hi, i have a minor problem using mobipocket ebook reader. its really very annoying that the backlight turns off after my preset "turn off backlight if device is not used for..." which is 30 secs. i use the autoscroll function of the reader and i dont understand why the iis fails to recognise that mobipocket is running.is there a workaround for this problem?
2 things to look for.
1. in the backlight settings, tick on... turn on backlight when the screen is tapped.. probably it is already done.
2. in mobipocket --- general settings, tick touch screen turn page..
if this does not work.. then just reinstall

thanks for the response but the solution you proposed is not exactly connected to my problem because i dont want to use the tap screen to turn page function.i use autoscroll.primarily,i want for the backlight to stay on while im reading without having to constantly tap on the screen as it scrolls.as you probably know, once you tap on the screen scrolling stops and it really annoys me because i read so that i could get sleepy.it kinda defeats the purpose of "AUTO"scroll if you have to still use the stylus or your finger to keep the backlight on.

I don't want to revive a five-year-ago problem again, but I have the same problem. While autoscroll is active, the backlight turns off!
Any suggestions?
usually, if you set your display backlight to turn off after 30sec without activity, it will switch off after 30sec. without activity. no surprises there.
activity for that setting is defined by tapping the screen or pressing a hardware button, not by any program running.
usually games, the camera and multimedia players bypass that with their own setting of keeping the backlight alive while the program is run, so you could for example run tcpmp or coreplayer on pause in the background to keep the display lid.
or you set your backlight not to turn off when on ac power and connect the cable.
The screen turns on for a few seconds and turns off. There are no notifications and I do not have any type of alerts set. Ideas?
Have you installed any third part apps lately?
Honestly, the best thing would be to do a factory reset, so that you can figure out if it is hardware related or software.
I have done this on a galaxy s4 by editing a system file. Basically the issue is this, I am in skype calls while playing games on my phone. So everytime my hand goes over/near the sensor the screen goes black because I am in a call, highly annoying. I simply want it completely disabled, or even a better, a way to quickly turn it on and off. Any help? Thanks.
Hello, recently I've found that my device is draining battery at a substantial rate while in my pocket. And after some testing, I found that even while in pocket mode, the phone wakes the screen up upon notification. This is with ambient screen turned on by the way. So when I get a notification, the ambient screen turns on and you're able to interact with the screen. I guess what I'm trying to get to is: shouldn't pocket mode automatically disable the waking of the lock screen?
Thanks for the help

pocket mode disables interaction, not screen waking from what i understand. test it by covering the prox sensor and hitting the lock button on your phone - you'll see it until you uncover the sensor
also not sure why notifications are waking your screen - they never do that for me. what apps are you using? one of them must be turning on the screen, most apps don't do that
I had this problem recently and discovered it was related to the manner in which the phone/case fit in my pocket. With certain walking or sitting movements, the power button was getting pressed, which turned on the screen. It was highly annoying, but only happened once (so far). I twish the power button was much deeper into the case than it is.
This one really grinds my gears.
I use wired headphones a lot. and whenever I do and the phone is in my pants pocket, the thigh touching through the fabric of pocket turns on the screen many times. So I disable double tap to wake.
Every time I receive a call and phone is in my jeans front pocket, random buttons would be pressed. call would go on hold, or mute itself, or turn on speakerphone, or open keypad, turn on record etc.. and it is extremely frustrating. even more so when a business client calls me and I accidentally put him on hold because my phone is so stupid it does not understand not to turn on the screen touch. The proximity sensor works fine because when talking on call it will turn off the screen. just not the touch. My torch gets activated pretty often when pulling the phone out of pocket. this is so stupid infuriating.
The rest of the phone is amazing. I love the hardware. its pretty fast, runs games fine. camera is also very good. but the bloatware and the bugs are getting on my nerves.
This bug is from the day I got the phone.
Realme UI 3 update did not affect the bug but actually made it worse as the torch triggering issue has gotten worse.
I have not encountered any major bugs in the new update apart from a bluetooth volume fluctuation bug.
Am I alone having this issue?
PS: I forgot to mention that several times the quicksettings toggles are also triggered Like Data/Wifi turning off, VPN getting activated, Airplane mode turning on etc.
