by upgrading to imate ROM. However if you download the Orange ROM also if there is a problem with your handset you could always put that back on. I have had my M5000 about 5 months and it already has been through 4 ROM updates to find the best. If the worst happens when you update your ROM give HTC europe a call. Someone in an earlier thread said they charge £40 to reflash for you.

IMATE OR ORANGE ROM UPGRADE?

I am thinking of upgrading my o2 xda exec rom, i would like some advice on which rom you think is best, the latest uk orange rom, or the latest imate rom? has anyone had good/bad experiences with either?
orange rom!!!!!!!!!!!! 1.30.90 very good.
In my opinion Orange rom + radio 1.09 works very well....if you need A2DP you must use the last Imate rom (FTP  )...
i have been using the new orange rom for about a week now and i can say that its safe and works well, there are some major changes that you will spot while playing with your phone that were never there before, like if your looking at a txt and you click the green button to call that person-then it asks/shows you the number you are going to phone so that you can edit it if you want, also the best change is the communications manager, its ALOT better now, im still in the .03 radio, im not sure what is different in the n.09 radio update

If you bought it locked to a network, you have to use the networks ROM upgrade. This happened to me. The only Official ROM 1.93 ROM I could use was of the Orange site.
I think there's something on this site that tells you how to prepare your phone to take custom ROMS.
Hi to have:

Don't know if ORange have changed it now, but when I updated using the ROM in the orange site, it was the ORIGINAL HTC ROM, not a funny orange one with crappy graphics...
Do you have the Web link to the orange site for the Rom update
Does any one have the link to the Orange website for the update 1.93 ROM
im on orange...so i Orange 1.93 ROM would be great as id still be under warranty!
there was a link to an official Orange 1.93 ROM on this site - I've searched high and low and can't find it.
I did use it but found it to be no better (in fact the transitions wer gone so it was worse! as the performance seemed no better).
found it at last
http://www.orange.co.uk/diamond/RUU...igned_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe
Does the ROM have the Orange Stuff on it or just a strate HTC version
no orange branding
It auto sets up for orange settings - which is useful
I use the official orange 1.93 - it's very fast. Doesn't crash. Looks good
Go for it. I'm no expert but the whole process using an official rom update is easy
