Any ideas on how to remove the cingular logo from the keypad am using the 8125 any help would be appreciated..
Go to your Windows directory on your 8125 and find the file called "carrierlogo.gif". Simply modify this file to your liking (ie. transparent background, different logo, etc) and replace.
If you're not up to modifying the file on your own, you can use the one I have attached. It's the Cingular Jack graphic with a transparent background and the word "Cingular" removed.
You'll need to do a soft reset for the change to take effect.
Where's the attachment for the transparent 'cingular' logo?

Hi guys,
How can I change the dial pad/comm mgr skin?
thanks
I don't know of the Comm Manager skin but there are loads of dialer skins. Have you tried searching? http://www.paulya.com has a selection of nice dialers.
i actually downloaded the vodafone skin from the FTP....it's pretty nice - but i want to change the colour (currently it's a black theme)
is there any tutorial to do that? i know most of the bmp files are right in the \windows folder but i don't want to start photoshoping them without some guidance
I also didn't find yet how to change the comm manager skin / theme / colors.
Any advice would be nice
Can the Comm manager skin be changed in WM5? I have changed the today and dialer to black... but the blue comm manager is still there to urk me.
Personally I have not found anything that changes it or points to a gif file to modify.
Thanks
Ron
I was wondering if someone could edit the HTC home cab to not have the topbar or have rinku topbar and without my appointments for a cleaner look?
Thanks, Avery
wmsimple
transpaerent bar, nothing else..
thank you
WMsimple 1.2
your welcome, and this is a more stripped down version so it should use less memory and storage which is pretty sweet.. since im already working on phone want any new scheme colors?
Sorry i must of misleading i meant the HTC home cab pertaining to this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396908&highlight=htc+home
i cant seen to correctly edit the files to to make it where the topbar is transparent and the appointments line is removed
i got the apointments off but the way its programmed it doesn't allow transparent top bar, i have it set for transparent but its still their.. idk anyways just copy this file to \application data\home (backup the other one if you want) but it has to have "HTC" for the name or it doesnt work because of the extra plugins...
I am looking my ass-off for a white wm6.5 theme including a white top taskbar background.
and that is without manila, i am running Mirri v28 prem witout manila on my HD.
links, post,pm, all are welcome!
thanks brothers in phones!
wit?
maybe you can use the cab in post #2 of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566286
If you just want a plain white bar use the cab and then copy the attached file to \windows on your pda
OK i will do, thanks for your time!
will look great with a snow theme.

So if you really in to this, maybe you can expand the idea a bit more
WM6.5 can skin the top bar and the bottom bar.
If you copy and rename the white MyTaskBar.png to MySoftKeyBar.png
You can use it in a similar way with the attached cab.
In fact, you can make any image you like with the dimension 480x52 pixels with the extention png and (after installing both cab's) use them for the bar's
For the top bar name it MyTaskBar.png
For the bottom bar name it MySoftKeyBar.png
Copy both to \Windows and do a soft reset.
have fun
Hi there,
I'm slowly coming to grips with some of Android's inner workings.
I have inserted new icons into Framework-res.apk (the ones that you see when you press menu on your home screen) to add some colour. These work file with the Default android loader. But with ADW launcher, the 'notification' icon is grey, like it was before i put the coloured ones in the framework-res file. I pulled the adw apk and looked inside and found that it uses a couple of its own icons, and the notification icon is the default grey one. So i inserted the coloured one into the apk (using the same method i did with the framework-res.apk, winrar and store) and pushed it back. ADW was, after the reboot, non existant. I navigated to the data/app directory and attempted to manually installed it, but it said 'application not installed'.
So I gather that there is something wrong with the way i am editing the APK.
I know that some of the themes out there change the icons in these applications, i just wonder how.
Thanks for reading!
Josh.

Hey fellow themers out there! So one of the things that's preventing me to call my theme complete is this gray background image on my themed MusicPlayerWT.apk (see picture). It shows up under the track info and only in landscape mode. I looked and looked for a png file that makes up that image but I just can't find it. There ain't many png files in the drawable folders for me to keep missing so it just leads to conclude that is not a png file I'm after. It's similar to the grey notification bar on the notifications dropdown in the SystemUI.apk or the white dialer background in the Phone.apk. They are not png files that you could swap or edit. I really want to either make it completely transparent or black. If anyone out there could give me a hand with this I would appreciate it (link to apk file below). Thx ahead.

It's <color name="music_player_header_bg">#ff191919</color> in res/values-land/colors.xml my friend.
Tip: When you are looking for some background to change look what's on the foreground. In your case it took me 1 min to find it - first found that allshare button icon in drawables, then searched for the png name in /res -> found the button xml, then searched in layouts for the button xml name and found that head layout which has the background color I gave you. Simple, right...?

...anyways...why now do we have background images generated from xml files? Unless I'm mistaken, I don't remember running into that on previous Android releases.
