Anyone have these cabs? Or programs?
1) Suspend/PowerOff button
2) Alt-Tab so i can link it to a hard button
3) Softreset which i have that i am uploading here but doesn't have a Icon. Its just a plain program. If you have one with a nice icon, please upload here?
Isn't this the wrong forum to post such a request? Oh well, a really quick search for Alt-Tab found http://www.google.com/search?as_q=A...rum.xda-developers.com&as_rights=&safe=images. 2nd listing has your file.
You can find the next one the same way
Hint - look at my sig.
Cheers
Thanx Dr.Puttingham,
I actually found that cab the same time you posted it here. But i am trying to find the suspend and softreset the same way. But i always get some other threads that doesn't provide the cab. Rather they talk about other things.
Do you have the Suspend and Softreset programs?
maybe you would like me to come over and spoon feed you to? what does this have to do with WM6 in my eyes not a damn thing... Boy you just opened the perfect what not to post thread!! I'm not feeling to normal at the moment or I would flame you till my finger hurt. Dr is right SEARCH and if you don't find maybe it doesn't exist... Make it yourself this is a devoloper forum remember not a cab dipository...
I can't remember where I saw it but what you are looking for is in here somewhere. Of course "suspend" and "softreset" will only return about a billion search results. Maybe someone will see your post and can help out more. Most of the folks here are helpful.
Hmm, um, a CAB for an app to soft reset your device? Isn't easier to use the stylus? Maybe I'm nuts?
Thanx.
I've found it. The Alt-tab and the suspend and the softreset. The Suspend and softreset are from this program.. pcshutxp or something like that.
One I've used for a while is PHM's freewares:
http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/
Can't remember if it's the Powertoys or Keys that gives you what you're after, I always tend to have both installed as they're pretty small (and free)!
here's the alt-tab program from SPB
softreset.cab with icon

Does anyone know the registry tweak to make the end call button close applications when your in them instead of minimizing them? I remember seeing it but now I cant find the dang post.
I dont think that's possible on a smartphone such as the Excalibur. Although that would be possible on a PPC.

Ahh I thought I read a post of Rip Syntaxx saying there was a reg entry you could change but I read so many posts they all kind of blend into one. Thanks for the response.
Look for a program called AE Button for smartphone...
Excellent little program will let you remap any key, and lets you change the function.
I have my end call button not only end calls, but also close programs instead of minimize..
It will do exactly what you want it to do..
Please politely point me in the right direction if i haven't looked hard enough, but i found this on

is there any way to get this on the excalibur/dash?
"A little known feature is the FN key settings. From the home screen you can press combinations of “fn-{key}” and launch a program directly. After an install I setup several to hot launch including RSA, Twittery, Internet Explorer and Skyfire."
"Choose a keypad assignment and an application. Note you can type the first letter of the application in the value box to just to that app. Once set, when on the home screen type fn-{key} and that app will launch."
hopefully, i am late and this has already been ported to the dash.
please let me know
As far as I know, and what from I've seen looking around in the BJII ROM, that is a custom function of Samsung's keyboard driver, which wouldn't be compatible with the Dash. Why not use Smarttoolkit or the countless other keyboard hotkey managers outthere ?
Thanks for your help and kindness. I haven't received my phone yet but i do want to say that i am migrating over from the iPhone which i salivated over until i actually used one for 8 months; Unlocked/Jailbroken etc... I just wanted to know what was out there in order to make my transition as easy as possible. If you or anyone knows of any other tools out there that may be useful to me please let me know. Again, thanks NRG, for your help.
I had a fairly simple desire to map in a hotkey to enable and disable wifi with a single press-- I'm using the current 3VO 6.5 ROM. I'd located the Wireless Toggle utility, but now I need to attach it to a key. I didn't want to use the T-zones key by redirecting the Short_IE.lnk, because I find Celetask very useful there. I assume I could redirect the camera with Short_Camera, but I kind of like having this there too. The AEBPlus utility seems like overkill-- I only want to redirect one key, and I'm a little intimidated by the "oops I can't use my dash anymore" potential from mismapping some keys.
The solution I wanted to come up with is mapping an Alt value to the T-Zones or Mail key, or possibly redirecting the Mail key. However when I look at the et9 keyboard mapping file, I see that these keys aren't even in it from what I can see. I guess they are different from the other keys, and so I'm not sure I have the capacity to add an Alt value. So these are my questions:
- Is there some integrated way to assign Alt values to the Tzones and Mail keys without AEBPlus or another utility?
- Is tmail.lnk the shortcut that controls the Mail key? Are there other shortcuts that also are involved?
Sorry if this has been answered before. I tried to search on this, but maybe I just wasn't coming up with the right search string.
Thanks,
Gnat
Well, I take little pride in having stumped the forum-- at least I didn't get a "learn to search" response.
In the end I have solved the problem by using Chome Configuration to remap the second softkey for the Wireless Manager option under Settings from "All Settings" to "Wireless Toggle". This spares me from having to open HTC Communication Manager and scrolling around to enable wifi-- a pretty significant improvement for me.
Thanks,
Gnat
Glad you worked it out and didn't get use the search as it's not an answered question not many people use AEButton on smartphone and defo not in sticky
If you want a guide still of how to use AEButton i could run you off some screenys to demonstrate as it's an amzing bit of kit.

Don't know if you are still reading this, but if you know of a tutorial or guide to AEB, please share it.
I'm trying out the app right now, but find it extremely difficult to figure out, how to use it. And the author included no guide nor help file with the app. And his web page doesn't tell you how to use it.
One other concern--it seems to slow down the device a whole lot!
Well, I have searched up and down and only found the cab with horrible old graphics from 2007 =0... I'm looking for the end key app that cooks use in their roms, with the sleek black graphics, Thanks!!
noone knows of this program?
Maybe post here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=522
