hello there
i found the program memory to be fixed to 50.16MB , and i failed to reallocate it (the slider wouldnt move  ) :? , so , any hint ????
thanks
No, in Windows Mobile 5 program memory and storage space are physically different, so you can't change the allocations.
Program memory = RAM memory
Storage space = entirely Flash memory (used to be mostly RAM in PPC2003 devices).

Hi all, I'm new here and currently I have o2 xda IIs device.
First of all I'm sorry if this topic posted before (I did try search but couldn't find the answer )
I see that the main memory is divided into "Storage" and "Program"
Here's my memory allocation structure:
Storage - 54.07 MB (31.92 MB in use)
Program - 71.70 MB (21.18MB in use)
And here are my questions:
1. What is the contents in storage? (I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of the internal storage inside main memory).
2. What's eating the space (31.92 MB in use) in the storage of main memory?
3. Is there any ways to make the memory allocation more efficient?
Currently using Shipped o2 Asia 1.40 ROM.
All help will be appreciated, thank you in advance.
I'm asking you all WM5 geeks: is there a way to change the memory allocation in WM5? In my prev PPC 2002 I could dedicate more RAM to apps running, but I learned Tynt has no such feature. I also read about the ROM unlocker but I think it's not what I'm looking for since it frees up memory for installing programs.
I would like to move all the installs to the miniSD and I don't care how many apps I can run wothout miniSD... I wish only to have from 10 to 30 MB more memory at expence of internal storage quote.
Is there a trick to perform?
default all 128MB are application memory on wm2005
ppl use the ramdisk at buzzdev to make some of that application memory into storage
if you are using a ramdisk you can use a smaller one you can find them at buzzdev
Hi, anybody know why my P3300 user's manual states in it's specs: "System Information: Memory: ROM 128MB, RAM 64MB SDRAM"
But look at my attached print screen: an image of my Battery Status screen showing I only got 48MB Total program memory (RAM?) and 37.6MB Total storage memory (ROM?)
What's wrong, or has HTC given me less MBytes?
(PS: My storage card is Sandisk 2GB MicroSD)
(PS2: Also attached image of HTC original Memory Usage-screen showing the same)
Any help would be appreciated, or sent me your screenshot of having true 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM according to the user's manual. (Then I can complain againt HTC)

Because some of the memorary is used when u install a program (this includes the ROM)
OK
OK I know that.
But the thing is: look at the picture. It says program mem = 27.97 used from a TOTAL of 48MB!
And storage mem = 26.69 used from a TOTAL of 37.6MB
Shouldn't these TOTAL values be more like the ones stated on the specfications list in the user's manual idd: 128MB (ROM) and 64MB (RAM)????
I mean: 48 + 37.6 = 85.6 Where can I find the 128 + 64 = 192 TOTAL MEGABYTES OF MEMORY????? I only get to 85.6!
Waiting for your responses,,,,

Hi,
Can I only increase storage memory by installing a new rom ?
Or is there another program that can do this with a slider or something?
If not, which rom has a lot of program storage? I use YuE's clean rom, so i think the memory is already clean enough but maybe storage is too low.
Its for the problem below, IGO8 is almost completely on my memory storage, i think i have another 5MB short.
Thanks,

Hi,
I ordered a 8GB MicroSDHC and sold my 4GB allready, but i need my gps but don't have a memorycard at the moment.
Is there any trick or registry trick to let IGO search in the memory storage?
It's a small map i have put it with the basemap, licence,... on the memory storag.
I tried to make a directory in program files/igo8/content/map and put the map there, but it keeps searching on my Micro-sd card.
Thanks!

Out of memory error is the most common of cooked ROM with Manila 2.1 or 2.5.
Is it possible to take out some memory from storage and put as program memory for HTC Diamond? Since program memory is never full.
If I'm not mistaken, I once seen it on Blue Angle device.
cheers
No!!!!!
It is not possible...
