Well there is a TomTom 5 map available for Australia so I would be surprised if they dont sell it down under.

Anyone got a list of equivalent devices sold under providers names. I'd like to know who else sells XDA II other than O2 and what do they call it. Thanks in anticipation
In the UK on contract there are two, O2's XDAII and Orange's m1000. Off Contract you can also get it as the Qtek 2020 and the i-mate.
Thanks for that. I'm looking for clues as to how to set up my XDA II to browse the internet via Vodafone GPRS. So far I get a connection but page not found error. I wondered if Vodafone listed the device unde another manufacturer but it seems not.
I've asked them, by email, if they have a generic windows PPC 2003 settings I could try. If I crack it, I'll post the solution here, because I don't think I'm alone in this.....
Have you tried the settings for Vodafone listed here.
Sorry it's been a while since I checked this post. I tried the Vodafone settings advised and they work a treat! Just don't understand why Vodafone can't seem to be bothered to provide this info themselves.....

Hi everyone!
I just had my O2 Xda Orbit delivered three days ago and decided to order as well the CoPilot Live package as I will be using the GPS quite a lot. I spoke to O2 Customer Services before they sent me the whole lot to ask them to send me the CoPilot Live box with the Western Europe maps... They told me that it shouldn't be a problem as the O2 Orbit was released as well in Germany so I expected that package with those maps but guess what?, they sent me the UK & Ireland maps only...
After a few phone calls to O2 Business Customer Services, they told me that "O2 UK would only supply UK & Ireland maps" and for the Western Europe ones I would have to upgrade them from the ALK Technologies website and "they probably would charge me something"...
My question is: is it worth getting that upgrade or should I better return the CoPilot package to O2 and get TomTom 6 for the Orbit? Any experiences on those 2 programs in the Orbit so far? Which one do you think runs better? And which one has an easier installation?
Your opinions will be appreciated... Thanks!
Hi, I had the same problem and finally managed to get the upgrade direct from http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/Software/COPILOT_LIVE_6_EUROPEAN_UPGRADE_FOR_O2_XDA_ORBIT.html . I haven't used the European maps yet but am off over Christmas so will let you know how I get on. The UK maps seem all good so far and I haven't got lost yet!
Anybody know where I can get an English version of the HTC P3300 in the Netherlands?
T-Mobile is going to be offering the phones for free, but they are only in Dutch.
Is there a way to change the operating system on it without messing up the whole phone?
Suggest to have a look at the pdashop.nl or smartphoneshop.nl
They offer the HTC P3300 EN with T-Mobile Contact (which will also give you the benefits of cheap phones..)
Ooops, only the Tytn is one of the recent models in EN. But it is maybe an idea to contact them with the question, their support is quite good.
At expansys.nl they have it (but no contracts as far as I can see)
Thanks for the reply
pdashop.nl wants 198- Euro w/ the Flex 40 2 year contract from T-Mobile.
I would be able to get the phone for free in a couple of weeks with the same contract
I guess the next step is to figure out how to change language on it without making it a paper weight.

Agree, go with the Expansys.nl - no hassle!
Any success?

Hi,
I wondered if anyone could clear up my problem...
I have read a lot of threads on different forums about WM6. There's very little information about WM6 upgrades with the PDA I have - the O2 XDA Mini S.
I'm looking to upgrade to WM6, and cannot find any way to do so. I've found T-Mobile offering an upgrade service to their customers, but not O2.
I'm not after any kind of cracked, illegal copy, I just want to know if O2 offer the same service?
Is it that it hasn't been released for this PDA model? Or the service is just not available?
I just want a way to get it! lol
Please help me out!
Thanks

There is no official WM6 out there for your device (HTC Wizard) not from T-Mo, nor from O2, nor from any other operator; so if you don't want to experiment with cooked/leaked roms, you are unfortunatelly out of luck.
Hi,
I'm using an Himalaya (XDA O2II). I'm going to buy a Softbank X01T (http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=769) or Toshiba G900 (http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=707) from Japan. They actually are the same with different brand names.
They are the next generation of Softbank X01HT - HTC Hermes 200 (http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=651)
I have some questions:
- Are they considered as Hermes?
- Is there any English ROM for it yet? The one I'm going to buy should be in Japanese
- Do you think the HTC Hermes SIM & CID Unlocker which works on X01HT will work on X01T/Toshiba G900?
Hope anyone can help to answer
Thanks a lot

Its not made by HTC, so no way is it a Hermes. The next generation of the Hermes is the E-monster (Kaiser) put out by e-mobile. I wouldn't think any of the unlocking options for the Hermes would work on the X01T, so don't expect them to work. Flashing a Hermes ROM could most likely brick the X01T, so I wouldn't recommend you try.
Why Softbank? Check out the E-Mobile Kaiser ( https://store.emobile.jp/spec_emonster.php ) much more fun, I'm sure!!
Try this forum for a start for info on the X01T anyway: http://mobgad.ath.cx/modules/xhnewbb/index.php
There's been ONE guy out there that has successfully flashed his Japanese Softbank X01T ROM to English. The link is here. http://myg900.com/index.php?showtopic=700
But be careful. I bricked 2 X01T's following his instructions. I'd just get a pimped out 3G phone in English or an unlocked G900. Don't get an X01T. It'll save you hundreds of bucks.
Thanks hamster0914 and flint24 for your info. I prefer to buy an unlocked G900 in English. Do you know where I can buy 1 in Japan? I've searched http://www.expansys.jp/, but it's strange that they stop selling it
that's ok in my country INDONESIA there was many people use SOFTBANK X01HT, and sucsesfully unlock...^^
Were the phones unlocked by the dealers or the manufacturer or by the buyers?

Try Yahoo Japan auctions. I saw one on there the other day for about 40000 yen.

I too have successfully changed to an English rom on the X01T (Toshiba G900) and so have a few others. (Thanks to other people's hard work)
However, finding out the Softbank internet modem connection settings to get back on the internet isn't so easy, although the rest of the phone works fine.
Links Removed. (Those pages don't exist anymore.)
